Then this is an upstream issue and you need to contact the MLT project,
http://mltframework.org/. The reason is that MLT is the engine inside Kdenlive;
so if melt already chokes, then Kdenlive cannot do anything about this.

No, playing in melt behaves the same way as in Kdenlive.

Not sure about that, but probably not, because I have updated the whole OS.
Current ffmpeg version is 2.8.6-1ubuntu2. When playing the video in Totem video
player or VLC, it works correctly.
