[kmail2] [Bug 371656] New: HTML mail styles spill into message header

2016-10-25 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=371656

Bug ID: 371656
Summary: HTML mail styles spill into message header
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.3.1
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de

kMail 5.3.3 pre

In several cases, a displayed HTML mail influences the fancy message header's
style.

See the attached screenshots for reference - the screenshot taken in plain text
view shows how the header should look like.

The screenshot taken in the HTML view shows how the mail's styles influence the
header. Notice the missing borders around the header, the increased title text
size and the messed-up formatting of the dspam status line.

BTW: The dspam status formatting differs from all other header line
formattings, as it's expressed using completely different HTML tags:

*
Date:
Di. 25.10.16 11:13
Spam
Status:DSpam 99.37%
*

Reproducible: Always

2016-10-17 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla

This does not really make sense and you still cannot determine that "Text Level
3" is an answer to "Text Level 2", but "Text Level 4" is not, and you also
cannot determine that "Text Level 2" belongs to the introduction line from
"21:00:44" and "Text Level 3" belongs to the introduction line from "21:01:11".

You cannot even easily see that "Text Level 2" and 3 are quoted but "Text Level
4" is not. (Except possibly due to font face and color, if configured
accordingly, which is applied correctly.)

It should look as follows however to make clear which part belongs to what and
what part is an answer to which:

[kaddressbook] [Bug 370531] New: Erratic tab (key) / focus order in contact edit dialog

2016-10-12 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370531

Bug ID: 370531
Summary: Erratic tab (key) / focus order in contact edit dialog
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: 5.3.0
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de
CC: to...@kde.org

I have contacts with several phone numbers and email addresses.

The tab key order in the edit dialog can only be called erratic...

* Name, button
* nickname
* first phone textbox, dropdown, button, button

is still okay - but afterwards:

* web text box, dropdown, button, button
* messaging text box, dropdown, button, button
* first email textbox, dropdown, button, button
* tags textbox, button

and *then*:

* second, third, ... (all remaining) phone text boxes with their dropdowns and
buttons,
* and afterwards the second, third and all remaining phone number text boxes
with their dropdowns and buttons.

I'd expect the tab order to at least somewhat resemble the order of the widgets
in the GUI, eg. to be able to tab through all phone number widgets *before*
jumping to the messaging widgets, and also to be able to tab through all email
edit widgets before jumping to the tags widget...

The current tab order does not make any sense, neither from a visual nor from a
logical / conceptual point of view.

you probably "just" need to wait for Linux Mint to upgrade your kMail package.

AFAIK kMail 5.1 is not supported any more and you won't get further bug fixes

Switching between folders is sloow... :)

[kmail2] [Bug 369572] New: Regression kMail 5.3.1 QtWebEngine: HTML mail printing not possible if plain text view is preferred over HTML

2016-09-30 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla

OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED

I configured my kMail to prefer plain text content over HTML.

Since upgrading to a QtWebEngine based version, it's impossible to print HTML
mails. This is a major issue, as nowadays most mails are only readable and
printable if HTML is enabled.

1) I click the mail, which will be shown in plain text view.
2) I enable HTML rendering by clicking the corresponding link in the mail's
header.
3) I enable loading of external references / images, if required.
4) I chose "print mail". A dialog pops up which informs me that QtWebEngine
does not yet support printing and an external browser will be used.
5) I chose "Open in Browser" and the external browser will open, *showing the
mail's plain text contents*... (With no way to switch on HTML rendering, of
course...)

Expected:

The external browser shoul show the mail the way it's currently displayed in
the mail view at the time the print command was invoked.

In case the plain text composer, I'd expect plain text / tab-delimited values

HTML / a formatted table should be inserted in case of the rich text composer,

Mh... Copy-pasting from LibreOffice Calc 5.1.4.2 to kMail 5.3.0's plain text
editor will insert a PNG as an attachment by default which I consider to be
surprising.

At least the PNG actually shows a screenshot / rendering of the tabular data.

Inserting plain text using Ctrl-Shift-V will insert tab-delimited tabular text,
which is fair enough.

[kmail2] [Bug 368743] New: Regression kMail 5.3.x: kMail steals focus from quick search field

2016-09-13 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368743

Bug ID: 368743
Summary: Regression kMail 5.3.x: kMail steals focus from quick
search field
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de

It happens nearly always and is really annoying:

I switch to a folder, immediately click into the quick search bar above the
message list and enter a search term.

After entering one or two letters, the focus is stolen from the search bar,
causing any subsequent key presses to invoke all interesting kinds of hotkey
functions - which leads to blooming "reply-to"-windows and stuff... :-/

Needless to say that, after closing all undesired "reply-to" windows and what
else, I also have to click into the search bar and position the cursor
correctly to finally complete my originally intended search...

This only appeared after switching to KDE Neon, ie. the older kMail included in
Kubuntu 16.04 did not show this "focus stealing" behaviour.

Reproducible: Always

[kmail2] [Bug 368692] kMail 5.3.x: Wrong MIME part selected as Reply text

2016-09-12 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=368692

Addendum: This bug makes it hard to even reply to such mails.

A workaround is to select the text part before hitting reply, kMail will then
correctly quote and insert the selected text into composer.

If you do not know (or do not remember) this feature, you'll be stuck and kMail
might be as well, if the misused attachment is only big enough... ;)

[kmail2] [Bug 368692] New: kMail 5.3.x: Wrong MIME part selected as Reply text

2016-09-12 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla

Bug ID: 368692
Summary: kMail 5.3.x: Wrong MIME part selected as Reply text
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de

See the attached test message which is modelled after a message I received
today.

My kMail is configured to compose plain text messages.

If I reply to this message, the last attachment (a PDF tagged as
"application/octet-stream") is taken as the body text and quoted in the
composer.

For the original message, this attachment was 9 MB in size, freezing kMail for
quite some time until the composer opened with lots of garbage (binary PDF
stuff) inside.

Expected behaviour: The text body should be converted to plain text and used as
the reply template, not the binary PDF attachment.

Reproducible: Always

[kmail2] [Bug 368378] New: Regression in kMail 5.3.x: Drag and drop of attachments from a received mail into the composer does not work any more

  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de

Note: I'm using the plain text composer, just in case this makes a difference.

In previous versions, it was possible to drag and drop attachments from any
mail into a new composer window.

This does not work any more for me with kMail 5.3.x - instead of adding the
dragged attachment, text similar to the following is pasted into the editor
window if I drop the attachment:

attachment:2?place=header

or

attachment:2?place=body

depending on if a drag from the mails header area or body area.

Copy/paste of attachments using the context menu still works as a workaround.

Reproducible: Always

Is there a way to influence the opacity?

[kmail2] [Bug 360320] kMail 5 garbles original "To" header when bouncing a message

2016-08-29 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360320

I fear we're somehow not talking about the same issue.

To summarize:
* I receive an eMail,
* I bounce it using kMail and
* the generated bounce message contains a garbled / invalid "To" header.

All I'm saying is that kMail should not garble the "To" header if I bounce a
mail - even if it's formatted in an unusual, but apparently technically
correct, way.

[kmail2] [Bug 360320] kMail 5 garbles original "To" header when bouncing a message

2016-08-29 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla

(In reply to Laurent Montel from comment #4)
> but 'localp...@example.com ' is not valid and smtp
> told you it. It doesn't accept to send it.
> => it's not a valid address.

Right, but an address like that does not appear in these mails.

The "To" address contained in the mail I received was

  "'mails.kmail-bug-t...@gunter.example.com'"

This, I think, is a valid address with an admittedly strange looking quoted
"display name" and an address specification in angle brackets.

Thus kMail should not garble this address if I merely forward a mail which
contains an address formatted this way.

However, if I "bounce" a mail containing a "To" address like this, kMail
destroys the "To" address line. (See the pasted "bounced" mail from above.)
This should not happen, kMail should bounce the mail as-is.

[Akonadi] [Bug 338571] Performance Regression: Folder synchronisation in Akonadi 16.08 (actually in any release, starting with KDE 4.14) very slow, compared to kMail from KDE 4.13.x

2016-08-27 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338571

I'm using regular IMAP but with a local IMAP server. Don't ask me why I'm doing
it this way, but apparently it's a good setup to detect performance bottlenecks
in the IMAP codepaths. ;)

Laurent Montel already assigned this report to "IMAP Resource" nearly two years
ago, so if he was right, you'll probably not be able to reproduce it with a
local Maildir resource. However if a Maildir resource scales much better, this
would be an indication that it's actually a "suboptimal behaviour" (i.e. "bug"
;) of the IMAP Resource and not "simply unavoidable" if you use Akonadi.

If I open a folder, the list of mails is basically shown immediately - but I
cannot display mails. One or two previously cached mails might display, but as
soon as I select an uncached mail, all mails become inaccessible until the
"Syncing folder 'ABCD'" operation finishes, which takes close to a minute to
complete and in most cases is executed twice before the folder becomes
operational. (Thus the 90 seconds delay during which the folder is not usable
and which happens every time I open the folder.)

That's how I temporarily enabled the query log:

- connect to the MySQL server using the mysql monitor (MariaDB will probably
work the same)
- SET GLOBAL log_output = "FILE";
- SET GLOBAL general_log_file = "/var/tmp/querylog.sql";
- SET GLOBAL general_log = 'ON';

[Akonadi] [Bug 338571] Performance Regression: Folder synchronisation in Akonadi 16.08 (actually in any release, starting with KDE 4.14) very slow, compared to kMail from KDE 4.13.x

2016-08-26 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338571

Wow, it's much worse than one query per mail...

Activating the MySQL query log and just opening my Sent folder leaves me with a
log file which is - 190 MByte (!) in size... Admittedly there are also some
timestamps in there, but at least half of that is SQL...

Apparently, kMail runs the following set of queries *twice* for *each* single
mail:

2016-08-26T22:57:43.864393Z 88 ExecuteSELECT PimItemTable.id,
PimItemTable.rev, PimItemTable.remoteId, PimItemTable.remoteRevision,
PimItemTable.gid, PimItemTable.collectionId, PimItemTable.mimeTypeId,
PimItemTable.datetime, PimItemTable.atime, PimItemTable.dirty,
PimItemTable.size FROM PimItemTable WHERE ( collectionId = 602 AND remoteId =
'24314' )
2016-08-26T22:57:43.864535Z 88 Reset stmt
2016-08-26T22:57:43.864561Z 88 ExecuteSELECT FlagTable.id,
FlagTable.name FROM FlagTable INNER JOIN PimItemFlagRelation ON (
PimItemFlagRelation.Flag_id = FlagTable.id ) WHERE (
PimItemFlagRelation.PimItem_id = 653279 )
2016-08-26T22:57:43.864667Z 88 Reset stmt
2016-08-26T22:57:43.864693Z 88 ExecuteSELECT FlagTable.id,
FlagTable.name FROM FlagTable INNER JOIN PimItemFlagRelation ON (
PimItemFlagRelation.Flag_id = FlagTable.id ) WHERE (
PimItemFlagRelation.PimItem_id = 653279 )
2016-08-26T22:57:43.864793Z 88 Reset stmt
2016-08-26T22:57:43.864819Z 88 ExecuteSELECT PartTable.id,
PartTable.pimItemId, PartTable.partTypeId, PartTable.data, PartTable.datasize,
PartTable.version, PartTable.external FROM PartTable WHERE ( pimItemId = 653279
)
2016-08-26T22:57:43.864946Z 88 Reset stmt
2016-08-26T22:57:43.864980Z 88 ExecuteUPDATE PimItemTable SET rev =
1, remoteId = '24314', remoteRevision = NULL, gid =
'<201101172158.07416.xxx...@example.com>', collectionId = 602, mimeTypeId = 2,
datetime = '2016-08-26 22:57:43', atime = '2016-08-27 00:57:43', dirty = 0,
size = 967 WHERE ( id = 653279 )
2016-08-26T22:57:43.865197Z 88 Reset stmt

That sums up to 5 queries times 40,000 mails times 2 = 400,000 queries just to
*open* a single folder. Whoa.

In addition to the sheer number of queries one notes that the following
identical query (with same parameters!) is executed twice in this batch, and is
even a *join*:

SELECT FlagTable.id, FlagTable.name FROM FlagTable INNER JOIN
PimItemFlagRelation ON ( PimItemFlagRelation.Flag_id = FlagTable.id ) WHERE (
PimItemFlagRelation.PimItem_id = 653279 )

Hopefully, the MySQL query cache is able to optimize the second execution away
but you still lose some time to send the query and retrieve the response.

So we could already save 80,000 join executions just by removing the second
redundant call and re-using the result the first call returned. That would
still leave us with 320,000 queries however. If kMail would scan the folder
only once, we would be down to 160,000 queries - still a lot for 40,000 mails,
but already about 2.5 times faster than at the moment.

All queries properly use indices, but given the sheer number of simple
statements and a necessary join, I'm not surprised it's *that* slow.

All I know about relational databases would suggest it would be much better to
use larger batch-selects and updates instead of tons of individual key lookups.
This kind of workload would be more suited for KVP/hash based data stores - and
preferrably an in-memory cache, at least for read accesses...

[Akonadi] [Bug 338571] Performance Regression: Folder synchronisation in Akonadi 16.08 (actually in any release, starting with KDE 4.14) very slow, compared to kMail from KDE 4.13.x

Currently slightly more than 41000 mails. It was somewhat less two years ago
with kMail from KDE 4.13, but not significantly, and the performance dropped
all of a sudden with the update.

Thunderbird is quite snappy with a folder that size, but I like kMail more -
although the extremely bad performance is definitely getting on my nerves.

I tried increasing the innodb buffer size, but this did not result in any
significant improvement.

My impression is that there's at least one separate query issued for each mail,
maybe more. This would also match the observations stated above by another
user. Probably a lot less queries were issued in kMail 4.13, which also was
already based on Akonadi. (KDE 4.7 was the first release that included the
Akonadi-based kMail 2.)

Bug ID: 367874
Summary: kMail crashes upon Thunderbird-generated invitation

   Product: kmail2
   Version: Git (master)
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash

 Component: general

Using kMail and kOrganizer Version 5.3.0 (QtWebEngine), KDE Frameworks 5.25.0,
Qt 5.7.0 (built against 5.7.0), The xcb windowing system from KDE Neon, I
created an incident for which I invited several people. Actually, I invited
some email distribution lists, so the invitations were spread out to other
email addresses.

Some receipients use Thunderbird and confirmed the incident. kMail crashes
immediately as soon as I click at the mail in the mailing list and kMail tries
to open it in the preview window.

Unfortunately, I cannot provide a test case, as kMail does not seem to crash if
it cannot find a link to the calendar incident. (If I modify the message to
reference another indicent UID, the crash does not seem to happen.)

I'm also having a hard time generaring a meaningful backtrace, as I could not
find packages with debug symbols in my KDE Neon package lists - I'd probably
need the developer edition, but I only installed the stable users' edition...
:-/

Currently, I do not even seem to be able to get a partial stacktrace, only the
information that kMail caused a segmentation fault...

"Application: KMail (kmail), signal: Segmentation fault"

:-(

[kmail2] [Bug 360320] kMail 5 garbles original "To" header when bouncing a message

2016-08-26 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=360320

I'll start with a disclaimer:

The point is, I'm not even using these addresses, the bug described happens if
I just want to bounce a mail which *contains* such an address - I'm using a
totally plain new address as the bounce target. The mail that is being
forwarded gets garbled in the process.

How does it happen that such mail addresses get introduced into mails I
receive?

Good question. However, I see addresses formatted like this quite frequently. I
guess it's an unlucky combination of different MUAs which first cause an
address like

   localp...@example.com

to be generated from the pure address, and in later steps the "real name" part
gets quoted somehow.

Possibly also Akonadi address search - or possibly older versions thereof -
might come into play, as addresses like this are often suggested to my by
kMails address search. Then again, it might also be that Akonadi just extracted
these strangely formatted addresses as-is from existing mails.

In any case, I think the format - strange, as it is - is technically correct
and addresses like this ought to work, shouldn't they?

It did not get any better, just opening my "sent" folder just took 87 seconds

Whatever was changed between KDE 4.13 and 4.14 in this respect concerning
kMail, Akonadi, IMAP and their cooperation just was no good idea and no proper

In fact, these versions of kMail and Akonadi feel much more "snappy" while
working with mails - just the most serious performance problem was not solved
and did not improve, unfortunately.

Screenshot showing wrong displayed time.

The attached screenshot shows my kMail displaying the example invitation,
showing the wrong time. kOrganizer correctly imports the incident, however.

The KDE installation used is the one delivered with Kubuntu 16.04:

Version 5.1.3
Unter:
KDE Frameworks 5.18.0
Qt 5.5.1 (kompiliert gegen 5.5.1)
Das xcb Fenstersystem

I don't know if there is any more recent pre-compiled package available - I'd
try it if there is and if it works well enough to be usable.

KDE Neon does not include KDE PIM so far, does it?

Is there any additional information about my system that might be helpful in
tracking this issue down?

iCal invitation originally generated by Outlook 2010 which is displayed with
wrong incident times in kMail.

Attach this file to a mail you send to youself with "suggest inline display"

kMail will pretty-print the invitation, but display 3pm to 4pm instead of 2pm
to 3pm as the incident's time.

For me, the pretty printed result looks as follows:

I encountered this problem with a kMail identity with alias addresses.

In my concrete case, a distribution / mailing list address was defined as an
alias address for my personal address in kMail settings -> identities -> Edit
-> eMail aliases.

I entered a new incident and invited this distribution list (in this case
a...@example.com) and confirmed the editor.

The invitations were sent correctly, but the indicent was not visible in my own
(!) calendar. I always use the month view, but I don't expect it's specific to
this.

Only after removing the mail alias from my mail identity - which caused
kOrganizer to crash, btw. - the incident automagically appeared in the month
view.

[kmail2] [Bug 363130] New: Dragging attached messages to folders looks as if it works, but doesn't

2016-05-16 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363130

Bug ID: 363130
Summary: Dragging attached messages to folders looks as if it
works, but doesn't
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.1.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: commands and actions
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de

This might lead to "lost" messages:

If you have a message with another message attached, you can drag this attached
message (dragging the "Embedded Message" link) to another mail folder.

A popup dialog will open "Copy here / Cancel" and if you choose "Copy", you
will have the impression that you just copied the embedded message as a new
message to the destination folder.

In fact, kMail instead silently refuses to perform the action and nothing will
be copied.

(While experimenting with this behaviour I noticed that the DnD target dialog
will be shown for any attempted DnD operation, regardless of the object's MIME
type. So you can also eg. drop attached ICS files to a mail folder, which of
course also fails, but does not give any feedback that it did. My expectation
would be that kMail does not indicate drop functionality for incompatible MIME
types, but allows to drop embedded messages as new messages as it's a
compatible data format. And in any case, kMail should complain if the operation
cannot be completed successfully, and should never fail silently without
notifying the user!)

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Send yourself an eMail with another message attached and open the received
email.
2. Drag the embedded message to any email folder by dragging the "Embedded
Message" link onto a folder it in the folder list - the mouse pointer will
change to a "DnD copy" symbol - and dropping it there.
3. Select "Copy here" from the popup menu which will appear.

Actual Results:
Nothing happens, the message will NOT be copied and there will be NO error
message.

Expected Results:
The dropped message should appear in the destination folder if the mouse
pointer indicates that it is possible to drop it there. If it's not possible to
drop it, the mouse pointer should indicate this by showing the "DnD forbidden"
symbol.

In any case, an error message should indicate that the DnD operation was not
successful if it fails for whatever reason.

This behaviour might lead to information loss, if someone collects important
information / messages in a mail folder and fails to move in important message
there due to this bug. In this case, the message which failed to copy will be
"out of focus" and the task or information contained might be forgotten. This
nearly happened to me. => severity "Major".

[kmail2] [Bug 359058] Regression: Drag-n-drop of (Image-)URLs from Chromium does not work in kMail 5.0.x any more

2016-05-13 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=359058

For me, kMail 5.1.3 inserts the image URL as text and some character garbage
(URL-encoded UTF-16 as ASCII, or something, see below...)

It does not ask whether to paste the address as text or to attach the actual
file.

If I now copy the image URL in chrome (right-click -> copy image url) and paste
it into the editor, it just pasts the URL string and does not ask if it should
add the linked file as an attachment instead. (IIRC it did so in previous kMail
versions.)

All stated holds for the plain text editor. (I do not use the HTML / richt text
editor.)

Software:
kMail Version 5.1.3
KDE Frameworks 5.18.0
Qt 5.5.1 (kompiliert gegen 5.5.1)
Das xcb Fenstersystem

Example:

If I go to http://www.ohrner-it.com/ and drag the company logo on the top left
of the page to the plain text editor, the following will be pasted (the text
between the lines):

--
http://www.ohrner-it.com/images/logo.png
%00O%00h%00r%00n%00e%00r%00 %00I%00T%00 %00G%00m%00b%00H
--

This looks quite wrong to me...

An appointment ranging from 00:00 to 00:00 the next day (eg. 2016-05-10 00:00
until 2016-05-11 00:00) clearly is a full-day-event occupying May, 10th.

kOrganizer however does not consider that it actually takes no time on May,
11th at all and shows it as an appointment covering both days, at least in the
month view.

2016-03-19 Thread Gunter Ohrner via KDE Bugzilla

For me it just seems to happen "randomly" at the moment - in most cases, kMail
works fine, but then suddenly decides it's offline and cannot be convinced that
actually it's not...

I have to logout and re-login in fact to get it working again, which is pretty
disruptive during work...

Even switching to Network Manager for managing my ethernet connection, which I
now finally did, hoping it would solve these issues, did not help...

Correct messagebox for importing iCal/vCal, which appears if kOrganizer is
already running.

This screenshot shows the same dialog with correct buttons. It appears this way
if the kOrganizer is already running when the iCal/vCal file is to be imported.
The buttons read "Merge into existing calendar" and "Import as new calendar".

If the kOrganizer GUI is not yet running while an iCal/vCal import is
attempted, the same message box appears but shows just "Yes" and "No" instead,
while the displayed message is an either/or question.

See how the address consisting of an awkwardly formatted real name and the
acutal address in the original "To" field is now split into two addresses, the
first of which is invalid as it's quoted. My mail server does a header syntax

Right, I'm using the Oxygen icons. (The panel does not actually seem to
show/display its icon anywhere btw. The panel menu is just a

I'm using kwin:

Windows dragged to where the panel is or maximized windows always move behind
the panel, just as the first attachment shows. This also happened with the new
panel I created, from which I took the xprops.

I use an autohidden panel at the bottom of the screen which contains an
application starter, lock / logout buttons and the calendar and clock widget.
(See screenshot.)

After switching to Plasma 5.5.4, I could not get this panel to hide any more. I
also switched it a few times between "display always" and "auto hide" and moved
it to different borders of the screen to no avail. Another autohidden panel I
had in the top-left corner of my screen still worked fine.

I ended up recreating my panel and removing the original one - the new panel
will correctly autohide, as expected.

Thus maybe this report is pointless, but I just wanted you to know in case you
may have an idea what could have caused this and it can be fixed for other
users.

  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de

If I drag and drop images from Chromium to the kMail editor, the mouse cursor
will indicate that the image could be dropped, but if I drop it, nothing
happens.

I would expect the image to be added as an attachment.

Likewise, if I copy the URL and paste it into the message editor, I get a popup
menu asking if the URL should be pasted as text or the referenced file be added
as an attachment. If a chose "Add file as an attachment", also nothing happens.

I would also expect the referenced file to be added as an attachment - just as
the text in the popup menu says...

I know there was a similar bug for pasting the URL as text IIRC which was
actually caused by a bug in the underlying Qt libs and was fixed using a
workaround. Unfortunately, I was not able to find this bug again.

Possibly, this bug's cause is related and the "attach URL" code would need a
similar workaround?

In KDE 4.13 and below, the IMAP sync performance was always great!
