Sure it can. SDDM can read from "/usr/share/sddm/faces/". That's how I got it
set, manualy, systemsettings is not creating any files there for me.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=365662

Bug ID: 365662
Summary: Avatar of last changed user displays.
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.7.1
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Application Launcher (Kickoff)
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: pepk...@gmail.com

Bob and Jane share a PC.
Bob logs it to his account and decides to change Jane's avatar in
systemsettings.
After applying settings he then proceeds to open up kickoff.
Kickoff then displays icon belonging to Jane.
He can override Jane's icon by changing his own.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Look at your avatar in kickoff
2. Change avatar of someone else
3. Enjoy not your avatar on your kickoff

Actual Results:
Wrong icon/avatar displayed.

Expected Results:
Do not set someone else's avatar on my kickoff.

It seems that 5.6.95 adds new splash and sddm theme. Imho it's too bright in
comparsion with 5.6 version.
It seems to favor bright breeze plus it hurts my eyes.

Can there be darker version included in final version as an option ?

If there's no icon specified them icon is invisible. Why not assign some sort
of a generic icon in such case.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find file without icon, .pdb for example
2. Admire blank icon
3. Enjoy OCD

Enjoy generic icon, if someone wants to add custom icon someday, so be it.

[frameworks-solid] [Bug 357951] New: Dolphin and gwenview fails to open Windows Phone 8 MTP

2016-01-13 Thread Piotr Kloc via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=357951

Bug ID: 357951
Summary: Dolphin and gwenview fails to open Windows Phone 8 MTP
   Product: frameworks-solid
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: lu...@kde.org
  Reporter: pepk...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org

When I try to open files stored on Windows Phone 8 or higher device I get
error.
Only software relying on solid/kio fails.
Details:
File or directory
udi=/org/kde/solid/udev/sys/devices/pci:00/:00:1d.0/usb2/2-1/2-1.5 does
not exist.
Solid is marked as 5.17

It makes interoperations of gtk and qt applications quite a disaster. I can't
for example view WP 8+ photos in a Gwenview when using Nemo.
Nemo can't share clipboard with Dolphin.

There's a bug filled in kio but it's left unanswered. I am posting it here as
error shows Solid in path.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Get WP8 or higher device
2. Mount it with gvfs capable file manager
3. Try to view some photos from phone
4. Get error in Gwenview

Alternatively
1. Mount WP8 or higher device in Dolphin
2. It will scream an error

Another option
1. Mount WP8 or higher device with gvfs capable file manager
2. Try to copy files to kio/solid file manager
3. Get wrong URL error in Dolphin

Actual Results:
Kio capable software fails to use WP8 MTP. It also fails to interoperate with
gvfs capable software.

Expected Results:
My younger sister shouldn't curse linux in her mind ;-)
