[Bug 254742] getting a conflict for all appointments on the first sync

2010-10-21 Thread Volker Krause
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254742

--- Comment #1 from Volker Krause vkrause kde org 2010-10-21 08:41:07 ---
Is this limited to some folders or does this happen for each and every
appointment? If the first, does the folder contain duplicated mails (they could
trigger the conflict)?

[Bug 254742] getting a conflict for all appointments on the first sync

--- Comment #2 from Bernhard E. Reiter bernhard intevation de 2010-10-21

I cannot say if this is limited to some folders, it might be.
The folder I got it now has 320 entries, I cannot manually go through them
to check if I get conflicts in another folder.
The same folder is used by myself with e35 and e4 desktop client, which
I would expect to flag any real conflict there is. So I am 99% sure this
is an artifact of Kontact Mobile.

Of course it is not know if there are double emails in the local cache
(aka akonadi). I can try and check this with akonadi-console.

On Windows Mobile the kolab ressource is also not shown only an empty field in
the account list that can be selected. When hitting edit on that field the
kolab edit menu shows up.
No contents from this ressource are shown in the applications though. And it
cant be selected in the editors.

Mabye you could try to
1) start Calendar
2) start Mail (without closing calendar)

In one snapshot version I observed the (kolab-)calendar resource coming to live
only if i started Mail.

After discussion with Volker and Bjoern Ricks it was decided to close this bug
as invalid. Reason:

Even though the Kolab wizard creates an SMTP account, sending and receiving
accounts are separate things managed separately. It would be considerable
effort to implement a feature like this and is considered out of scope for the
KOMO project.

[Bug 254872] New: kaddressbook: adding contact via mouseclik in kmail leads to duplicate if already existing

2010-10-21 Thread Mathias
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=254872

Summary: kaddressbook: adding contact via mouseclik in kmail
leads to duplicate if already existing
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: math...@public-ip.org
CC: to...@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.4.5)
OS:Linux

If I right-click on an email address in kmail and choose Add Address to
Addressbook it adds this contact to the addressbook regardless if it is
already there, thus filling the addressbook with duplicates. In former versions
(of the interface between kmail and kaddressbook or one of the two?) kmail
warned me that the entry already exists and not has been added again.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
right-click on an email address in kmail and choose Add Address to
Addressbook

Actual Results:
kmail/kaddressbook adds this address to the addressbook - also if it already
exists

Expected Results:
kmail should warn me that the entry already exists and not has been added again

System: Gentoo 64bit, kernel 2.6.34-r11, kmail 1.13.5, kaddressbook 4.4.5

[Bug 77862] kio_imap processes hang when connection status changes

David Faure fa...@kde.org changed:

 CC||fa...@kde.org

--- Comment #85 from David Faure faure kde org 2010-10-22 00:43:04 ---
Dropping the connection as soon as the IP address goes away is not a good
solution. In particular, it would make kmail lose the connection more often
when using it in a flaky (unstable) network connection, for instance airport
wifi. The way it works with TCP
connections is that if you get the same IP address again later, the
communication will resume. But if kmail drops the connection immediately when
losing the IP, then it behaves
worse than currently, in such a situation...
I talked to the Qt networking people today, and they agreed.

How about just
1) making the timeout shorter (60s instead of 600s or responseTimeout() which
defaults to 600 anyway) (at least with responseTimeout() the users can adjust
the timeout in a config file, but the default of 10 minutes makes this
inpractical for this issue, I think), and:
2) keeping the error handling part of your patch

Does this already make things better?

[Bug 163071] Crash when deleting messages from inbox

--- Comment #181 from Kai Krakow kai kaishome de 2010-10-22 03:07:02 ---
Created an attachment (id=52741)
 -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=52741)
New crash information added by DrKonqi

KMail crashed while I was organizing my mails into DIMAP folders. I was using
the filter bar to filter mails, mark all, move them to a folder. Then I moved
to the next folder, filtered, moved mails. Then I stayed in that folder,
filtered for another keyword, and moved these mails to the same folder as last
time. System started to choke (slow interactive performance, harddisk
thrashing), then KMail crashed.

 Hej Chris,

is this bug reproducable? Unfortunately the attached backtrace doesn't give
me any clue about the problem.

 Ciao,
 Tobias

Hello Tobias,

The bug was reproducable but only on one entry. I couldn't open the group
entry, but I could (and have) deleted it. It was an old entry, probably empty.

I do have backup's, so probably could locate the address book file(s).

Regards,

Chris
