It seems to me that this is an upstream issue. I monitored the PK dbus traffic
and the UpdatesChanged signal is never emitted when the available updates list
changes, only when updating packages with pkcon.
I have no idea if this is a bug or intended behavior, or if it only affects the
alpm PK backend.

Sure, I was speaking of the case where you build it against an already
installed libkvkontakte (such as for distro packaging)

This is the only way to get libkvkontakte translations currently, since there
is no tarball available, so one has to compile it from git which doesn't
contain translations.

[ksmserver] [Bug 369350] New: Some applications (choqok) fail to autostart in 5.8 beta

2016-09-25 Thread Antonio Rojas via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=369350

Bug ID: 369350
Summary: Some applications (choqok) fail to autostart in 5.8
beta
   Product: ksmserver
   Version: 5.7.95
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: l.lu...@kde.org
  Reporter: aro...@archlinux.org

After upgrading to Plasma 5.8 beta, some applications fail to autostart: in my
case it's choqok. Other applications seem to autostart fine. Downgrading to 5.7
(while keeping the same version of all other packages) makes it work again, so
this is definitely caused by the Plasma upgrade.

[digikam] [Bug 366010] Main menu bar is not translated (localized)

2016-09-23 Thread Antonio Rojas via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=366010

The problem is that, for some reason, the system digikamui.rc doesn't override
the local one, even though it has a higher version number (514 v. 505). So if
the user has a digikamrc.ui from 5.0 this won't be fixed on upgrade without
manually removing the local digikamui.rc

logind.conf has LidSwitchIgnoreInhibited=yes by default. In systemd<231 this
setting was ignored because of a bug that has been fixed in 231 [1]. So this is
intended behavior, if you want the lid switch inhibitor to work you need to set
LidSwitchIgnoreInhibited=no in logind.conf

[plasmashell] [Bug 365275] New: no MPRIS controls in taskbar tooltips in 5.7

2016-07-09 Thread Antonio Rojas via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365275

Bug ID: 365275
Summary: no MPRIS controls in taskbar tooltips in 5.7
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.7.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: aro...@archlinux.org
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

The MPRIS controls in taskbar tooltips are not appearing in Plasma 5.7. This
worked fine in the beta, and downgrading plasma-desktop to 5.6.95 fixes it, so
it's a recent regression. The media control applet works fine.

Reproducible: Always

[kwin] [Bug 364641] New: Panel is missing transparency at logon

2016-06-22 Thread Antonio Rojas via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=364641

Bug ID: 364641
Summary: Panel is missing transparency at logon
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.6.95
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: compositing
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: aro...@archlinux.org

In 5.7 beta, after logon the panel is missing transparency and shadows - it's
as if compositing was off, but only for the panel. Restarting plasmashell after
logon is finished fixes it.

How would one determine the KDE Applications version? What if you have dolphin
15.12, okular 16.04 and gwenview 16.08? What would be the version then?

[kate] [Bug 363297] kate/kwrite don't accept the file:/// protocol in URL

Still not working right. Now the 'file://" part is trimmed, but the url is
still appended to the current path instead of being interpreted as an absolute
path.
Also, the url needs to be percent-decoded so that something like 'kate
file://home/me/test%20file.txt' works.

Same here, using dolphin 16.04.1. I confirm that resizing the preview sidebar
makes the video show. It seems to affect all video formats.
With dolphin4 from kde-baseapps everything is fine.

[cantor] [Bug 312738] Should import Sage LaTeX macros

This has nothing to do with the broken latex rendering in the sagemath backend.
This is about the specific latex command defined by sage, which are not
available in standard latex.
As I said in the original report, reproducing is easy: just evaluate "Zmod(5)"
