(In reply to comment #26)
What serious regressions? It was working fine for me in kdepim version
 4.4.11.

The only regression I've seen is that bug 247473 is back now in kdepim 4.6.1
 because the patch was reverted...

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=271640 is the regression

I did an update to akonadi-server-1.6.0 and kdepim-4.6.1.
I did not have ExternalPayload in my current akonadiserverrc (I had to wipe out
akonadi-configs as there was an issue - don't know exactly anymore, when and
what, but new configs were the solution.)

BUT:
The mentioned change in 1.6.0 did NOT fix this issue! Still showing the
Retrieving Folder Contents page, although the mail was downloaded
successfully.

(And now I have a completely english kmail, german translations are not
loaded... Finally cought this bug, too :D)

[Bug 274973] conflicts caused by marking messages as ignored

2011-07-16 Thread S . Burmeister
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=274973

--- Comment #2 from S. Burmeister sven burmeister gmx net 2011-07-16
10:11:43 ---
Another way to trigger this is to filter imap messages to a local folder where
the thread they belong to is marked as ignored.

One opens the local folder with the ignored thread.
Tells kontact to go offline/online.
It starts to pull new messages for the imap account
It filters the messages to the local folder and puts the email that belongs to
the ignored thread into it and marks it as ignored (this fails sometimes, then
the conflict does not occur)
The email is added to the thread and marked as ignored and a pop-up comes up
which compares an empty version with the actual email on the right-hand side.

No other clients accessing the imap account.

I am experiencing the same problem with a pop3\smtp account while sending an
email. I got:
could not send the message: Could not save result into the element. Unknown
error. (NO Unable to create flag )
I can receive mail from pop3 without problem ( could not test imap because i
don't have an imap account )
I am using kmail : 2.1.96
Postgresql : 9.0.3
Opensuse 11.4 x64

The interesting thing is that using mysql as backend solves the issue. It seems
a problem related to a query which saves the sent message!

I do not know if this is related but i've accidentally started kontact without
kdepim-runtime installed and then i could reproduce this behavior 100%
You start Kontact, close it and the process is still around.

I've killed it with -11 (sigsev) to get a backtrace but i do not find it
paticluary useful maybe someone can see something from it so it's attached. In

[Bug 277905] New: Old knotes part incompatible with kjots component on kolab server

2011-07-16 Thread Heiner Markert
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277905

Summary: Old knotes part incompatible with kjots component on
kolab server
   Product: kontact
   Version: 4.6 beta5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: notes
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: mephi...@gmx.net

Version: 4.6 beta5 (using KDE 4.6.2)
OS:Linux

I run a kolab server version 2.4, and have been using KDE3 kontact for a long
time. Recently I experimented with the upcoming akonadi-based kontact, which
seems to be working fine on linux, except for one issue:
Notes created with the knotes component in KDE3/older KDE4 clients on the kolab
server are displayed as raw rich text without applying the formatting - lists
get almost unreadable due to the large number of tags.

Vice versa, notes created with the new kjots component and stored on the kolab
server do not display at all in older KDE3 or KDE4 clients based on knotes.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
a) Set up kolab server.
Create note in KDE3 Kontact with knotes on it, using rich text format.
Use KDE4 kontact to read it.

b) Set up kolab server.
Create note in recent KDE4 client using kjots component on the server.
Use KDE3 Kontact or older KDE4 version using knotes component to read the
notes.

Actual Results:
a) Displays raw rich text.

b) The note created earlier does not appear at all.

Expected Results:
a) Contents of note should be displayed with correct formatting applied.

b) Note should appear, it should be able to read/modify it with knotes.

Unfortunatly, today I was not able to reproduce the bug anymore. Although I did
not use my Windows system since writing the bug, besides installing some
security updates, the problem seems to have disappeared. When I wrote the
report, I tried to reboot my machine two times, and was able to reproduce the
behavior reliably.

When I am able to reproduce, I will send the requested attachment. However, I
have no idea what could have changed on my system.

[Bug 277911] New: kmail tray icon jumps around and prevents the use of the right click context menu.

2011-07-16 Thread Philip Muskovac
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277911

Summary: kmail tray icon jumps around and prevents the use of
the right click context menu.
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.0.95
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: yo...@gmx.net

Version: 2.0.95 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

As you can see in the linked video the kmail tray icon jumps or shows/hides,
not sure so fast and closes the right click context menu of every other (kde?)
applications tray icon when jumping making it impossible to use it. Once the
icon stops jumping you can use the context menu again.

http://people.ubuntu.com/~yofel/jumping_kmail.ogv

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Seems to happen when you fetch mail, while kmail is idle the tray icon is
quiet.
So fetching a hundred mails over IMAP from my LKML folder is enough to trigger
it, so:
- open kmail
- fetch a lot of mails with tray icon enabled.

Actual Results:
The tray icon jumps/flashes.

Expected Results:
The tray icon should stay in a fixed position in the tray.

[Bug 277912] New: Can't use my IMAP account's trash folder.

2011-07-16 Thread Philip Muskovac
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=277912

Summary: Can't use my IMAP account's trash folder.
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.0.95
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: yo...@gmx.net

Version: 2.0.95 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

I tried to set the trash folder for my IMAP account to the trash folder of that
account, so my mails stay synchronised and I don't mix mails between my IMAP
accounts. What kmail2 does is set the Trash folder to 'Trash' no matter what
accounts trash folder I select which is in fact the local trash folder and not
what I want.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
-Set up IMAP account.
-In the account settings click on 'modify' so the Akonadi Resource window comes
up.
-Go to advanced
-Set new Trash folder

Actual Results:
The field always shows 'Trash' as destination and the local trash folder is
used when deleting mails.

Expected Results:
The Path to the IMAP accounts trash folder should show up in the settings field
and deleted mails should be moved to that folder.

The submenu should appear when the button has been pressed (no matter where)
for over ~1 second. If this doesn't work for you my guess would be that there
is an issue with your setup. What distro, Qt version, KDE version are you
using?
