Which of the main characters of GTA has the hardest life

When I go to the Folder View widget and run a script from there that does
"plasmashell --replace & disown", the image disappears completely and the
bottom panel disappears.

If I open Dolphin(Meta+E) and run the same script from a folder in it,
everything works. After I have run the script from the Dolphin, you can run the
script from the "View Folder" widget and everything will work.

But if I reboot and run the script from the Folder View widget again, the
problem will repeat.

Please make everything work when you run the script from the Folder View
widget. The problem has been occurring for several years now. This was on
Plasma 5 and has been preserved on Plasma 6.

I am attaching a script and a video of what is happening.

Agreed. The work around is reasonable, but not obvious. Changing the Subject as

[Discover] [Bug 486797] New: discover crashes and cannot be started in the Chinese system language environment

2024-05-08 Thread GuNanOvO
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486797

Bug ID: 486797
Summary: discover crashes and cannot be started in the Chinese
system language environment
Classification: Applications
   Product: Discover
   Version: 6.0.4
  Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: discover
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: gunan...@qq.com
CC: aleix...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
discover crashes and cannot be started in the Chinese system language
environment.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install the latest kde neon os, and select the Chinese system language.
2. Open discover using any method.
3. Can't open it, just keeps saying discover closed unexpectedly.

EXPECTED RESULT
discover can run normally.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: KDE neon 6.0 x86_64
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Use the terminal to run plasma-discover, and you will get the following log:

Unable to start Dr. Konqi

I'm not 100% sure that this problem is related to the Chinese system language.
Since I upgraded to plasma6.0, discover has never run properly. I reinstalled
kde neon and the situation remained the same, but when I tried to change the
system language, discover ran normally again.
If you try to change the system language to English, everything returns to
normal and discover will be able to run normally.
I use Google Translate, please forgive me and thank you for your help.

It was opened, just not the way you normally think of.

Given that the behavior you see is like the behavior in bug 485096 where
pasting only works after spectacle's process ends, I think this is a duplicate
after all.

other file dialogs, not even other file dialogs in KMail, such as the one to
save attachments. (The screenshot shows the Plastik style and Kontact, but it
happens with Breeze and KMail too. KWin rules can't be the culprit either, I've
tried with a separate user with no rules.)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start writing an e-mail.
2. Click the toolbar button/press the shortcut to attach a file.

OBSERVED RESULT
The Attach File dialog is small, with the list of files invisible.

EXPECTED RESULT
The Attach File dialog has a normal size.

Ah, my bad — I misread the reported issue. So, for clarity, after I close
spectacle, I am able to paste the image — I am not able to paste an image with
spectacle open. Given that that is the case, it seems strange that using a
shortcut to capture a rectangular region to the clipboard doesn't count as
Spectacle being closed since the spectacle app was never opened to begin with.

[krita] [Bug 486795] New: Liquify transform mask cannot be translated/moved

2024-05-08 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486795

Bug ID: 486795
Summary: Liquify transform mask cannot be translated/moved
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.2.2
  Platform: Microsoft Windows
OS: Microsoft Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Tools/Transform
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: yuval...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 169327
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=169327=edit
layer with transform mask (faded copy is the original without the transform
mask), on the bottom i translated the layer+mask a bit to the right.

SUMMARY
translating a layer/layer group with a liquify mask does not translate the
liquify mask

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. create a layer, add a liquify transform mask to it with some transformation
2. translate the original layer (with the liquify transform layer within)

OBSERVED RESULT
the layer is translated, but the transform mask applies to where it originally
was (rendering only in that region, and erasing image data outside of it)
as you can see in the attachment, the liquify transformation applies where the
frown originally was, and the image becomes undefined outside of the bounding
box of where the original transform mask applied.

EXPECTED RESULT
i expected the layer to look as if i translated it

Greg,
1) when responding to a request for more information, change the status back to
REPORTED, or the system will eventually close the ticket automatically.
2) When replying to a bug by email, remove everything from the email except
your response. Your ENTIRE email becomes the next comment in the bug, and
including the previous comment (to which you are replying) in your comment
makes the whole bug harder to read. In addition, if your email reader sends
HTML, that creates an attachment to the bug which contributes nothing.
Thanks.

[gwenview] [Bug 336436] Switch to webkit or blink when rendering SVG files

2024-05-08 Thread Prajna Sariputra
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=336436

As discussed in bug 448234, Qt 6.7 unfortunately does not address all (or even
most?) of the problematic SVGs people have encountered, and even in this bug
report Gwenview still has trouble rendering the SVGs in comment 1 (the graph
lines end up going outside of the box) and comment 27 (the text in the diagram
is missing).

Although at least Qt is no longer against going beyond the Tiny spec at all
now, so hopefully future Qt releases will have more of an impact.

[kmymoney] [Bug 486793] Cannot change name or delete security

2024-05-08 Thread Jack
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486793

Something does seem strange, although I can't fully replicate your report.
To create a security within an Investment Account (other than imlpicitly by
adding or buying shares) you need to do so on the equities tab of the
Investments View. This creates the security (which can then be seen on the
Securities tab of the Investments View. When you do this, it creates the
security, which contains all the information about the stock. It also creates
the ACME sub account of the Investment account, which is what holds any
transactions regarding that stock in that investment account. This can then be
seen as a sub account of the Investment account on the Accounts view (possibly
depending on configuration settings.) What is odd (and debatably a bug( is
that it is NOT seen on the Equities tab of the investments view, probably
because it does not contain any shares. If you delete the Acme subaccount of
the Investment account on the Accounts View, you will then be able to delete
the entry for it on the Securities tab.

Regarding seeing the wrong name when you try to buy shares after changing the
name by editing the stock on the Securities Page of the Investments View, I am
not able to replicate this. However, it is likely that you changed the name of
the security (once per KMM fil) but not the name of the acme subaccount of the
investment account, which is what shows up in the security dropdown for
investment transactions. I'm not sure if this issue of name consistency has
been addressed in master branch, but I know some work has been done in this
area to avoid inadvertently creating multiple securities when you more likely
want multiple equities (in different Investment accounts.)

Current workaround(s)
1) understand that the name in the security dropdown in an investment
transaction in an Investmente account is the name from the subaccount for that
stock. While these names SHOULD always be the same, they are not always so.
2) if that stock does not show up on the Equities tab of the Investments View,
look for the subaccount of the Investment Account on the Accounts View.

I see two areas for possible work:
1) show a stock on the Equities Tab even if it does not contain any shares
2) assure the name is the same for all Equities for a single Security.

I have the same issue with my Thrustmaster T-flight. Only it is also crashing
the only application I use my HOTAS with.

My system (also Arch Linux and KDE Plasma 6.0.4), correctly detects the HOTAS:

Bus 003 Device 004: ID 044f:b108 ThrustMaster, Inc. T-Flight Hotas X Flight
Stick

It worked perfectly with Plasma 5. This has only started since 6.

I normally use my HOTAS with Elite Dangerous (the only software I use it with)
via Steam Proton. Since Plasma 6, Elite Dangerous (ED) crashes constantly on
"Planetary generation system". Deleting ED's Bindings file worked for a while
to get around that but any time I brought back any custom bindings, it's
straight back to crashing. Since trying swapping USB ports, it crashes
regardless and the game is now unplayable.

I have tried installed joyutils, jstest-gtk (my HOTAS shows up there fine),
swapping USB ports, different Proton versions, verifying game files,
reinstalling the Elite Dangerous, switching from Wayland to X11.

I am seeing this in 5.27.11 on Kubuntu 22.04.

I am on a laptop, and when on AC power I want many things disabled: "Dim
screen", "Screen Energy Saving", "Suspend session".

I go to Settings / Power Management / Energy Saving / On AC Power and untick
those boxes. Apply. Then I navigate to another area of the settings, or just
close and re-open the settings app.

All the boxes regain their ticked status.

(I don't think I'm allowed to reopen this bug, but I'd really like to!)

[kmymoney] [Bug 486793] New: Cannot change name or delete security

2024-05-08 Thread Freddy
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486793

Bug ID: 486793
Summary: Cannot change name or delete security
Classification: Applications
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.1.3
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: freddy_kde_bugzi...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Once a security has been created, changing it's display name (Full name) has no
effect, and the security can not be deleted even if there are no transactions
and no price entries linked to it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

1. Create a new .kmy file
2. Add an investment account
3. Add a new security (Stock, Trading symbol ACME, Full name ACME Corporation)
4. Change full name to something else ("Big Bad Corp")
5. Go to the ledger and open a new transaction "Buy shares", abort the
transaction.
6. Go back to the securities page and highlight Big Bad Corp to delete it.

OBSERVED RESULT

- In step 5, the security still shows up as "ACME Corporation" in the form.
- In step 6, the delete button is not clickable.

EXPECTED RESULT

The security should show up as "Big Bad Corp" in step 5 and the delete action
should be available in step 6

Have you tried it on a HiDPI display? I'm using Fedora 40 with KDE. If I set
scale in Display settings to 125% or above, Dolphin places are "full color"
(which I'm actually happy with). With scale set to 100% they are outlines.

getting some GNOME vibes here XD

My laptop is empty so I charge it.

I may have a bad charging connection, or want to move somewhere else and want
to know when that is okay.

Currently seeing the charging amount would require to plug the cable out, or to
expand the dropdown menu.

I think having it disappear on 95% on AC is a good preset, I dont know how it
was done before but something like that.

If a disc burn fails, the file listings contains files that do not exist on the
disc. I refer to such files as "zombie files".

There are several reasons a disc burn could fail:

- You forget to increase the time until your computer goes into stand-by mode,
also known as suspension, causing it to suspend automatically in the midst of a
write.
- You are using an external drive and it disconnects when you move a cable.
- The computer crashes
- The operating system closes tasks due to exhausted RAM (because many websites
are bloated nowadays and need 10 times the memory they needed a decade ago)
- Power outage
- You accidentally hit the power switch of an extension cord.

For these reasons, K3b needs to let the user remove those "zombie files" from
the file list of an imported session when creating a new session.

I've had this bug on EndeavourOS since updating to Plasma 6. By coincidence
what fixed this for me is applying a fix for another bug I also had:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484323

The solution for some people there has been to disable Kscreen2 found at:

Settings -> System -> Session -> Background Services

I tried this myself and now that bug is fixed, although I did have to reboot
after disabling Kscreen2 as my monitor (actually a HDMI connected TV) remained
blank the next day after I'd turned it off for the night. Logging out and back
in was not enough.

As a byproduct of that fix, my notifications are now always showing in the
correct location. It's been more than three days since I disabled Kscreen2
(without rebooting) and both bugs are gone for me. This includes several times
of switching the screen on and off which is about where I'd start seeing it
before, after locking and switching the screen off overnight.

It would be interesting to see if this would apply to anyone else's situation.
The downside is that disabling Kscreen2 might not be an option for those with
multiple monitors from what I understand.

Nobody else seems to have noticed this so I've just created this account
literally for reporting this as a possible fix for others.

It appears this issue is specific to WebRTC (or any client checking the size of
the buffer instead of the `SPA_CHUNK_FLAG_CORRUPTED` flag), since as of 6.0.3
(in this commit in particular
https://invent.kde.org/plasma/kwin/-/commit/6000cca75640595385d4627735669be23119224f)
kwin dropped the `spa_buffer->datas[0].chunk->size = 0;` assignment again,
while as of writing WebRTC is still checking if the size of the chunk is 0
rather than the `SPA_CHUNK_FLAG_CORRUPTED` flag.
https://issues.webrtc.org/issues/338232699

As mentioned in their report, OBS already started taking this into account a
year ago
(https://github.com/obsproject/obs-studio/pull/8793/commits/949f0b5209d8c4c0f879a9d7df3211eb83c0945e),
which explains why OBS continues to work perfectly fine whereas anything using
WebRTC is experiencing the bug.

"sudo apt-get install hunspell-en-gb" seems to have solved the problem. Not
sure why I was being given the option for UK English if the dictionary wasn't
installed, but working OK, now.

Please provide a crash trace, that will be extremely useful to find the issue
origin.
There should be a drkonqi notification to help you do that.

Otherwise you can follow you distro steps
https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Bugreport_application_crashed#Install_-debuginfo_Packages

The issue is more likely to be in KIO Framework that handles the ftp
implementation.

If you have the chance to test with a live iso with Plasma 6, that would be
interesting.

I can reproduce on Master.

This happens for me with a default panel at the bottom and 16:9 aspect ratio.
Only on wayland. Looks like there is not enough space for the panel on the
right side so kwin moves it somewhere else.

Using different settings, this doesn't happen.
For example making the new panel non floating before moving it, aspect ratio
16:10, smaller bottom panel size, no panel at the bottom etc...

[dolphin] [Bug 486790] New: Dolphin refuses to open folders in WebDAV locations and redirects to a browser

2024-05-08 Thread Andrey Voeiko
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486790

Bug ID: 486790
Summary: Dolphin refuses to open folders in WebDAV locations
and redirects to a browser
Classification: Applications
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 24.02.2
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: led...@vivaldi.net
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 169323
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=169323=edit
Dolphin redirects to browser

When using Dophin to manage WebDAV locations it manages the files fine, but
redirects to browser when you try to open a folder, saying "Dolphin doesn't
suppot opening webpages, so a webbrowser will be opened". Interestingly, when
you open a folder in a new tab/new window/split panel, it works as expected.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Connect to a WebDAV location
2. Open a folder

OBSERVED RESULT
Dolphin redirects to a browser with an error message.

EXPECTED RESULT
Dolphin should open a folder.
