Alt+shift+f12 enables effects only untill next reboot. Deleting kwinrc and rebooting fixes the problem, but if I disable background contrast effect and reboot, the problem comes back, and I get disabled compositing again at boot. After playing Team fortress 2, window decorations become broken. Most kubuntu devs left kubuntu so there are a few people working on it and 16.04 LTS is top priority. 16.04 will be released soon so you can upgrade to it. Can we have workaround implemented for this bug ("adding a shoddy timer delay
before loading the applets" as David said) until fix in available in qt 5.6?
Note that bug https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-48870 is still not fixed in
qt ("in progress"). Also qt 5.6 release is delayed again and again.
We have broken systray for months and we will have it broken in next months in
stable product...

When system boots up, if I do kquitapp plasmashell and then plasmashell, systray starts without these bugs. Anyway, I cannot beleive that systray is still broken and we are at plasma 5.5.3 version...
