When applications crash during startup (e.g. because of out of memory) the
Splash screen is not hidden and the user is not notified about a problem.

When you minimize the splashscreen through hardware buttons (Home button) You
can close the splashscreen, causing it to be no longer shown until you restart
the device.

[Bug 263601] many windows bigger than screen and not scrollable

Hej Ludwig,

the dialog does not match on the screen but you have scroll bars now to reach
each part of the dialog. This was not possible previously.
The ideal solution would be to rewrite the GUI to make it mobile aware, but
this is out-of-scope for this project. We just made it possible to access every
functionality of Kleopatra with the additional scroll bars.

Ciao,
Tobias

I did upload new clucene packages in our extra repo which include conflict and
replaces entries. This doesn't solve your problem but will give you an error
message before installing or upgrading.

[Bug 265694] New: Kontact crashed after producing a corrupted index warning

2011-02-07 Thread sam

Summary: Kontact crashed after producing a corrupted index

  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR

AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Application: kontact (4.4.6)
KDE Platform Version: 4.5.1 (KDE 4.5.1)
Qt Version: 4.7.0
Operating System: Linux 2.6.35-25-generic i686
Distribution: Ubuntu 10.10

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

* Started Kontact and clicked on the Sync button
* sync of several imap accounts on a kolab server begins
* one of the accounts has a folder that had emails moved in and out in a
previous session on another workstation. Kontact produces a warning that this
folder has a corrupt index (probably a reference to the local imap cache
index.)
* (I waited for all the other accounts to finish their sync - the account with
the corrupted index did not proceed as I did not click the okay button on the
warning message.)
* after all the other accounts were finished I clicked the okay button on the
warning message. kontact immediately crashed.

Thanks, as always, for your excellent service.

 also using gentoo ?

which akonadi version ? (akonadictl --version)
 which kde version ?

Do you have a better backtrace than the original one ?

Switching back to akonadi 1.4.1 resolves the problem.
Indeed akonadi 1.5.0 is not yet in gentoo stable tree.

[Bug 203251] column size kmail list

Can still confirm this bug with kmail --version
Qt: 4.7.0
KDE: 4.6.00 (4.6.0)
KMail: 2.0.89

For me the columns are always too narrow, seems like an internal, type-specific
default value is always taken instead of some logged settings. This behaviour
significantly reduces useability of kmail, which is functionally already quite
good.

Thanks Dario. Removing the clock from the panel eliminated plasma-desktop
crashes, for now.

Can someone CONFIRM this bug, and set it to block 4.6.1? I think it is a really
major issue.

[Bug 265589] GroupDAV resource crashes when selected in Akonadi Console

2011-02-07 Thread Grégory Oestreicher
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265589

--- Comment #3 from Grégory Oestreicher greg kamago net 2011-02-07 22:38:51

Hi Ingo,

I'm still not able to compile the latest DAV resource on Kubuntu 10.10. One
issue is the missing kcalcore. Then I had to hack through the CMakeLists.txt,
as I guess you did, to change the minimum versions required. Even if I was able
to compile the resource, I would have put a big red flag on using such
versions.

As a final note, and as you are using eGroupware, can you try to apply the
changes mentioned in this bug report :
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265096 and tell me if that helps.

Cheers,
Grégory

I can confirm this bug:

when I reply to multipart (multipart/alternative composed of text/plain;
charset=ISO-8859-2 + text/html; charset=ISO-8859-2) messages with accented
chars in them, the characters in reply are garbled (while the original message
renders okay). I'll attach a screenshot.

This does not happen when original message is not multipart, but simple
text/plain or text/html

[Bug 265763] New: KDE logout creates errors in server, control logs

2011-02-07 Thread Will Stephenson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265763

Summary: KDE logout creates errors in server, control logs
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 1.5.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: wstephen...@kde.org

Version: 1.5.0 (using KDE 4.6.0)
OS:Linux

kdepim 4.4.10

After a logout with Kontact quit by session management, the self-test dialog is
shown on next login, due to errors in the previous Akonadi server and control
logs, which are only
D-Bus session bus went down, quitting
There are no other errors.

Either this should not be logged as an error if it happens during logout, or
the fault is that Akonadi is taking too long to perform a session-managed quit
and is still around when the bus goes down.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Configure an imap account in Kontact on a new user account, fetch mail once,
logout. login again, observe scary self-test dialog

[Bug 265589] GroupDAV resource crashes when selected in Akonadi Console

2011-02-07 Thread Ingo Ratsdorf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=265589

Hi Grégory,

I applied the mentioned patch which seems to make the pre KCalCore groupdav
resource work without throwing warnings about invalid data.
Yet it has no influence on the latest groupdav resource.
I used wireshark to trace HTTP requests and responses.
All REPORT calls seem to go through fine, but EVERY TIME the groupdav sends a
GET and received a (good looking) response from the server, the resource will
crash. Very funny.
This is a typical request and response directly before the resource crashes:

I'll try to recompile and see what happens. This is all too strange.

Cheers.
