---
I can confirm this. This seems related to KAddressbook's switch to Akonadi. I
replaced my default address book with several smaller ones (friends, job, ...).
Kontact's summary view can handle these but KMail and KOrganizer can not.

   Product: kmail

OS/Version: Linux

It seems, that searching for a mail fulltext, many (offline-)folders with many
mails, slows down kmail and the whole system.
And if I leave the search-window (to go to the last-search-folder, e.g.) the
search continues in the background, but this time without possibility to stop
it.

I do have the same problem in my installation of KDE 4.4.4. I fully agree to
Kumaran, that the situation ist inacceptabel!

- Stopping to release unfinished and untested software is the best way to
return to a situation of stability

- Removing fields in the address book that is used by thousands of users
without giving them a way to save there data, is inacceptable

Thanks to Kumaran that he put all the information together in this one bug
report. For sure this is far more than a single bug. The question of
development and release of the addressbook should be part of the central
coordination of KDE development and release management.

Regards, Martin

[Bug 241841] New: Address book adds \n to field Family Name

2010-06-15 Thread Martin L ü c h e m
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=241841

Summary: Address book adds \n to field Family Name
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: heinric...@gmx.de
CC: to...@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

When exporting an address book at the end of the field Family Name an \n
will be added. There is no way to edit this within KAddressbook. The effect is,
that e.g. serial letters in Open Office will not work (via OO database)

Reproducible: Didn't try

[Bug 241882] New: KMail Crashes When queuing multiple operations

2010-06-15 Thread Aaron W . Hsu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=241882

Summary: KMail Crashes When queuing multiple operations
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.3
  Platform: Slackware Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: arcf...@sacrideo.us

Application: kmail (1.13.3)
KDE Platform Version: 4.4.3 (KDE 4.4.3)
Qt Version: 4.6.2
Operating System: Linux 2.6.33.4 x86_64
Distribution (Platform): Slackware Packages

-- Information about the crash:
I'm not sure what operation is causing the problem here, but when I delete more
than one message or I am queuing up multiple operations, especially when
combining operations which write and read from the folder (E.G. -- Moveing a
few messages, and while those operations are copmleting, delete another
message, and further still select a new message to read or move), I'll get this
sort of crash. I can replicate it pretty reliably, but I haven't figured out
exactly what causes it aside from just queuing up a lot of operations in
semi-rapid succession.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

[Bug 241883] New: Akonadi registration or initialization fails

2010-06-15 Thread Martin L ü c h e m
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=241883

Summary: Akonadi registration or initialization fails
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Debian testing
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: server
AssignedTo: vkra...@kde.org
ReportedBy: heinric...@gmx.de
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Linux

This is far away from beiing able to describe correctly. When starting KMail I
get a message from the Akonadi test console like that:

Der QtSQL-Treiber „QMYSQL“ wird von Ihrer aktuellen
Akonadi-Serverkonfiguration benötigt und er wurde auf Ihrem System gefunden.

The message is absolutely sensless and seems to be wrong even when I interpret
it the other way around. I checked my Debian ressources for QMYSQL and nothing
is found. This for sure should not be a bug with my installation because I
never installed Akonadi packages as local ressources. No, it is obviously that
the configuration / registration of Akonadi was not initialized correctly. But
I try to use this system productively and need a solution like providing a
packages that fixes this bug.

Sorry but messing arond with this every time the system is started is annoying!

Regards, Martin

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
nothing special Ijust start my system

Actual Results:
not really possible. Maybe thereis a difference when starting kontact or
starting kmail or first starting kaddressbook.

Expected Results:
some times the error described above sometimes another one with akonadi

OS: Linux (x86_64) release 2.6.32-5-amd64
Compiler: cc
