I think I have started seeing this since upgrade to plasma 5.7 (5.7.4 to be
precise) from 5.6.5 . Never had this problem before.

it seems that #345957 is back because your commit, fixing the problem:

was reverted (index.theme part at least) in your next commit a month later:

Is this correct? As far as I can tell, as a result, breeze-dark theme is a bit
crippled at the moment (using 5.4.3 here)
