[Bug 284172] New: Kmail does not correctly recognize some IMAP-Inbox-Folders
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284172 Summary: Kmail does not correctly recognize some IMAP-Inbox-Folders Product: kmail2 Version: 4.7 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: jannis.m...@gmail.com Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2) OS:Linux I use kmail2 with several IMAP-Accounts. Most of them work just fine. I have one account though, where the main inbox-folder is not recognized as a mail-folder. Instead kmail seems to handle it like a top-level-container. This means that I am unable to see the mail in the inbox. I am also unable to manually copy mail into it (when I try to drag-and-drop a mail into the folder, kmail shows me the unable to copy sign). All the mail in subfolders of the inbox-folder can be accessed without problems. As other accounts do work it seems to be a problem with the specific combination of this account and kmail2. The same account does work with thunderbird and kmail1. Reproducible: Couldn't Reproduce Steps to Reproduce: As this bug seems to be account-specific, I don't know how to provide information on how to reproduce it. Expected Results: The folder should be recognized as a normal IMAP-inbox-folder. [Bug 284183] New: Kmail does not send localmail when offline
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284183 Summary: Kmail does not send localmail when offline Product: kmail2 Version: 4.7 Platform: Unlisted Binaries OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: jayesh.badwai...@gmail.com Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2) OS:Linux I have a local mail service setup using postfix. It is possible to send the local mail when the computer is connected to the network. However, it is not able to send it when the computer is offline. I am able to send the mail when the computer is offline using the command line, but same settings when used with kmail justs queues up the mail in the outbox. I even tried using the sendmail sending account in kmail to specify the exact command to be used to send the mail. However, even that does not work. It works from the command line though. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Create a local mail postfix setup as given here https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Local_Mail_Delivery_with_Postfix. Verify the mail sends when the computer is connected to a network. $ mail -s test user $ sendmail -t user@localhost Create sending accounts (both smtp and sendmail for localhost) Verify that both work when network is connected. Disconnect the network. Verify the mail is sent using the mail and sendmail arguments Try to send mail using kmail. It is not possible Actual Results: Mail is not sent. It gets queued up in outbox. Expected Results: Mail should be sent. I think the problem is with the Mail Dispatcher Agent which goes offline in the absence of the network. It handles all mail and it was not possible to send the mail when mail dispatcher agent was off earlier. Either the problem is with the mail dispatcher agent or with the kmail. In any case, once i specify which command to use to send the mail (as I do in the sendmail sending account in kmail, kmail should work if command works without worrying about what the mail dispatcher says about it). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 284192] New: KMail-controlled interval e-mail checking (or: offlining IMAP sources after use)
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284192 Summary: KMail-controlled interval e-mail checking (or: offlining IMAP sources after use) Product: kmail2 Version: 4.7 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: gspreem...@gmail.com Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.1) OS:Linux If I understand Akonadi and its relationship with KMail correctly, e-mail sources (say IMAP accounts) are now managed by Akonadi. Interval checking is a property of each such source. When I start KDE without starting KMail, the Akonadi e-mail sources are in the offine state. When I start KMail, they go online. When I close KMail, the e-mail sources remain online and interval checking continues. This is not desirable for me. Indeed, I think most users would like their IMAP connections to close when they close their e-mail program (or rather, when they close the last program using the IMAP accounts as sources). This is probably even more true on laptops, where keeping the connection open is a needless waste of battery. Would it therefore not be better if either: 1) KMail controls the interval checking instead of the IMAP sources themselves. 2) When the last program using an IMAP Akonadi resource, that resource goes offline. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Start KMail. Check e-mail. Close KMail. Actual Results: All IMAP connections remain, and interval e-mail checking (if enabled) continues indefinitely (or until the user uses Akonadi console to explicitly disconnect the IMAP sources). Expected Results: IMAP connections should go offline when no program is using them. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 284224] New: maildir resource does not become AgentBase::Broken when started without a valid maildir path
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284224 Summary: maildir resource does not become AgentBase::Broken when started without a valid maildir path Product: Akonadi Version: 4.8 Platform: Compiled Sources OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: Maildir Resource AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: wstephen...@kde.org Since 4.6.0 we've been seeing maildir resources with broken configs. When these are migrated to 4.7, kmail2 refuses to start with Failed to fetch the resource collection because the SpecialCollections provided by local maildir resources are not present. On viewing the resource in akonadiconsole from 4.6.0 to current master, the resource state is still Ready - this should be Broken. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
