Maybe but we have to wait for 5.7 release scheduled for mid july to test this
:(

Do someone know how to disable icon animation / blinking ?

Hi guys,

I tested this morning with qt5-base 5.6.0-6 and I still have plasmashell using
from 30 to 80 % between each blink :(

Hi Piotr,

I could easily reproduce it with konversation, ask someone to ping you on IRC
and you will see your cpu starts acting crazy around 60 to 80 % when the icon
blinks.

Same issue here on archlinux and plasma 5.6.3, konversation blinking icon makes
the CPU raised close to 80%.

Another thing : removing the panel and creating a new one has the same effect +
5GB of memory consumed within a few seconds...

[plasmashell] [Bug 361994] New: 100 % cpu usage and 5GB of ram used when plug in the laptop on the docking station

2016-04-20 Thread Foued via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361994

Bug ID: 361994
Summary: 100 % cpu usage and 5GB of ram used when plug in the
laptop on the docking station
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Multi-screen support
  Assignee: aleix...@kde.org
  Reporter: foufoulevil...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org

Each time I put the laptop in suspend mode (by closing laptop lid) and plug it
on the docking station (Dell E6440) the cpu rise to 100% usage on a single core
and use 5GB of rss.

The only way to fix this is to kill plasmashell process and restart it manually

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Put laptop in suspend mode by closing lid
2. plug it to docking station
3. open lid

Actual Results:
100% of cpu usage and around 5 to 6 GB bytes of ram used

Expected Results:
normal CPU usage (between 0 to 10%) and normal RAM usage (around 250 MB)

I have 2 screens plugged on the docking station : one VGA (1920 x 1080) and one
DVI but it appears as HDMI in display configuration (1920 x 1200)
