[kwin] [Bug 486399] kwin_wayland crashing will crash many native Wayland apps (which seems to be unintended?)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486399 --- Comment #3 from Ellie --- For what it's worth, I can reproduce kate crashing by using SIGKILL on kwin_wayland. Most other KDE apps survive, the non-KDE apps don't, which matches your explanation. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486399 --- Comment #2 from Ellie --- Thanks so much for clarifying how this is meant to work. The affected kate is version 24.02.2 from openSUSE and it is a Qt6 build. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

We have special code specifically for our apps to survive, but that's code inside those apps. Other apps need support. We do have pending patches for other toolkits, but it's not merged many other places. I'm surprised by kate crashing. If you can confirm that's a Qt6 build and get a backtrace I would appreciate it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
