Do you have IMAP accounts in kmail?

I have the same behavior on debian unstable with kde 4.3.4. I guess, it may be
related to bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186936, because kontact on
my system leaves processes after exit only after connection loss.

[Bug 224444] New: classify as spam/ham with spamassassin should use --sync

2010-01-27 Thread Philipp
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=22

Summary: classify as spam/ham with spamassassin should use
--sync
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: philipp_foers...@yahoo.com

Version:(using KDE 4.3.4)
OS:Linux
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

shouldn't the spamassassin command in the automatically created filter use
sa-learn -L --spam --sync instead of the --no-sync switch? i think a sync is
needed in order to make SA take the training into account when scanning new
messages. so disabling this with --no-sync would render all the training you do
in kmail useless until you run sa-learn --sync from command line. people who
use kmail and set up the filters with the wizard usually don't know about this,
so all their training will be useless. can be quite frustrating.

advanced users who know spamassassin will change it the filters to their
likings anyways.

Still happens with Kontact 4.3.4 on Fedora 12. Forcing fullscreen from special
settings for applications in KWin and then removing the special options
workarounded the bug for me. Now it works fine.

This is mostly related to unminimizing applications from system tray: it does
not remeber its state (maximized or not). I remember I've seen (and continue
seeing) this from time to time in Amarok too.

When I proceed to merge or unmerge cells, the CPU hits 100% and it takes about
3-5 minutes before this calms down. While this goes on, I cannot use the
software. The same problem occurs when I hit the Recalculate the value of
every cell button.

Please fix. I know that version 4.3.5 was supposed to fix this - but for me,
the problem persists.

KAdressBook alone works fine.
It is not the first time I have this bug, I think the problem comes from the

Here is the kaddressbookrc file I deleted :

--- Comment #2 from Mickaël mprizee laposte net 2010-01-27 17:26:22 ---
Kontact crashs immediately if I tick the box about the IM presence, but only in
Kontact.
KAddressBook doesn't crash but displays only the IRC presence, not the MSN one.
I am running Konversation Kopete.

[Bug 222878] kontact process does not exit after closing kontact window in every case

--- Comment #2 from Alexander Stein alexander stein informatik tu-chemnitz de

(In reply to comment #1)
Do you have IMAP accounts in kmail?

I have the same behavior on debian unstable with kde 4.3.4. I guess, it may be
related to bug https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=186936, because kontact on
my system leaves processes after exit only after connection loss.

Yes, I'm using (2) IMAP accounts. But I can't stay whether I got connection
losses or not.

[Bug 224534] New: Kontact crashes on startup (two instances)

2010-01-27 Thread Xosé
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224534

Summary: Kontact crashes on startup (two instances)
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: xoseca...@gmail.com

Application: kontact (4.4 rc2)
KDE Platform Version: 4.3.95 (KDE 4.3.95 (KDE 4.4 RC2))
Qt Version: 4.6.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31-18-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 9.10

-- Information about the crash:
When I log in kontact starts up automatically, asking first for the password.
A window appears warning that there are two instances of kontact running. If I
check Close Kontact, nothing special happens, but I have to launch Kontact
again (the password is not needed now as it is in Kwallet).
But if I chose to open Kontact anyway, two instances appear, the akonadi server
is launched; it fails and then the two instances of Kontact crash.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[Bug 224537] New: kmail crashed when clicking ok button after entering connect info for a mailserver

2010-01-27 Thread Michael Vinnemeier
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224537

Summary: kmail crashed when clicking ok button after entering
connect info for a mailserver
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: mich...@vinnemeier.de

Application that crashed: kontact
Version of the application: 4.3.2
KDE Version: 4.3.1 (KDE 4.3.1) release 6
Qt Version: 4.5.3
Operating System: Linux 2.6.31.8-0.1-desktop x86_64
Distribution: openSUSE 11.2 (x86_64)

What I was doing when the application crashed:
I clicked ok after entering the info for contacting the mail server to
receive mail from. The sending server was not yet specified, because I wanted
to test the receive functions first.
The mailserver is a cyrus-imapd running on openSUSE 11.2 version
2.3.14-8.3.i586.

[Bug 224558] New: crash after every disconnect [imap]

2010-01-27 Thread Chani
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224558

Summary: crash after every disconnect [imap]
   Product: KMail 2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: chan...@gmail.com

Application: kmail (1.13.0)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.60 (KDE 4.4.60 (KDE 4.5 = 20100120)) (Compiled from
sources)
Qt Version: 4.6.1
Operating System: Linux 2.6.30-ARCH i686

-- Information about the crash:
in trunk, I would often have to restart kmail after a wifi disconnect because
it'd fail to load imap folders (and in early january also fail to ever time out
its doomed attempts).
since switching to 4.4 branch, kmail saves me the trouble by just crashing. ;)

this happens very frequently: every time I unhibernate my laptop at school
(where I have to log in before getting real internet access) or when I'm in an
area without wifi. it takes a few minutes for kmail to notice that I'm not
online (I don't use networkmanager) but once it notices it's sure to crash.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[Bug 224562] New: Kmail launches error can't search IMAP-Box after update

2010-01-27 Thread ra.be.baerlin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224562

Summary: Kmail launches error can't search IMAP-Box after
update
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.12.4
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ra.be.baer...@googlemail.com

Version: 1.12.4 (using 4.3.4 (KDE 4.3.4), 4.3.4-3.fc11 Fedora)
Compiler: gcc
OS:Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.30.10-105.fc11.x86_64

The other day I updated the kdepim-package delivered by the repository. From
that day on there where quite a number of error messages when I tried to switch
between non-local folders of eMail-accounts.

The message was:

Error while searching.
Searching of folder Unbekannt failed. The server returned: UID SEARCH: BODY and
TEXT are not implemented

Where Unbekannt is the name of the folder.

This was invariant even in check the mail of different providers. (googlemail,
web.de, alice-dsl.net)

A continue button was provided. Sometimes all kmail came to a standstill
afterwards that there was the need to kill the job. At no time there was a
crash with a stack backtrace.

This behaviour of any application in the kdepim-suite never happened before
during the last 10 years.

KDE 4.3.4
kdepim-4.3.4-2.fc11.x86_64
kmail 1.12.4
Linux vulture.xyz.org 2.6.30.10-105.fc11.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Dec 24 16:41:51 UTC
2009 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Regretfully I can not provide any more information right now.

Best wishes

Ralf Bertelsmann

[Bug 224587] New: HTML-message is not shown when selected

2010-01-27 Thread Silver Salonen
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=224587

Summary: HTML-message is not shown when selected
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.0
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: silver.salo...@gmail.com

Version: 1.13.0 (using Devel)
Installed from:Compiled sources

When I select a message (from an IMAP-account) and that message has both
plain-text and HTML versions, the contents of the message is not shown. When I
click on the HTML message bar on left, the HTML-version is shown. When I
click on the HTML message bar again, the plain-text version is shown.

It happens only for some individual messages, but it's reproducable on these
messages always.
