VLC devs have confirmed that the text is correct but isn't triggering the
action, here: https://code.videolan.org/videolan/vlc/-/issues/27869

This only seems to affect BluRay discs.

[systemsettings] [Bug 464504] New: Incorrect VLC bluray action in systemsettings

2023-01-19 Thread Chris Wales
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464504

Bug ID: 464504
Summary: Incorrect VLC bluray action in systemsettings
Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: 5.26.5
  Platform: OpenSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_solid-actions
  Assignee: sourtooth+ssb...@gmail.com
  Reporter: introspect...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

When inserting a blu-ray disc, even though there is a device action designed to
trigger the command "vlc bluray://%d", the action is not triggered and so KDE
does not suggest playing with VLC when inserted.

This seems to hinge on the value "Available Content" not containing the default
text "VideoBluRay".

By contrast, the actions that cause VLC to be suggested when inserting an audio
disc or DVD work fine.

Always - it's as if the scrollbar/plasmoid aren't there.

[plasmashell] [Bug 437594] New: Scrolling over plasmoid changes virtual desktop

2021-05-24 Thread Chris Wales
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=437594

Bug ID: 437594
Summary: Scrolling over plasmoid changes virtual desktop
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Desktop Containment
  Assignee: notm...@gmail.com
  Reporter: introspect...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

When a plasmoid has a scrollbar, and you have more than one virtual desktop
scrolling the mousewheel over the plasmoid results in the virtual desktop being
changed rather than the plasmoid being scrolled.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a plasmoid to the desktop that has more information than is visible
(e.g. the Bluetooth plasmoid - size to ensure it cannot display all data in
it).
2. Position the mouse over the plasmoid and scroll the wheel down

OBSERVED RESULT
The virtual desktop changes, as though the mouse had been placed over the
desktop background itself rather than the plasmoid.

EXPECTED RESULT
The plasmoid should scroll down/up to show its content.

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Most times when I click on a link in an HTML email in Thunderbird, and it
launches a tab in Firefox, Plasma crashes and restarts.

It seems to briefly be 'immune' once it restarts but after a short period the
error occurs again.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.
