[Bug 243823] New: dbus excesive usage makes plasma and kscreenlocker unresponsive
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=243823 Summary: dbus excesive usage makes plasma and kscreenlocker unresponsive Product: KMail 2 Version: 2.0 beta1 Platform: Compiled Sources OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: jtam...@gmail.com Version: 2.0 beta1 (using Devel) OS:Linux First of all, I do not know where this bug should be placed. dbus, akonadi or kmail2. When syncing a folder (the gmail total folder) with around 50.000 mails stored, akonadi_imap seems to use dbus to comunicate with kmail2 or whatever. In a normal session, dbus cpu usage is 1%. In this situation, dbus cpu usage is 20%. At some time, plasma makes a dbus call and it is so far in the dbus queue that looks blocked. The same happens to kscreenlock when it wants to show the unlock dialog. Changing akonadi_imap nice to 20 alleviates the problem a little bit, but it will happen again and again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: to have stored a lot of kmail bugs mails. Expected Results: reduce the dbus usage or make dbus use several queues (or a special queue for akonadi) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 243826] New: KMail2 does not complete the initial synchronization of a disconnected imap account
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=243826 Summary: KMail2 does not complete the initial synchronization of a disconnected imap account Product: KMail 2 Version: 2.0 beta1 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: stava...@unina.it Version: 2.0 beta1 (using Devel) OS:Linux I have around 20 folders in my emai account, where the Inbox folder has ~25k emails (occupying ~6GB) while the other folders contain less messages (100 on average). I did not use the migrator, as I started with a newly created user. I also disabled nepomuk in the system settings. Using the wizard that appears on the first launch of kmail, I tried to create a disconnected imap account (by checking download messages for offline use). The akonadi imap resource started synchronizing a folder with 400 messages (occupying 45MB) but never completed the synchronization. I tried three times with no success (every time deleting .kde4, .local, .config). Suddenly, the akonadi imap resource became idle and since then there was no progress. Clicking on such folder to view the message list does not show any message in the folder, despite the .local/share/akonadi/db_data folder had grown up to 4-5 GB. After relaunching kmail, I got an error message saying that akonadi was unable to start (with many errors in the log) and kmail closed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Start with a fresh kde account, launch kmail and try to create a disconnected imap account. Actual Results: The creation of the disconnected imap account fails (it seems it will never end) Expected Results: The creation of the disconnected imap account terminates successfully -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 243829] New: KMail2 takes all the cpu and too much time to process and group messages in an imap folder
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=243829 Summary: KMail2 takes all the cpu and too much time to process and group messages in an imap folder Product: KMail 2 Version: 2.0 beta1 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: stava...@unina.it Version: 2.0 beta1 (using Devel) OS:Linux I have around 20 folders in my emai account, where the Inbox folder has ~25k emails (occupying ~6GB) while the other folders contain less messages (100 on average). I did not use the migrator, as I started with a newly created user. I also disabled nepomuk in the system settings. After launching kmail, I tried (by using the wizard) to create an online imap account (thus by not checking download messages for offline use). The synchronization was successful and now I can see all the emails in my folders. However, there are two annoying issues: - processing and grouping emails is very slow and takes all my cpu. For instance, processing and grouping threads for my inbox takes around 10 seconds, while with kmail 4.4 (and disconnected imap account) took ~1 second. - deleting messages in kmail does not delete emails from the imap server. Indeed, after some time, deleted messages re-appear in my folders. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Create an online imap account and use kmail2 -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

Interestingly, KMail is set to collect mail every x minutes, and this automatic check does not trigger the issue - this message only appears upon manually clicking the Check Mail button (can't envision why there would be two different internal methods of checking mail - I'm an end user and don't know how the internals work of course). [Bug 243832] New: sieve can't login because of enum mistmatch between kmail and imap_resource
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=243832 Summary: sieve can't login because of enum mistmatch between kmail and imap_resource Product: Akonadi Version: 4.5 Platform: Compiled Sources OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: IMAP resource AssignedTo: er...@kde.org ReportedBy: fa...@kde.org CC: vkra...@kde.org, kdepim-bugs@kde.org Version: 4.5 (using Devel) OS:Linux KMail::Util::findSieveUrlForAccount calls authentication() on the imapsettings dbus interface, and treats it as a KIMAP::LoginJob enum. But the imap resource implements authentication() as a MailTransport::Transport::EnumAuthenticationType::type. So my imap (on mail.kdab.com) auth type of Plain gets wrongly converted to ANONYMOUS, and the sieve kioslave doesn't manage to log in. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1) Configure an IMAP account (e.g. on mail.kdab.com) 2) Settings / Manage sieve scripts. Actual Results: Authorization failed, Authentication failed. Most likely the password is wrong. The server responded: NO Authentication Error authentication not supported I asked Kevin and he told me that the code was using the KIMAP::LoginJob enum initially and has been changed to use the MailTransport enum later on. I indeed remember the migration issue caused by that. Isn't the right fix, to avoid forcing our users through that migration problem, to go back to the KIMAP::LoginJob enum? This would fix the migration issue -and- fix the bad enum conversion that makes it impossible to edit sieve scripts currently. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are on the CC list for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=243888 --- Comment #1 from Sabine Faure sabine kdab net 2010-07-07 22:14:21 --- As Sergio pointed out it maybe in fact that the email is not sent: I tried sending an email (following the same steps as describe above) from my desktop using kde 4.4 and it was correctly received by the imap ressource on my laptop using trunk. [Bug 228698] Addressbook crypto settings are no longer respected
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=228698 Sylvain Demers deme...@gmail.com changed: What|Removed |Added CC||deme...@gmail.com --- Comment #1 from Sylvain Demers demerss gmail com 2010-07-08 04:40:01 --- Same thing here, except in reverse: I have only one contact with whom I sign and encrypt, and that contact's crypto settings set to always sign and ask for encryption. Those settings are now ignored. I can still manually select sign and encrypt from the toolbar while composing the email, but that defeats the purpose of the contact crypto settings in the first place. [Bug 220297] Kmail delete message no longer centers next selected message in message list
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=220297 --- Comment #2 from kropps spiritone com 2010-07-08 06:18:24 --- I find it annoying that kmail is always shifting the message list to keep the selected line in the center. Not only is it more difficult to keep my bearings than if the message list is stationary, but the shifting is not smooth and it slows down the window update. Message display is already slowed down enough, compared to a few versions ago. So rather than see the above behavior as a bug, I would like to see it as an option. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 144145] Scrolling behavior in message list
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144145 --- Comment #1 from kropps spiritone com 2010-07-08 06:38:49 --- A long time ago, kmail was not so eager to center the current message in the message list. Rather, it behaved exactly like you want. Unfortunately that changed somewhere along the way, and I too dislike its behavior. Not only is it visually disconcerting for the list to be jumping around all the time, but it slows the screen updates down as well. I agree that there should be an option to scroll either way. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
