[Bug 238034] New: kaddressbook: bigger items on the contact list

2010-05-18 Thread Miguel Tadeu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=238034

Summary: kaddressbook: bigger items on the contact list
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: m_ta...@yahoo.com

Version: 4.4.2 (using 4.4.2 (KDE 4.4.2), Kubuntu packages)
Compiler: cc
OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-22-generic

Hi,
with this 3 columns organization of the contact list, I think it would be cool
to have bigger list items for the address books and for the contacts. With
bigger items we would be able to see the contacts photos much better and get a
nice icon for the address books.

Thanx a lot for all

I obtained a crash and stack trace from Kontact v4.4.2. Given the number of
years that this bug has been opened, as well as the large number of duplicates,
can somebody please elevate the priority of this bug so that it gets fixed?
Having Kontact crash a few times daily is more than a minor inconvenience to
business users who rely on email.

2010-05-18 Thread Sabine Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=238056

Summary: Emails no more sent to sent-mail folder when removing
second Local Folders
   Product: KMail 2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: misc
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: sab...@kdab.net

Version:(using Devel)
Compiler: gcc 4.3.2
OS:Linux
Installed from:Compiled sources

- Launch Kmail
- Send an email
- The email is sent correctly and stored in the sent-mail folder as it should

- Wait until you get at least two 'Local Folders' folder
- Send an email
- The email is properly sent but story in one of the 'Local Folders' folder
- Go to Settings menu/Configure Kmail and click on Accounts
- Delete the offline 'Local Folders'
- Click on 'Ok'
- Try sending another email. It still is stored in the Local Folders

- Go to Settings menu/Configure Kmail and click on Identities
- Double click on your set identity
- A pop up error message appears: 'The custom sent-mail folder for identity
'IdentityName' does not exist (anymore); therefore, the default sent-mail
folder will be used.
- Click on 'Ok'
- One message per folder from the default 'Local Folders' folders will appear
saying the same (ex: drafts, templates...)
- Click on 'Ok' several time and close the Configure dialogue when done
- Send another email

The email is sent and stored in the 'sent-email' folder as it should.

[Bug 237296] KTextEdit: 'Start of Line' regular expression search fails

--- Comment #4 from David Faure faure kde org 2010-05-18 18:37:01 ---
SVN commit 1128196 by dfaure:

Fix start of line (^) and end of line ($) regular expressions when the
whole text is fed to KFind rather than line by line.

This is basically hitting a documented limitation of QRegExp (no support for
the equivalent of perl's /m) and splitting
the text into lines in the case where the regexp starts with ^ or ends with $.

I had the same problem about three times, in a year. Maybe have somethingto do
with KDE version updates.

I think that this bug shouldn't be marked as duplicate of bug 192778, but the
failure 192778 should be marked as a duplicate of this one.

A duplicate of the Local Folders appears randomly while doing nothing on the
computer (I was away and when I came back I had two of them).

It is impossible to reproduce on purpose and at will at the moment.

However both 'Local Folders' cannot work simultaneously. One as to be removed:
- Go to Settings menu/Configure Kmail and click on Accounts
- Delete the offline 'Local Folders' if there is one otherwise delete both of
them.
- A new 'Local Folders' is automatically created
- Click on 'Ok'

For the emails to be stored properly again in the sent-mail folder once sent
follow those steps:
- Go to Settings menu/Configure Kmail and click on Identities
- Double click on your set identity
- A pop up error message appears: 'The custom sent-mail folder for identity
'IdentityName' does not exist (anymore); therefore, the default sent-mail
folder will be used.
- Click on 'Ok'
- One message per folder from the default 'Local Folders' folders will appear
saying the same (ex: drafts, templates...)
- Click on 'Ok' several time and close the Configure dialogue when done
- Quit and relaunch Kmail
- Sent emails are stored in the 'sent-email' folder again as they should.

I reported bug #238056 about storing the sent emails in the sent-email folder
again (ref comment 3 above) so that the two bugs are dissociated.

- Double click on the identity
- Go to the 'Cryptography' tab and enter both your OpenPGP signing and

[Bug 213662] stale attempts at checking IMAP accounts blocks new attempts at fetching mail

Hi

To reproduce this, just take the network out from under Kontact and try to
check email using IMAP accounts.
Kontact just sits there with the message Retrieving folder contents in the
main window.

It makes using Kontact a pain (try switching networks or using a 3G connection
with Kontact). Is there a way to fix this (maybe IMAP configuration ?) -- if
not, is it possible to get this fixed ? It's been hanging around for a few
releases now.

Thanks

SVN commit 1128337 by dfaure:

Make search/replace much faster (when using 'replace all' i.e. no
prompt-on-replace), by not moving the text cursor every time,
by wrapping everything into a single undo command (which is also a bugfix), and
by still moving the cursor to the last
replacement.
BUG: 48541
FIXED IN: 4.5
(yep, 8 years later)

Hello,

I'm seeing this on three computers. All of them run Kubuntu Lucid (10.04) with
kde 4.4.3 (from PPA)

Nothing more to add right now.

Regards,
Norberto
