[Bug 291744] New: Inline-forwarded HTML message: delimiter has formatting of last paragraph

2012-01-17 Thread Bernd Oliver Sünderhauf
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291744

Summary: Inline-forwarded HTML message: delimiter has
formatting of last paragraph
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.8
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: pan...@kriko.org

Version: 4.8 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

After an inline-forwarded message, the folllowing delimiter is inserted:
-

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
If a HTML message is forwarded, and the last line is centered or
right-aligned...

Actual Results:
... then the delimiter has the same alignment, because it is wrapped into the
same p.

Expected Results:
It should rather be unaligned, so it always appears on the left side for LTR
languages.

[Bug 291745] New: filters not applied on read emails

2012-01-17 Thread tim blechmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291745

Summary: filters not applied on read emails
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.8
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: filtering
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: t...@klingt.org

Version: 4.8 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

i'm running kmail on 2 machines, my laptop and my workstation. the filter rules
are similar, but they do not match, especially the workstation has more filter
rules than the laptop.

however if i read emails in INBOX on my laptop, but the filter rules on the
workstation should move them to a different directory, the filter is not
applied (possibly because it does not filter read emails?). i have to select
the specific mails and apply the filter manually.

seems to be an issue on both 4.7 and 4.8

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
use the same imap account on at least two machines with different filter rules.

Actual Results:
filters are not applied

Expected Results:
filters should be applied

[Bug 291746] New: sometimes imap accounts are not updated any more

2012-01-17 Thread tim blechmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291746

Summary: sometimes imap accounts are not updated any more
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.8
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: t...@klingt.org

Version: 4.8 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

i am using kmail with an imap account. sometimes the imap account stops being
updated. kmail is still usable, but new emails do not show up. `check emails'
does have no effect. the only way to restore the functionality is to stop kmail
and to restart akonadi. sometimes it stops working after like 10 minutes,
sometimes it works for an hour.

could be either a deadlock or a starvation.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
use kmail with an imap account and hope for the worst.
deadlocks or starvations are hard to reproduce. instead of testing, a detailed
code analysis may be required.

Expected Results:
kmail should fetch new mails from an imap account.

[Bug 205713] KOrganizerPart crashes the application when it is embedded to show an ICS file (on Krusader as example) [null QWidget::window, QWidget::topLevelWidget, KOrganizerPart, KPluginFactory::cre

I still see the crash on ics files in KDE 4.7.4 and krusader 2.4.0-beta1 (git),
gentoo.

In Krusader:
hit F3 on any ics-file -- crash
hit F4 on any ics-file -- works, I can edit the file; view the file in
text/hex/lister mode works as well;
switching to generic viewing mode from edit mode results in a crash again.

Any idea how to fix this?

Actually the engine should make sure that the %TEXT placeholder in the template
doesn't only start a new part for the forwarded message but also closes it
before any other text is added.

So there should be:
/p/body/html
--nextPart5046485.7ExqpUvGYG--

before anything else is added.

Same behave here with OpenSuSE 12.1 and
kdebase4-workspace-4.7.2-6.4.1.x86_64
akonadi-runtime-1.6.2-3.1.2.x86_64

If I try to access google calendar resource via remote ics file, plasma desktop
crashes removing the clockbar and all the widget also in the desktop.
Windows decoration, shortcut and windows behaviour seem to continue working.

Another information regarded my installation

my Graphic card is ATI with fglrx enabled, I don't know if this is a related
issue.

I found an article telling how to restart plasma-desktop after a crash under
kde4
(http://www.humbug.in/2010/killquit-and-restart-plasma-on-kde/)

if I start from kbuildsycoca4, I have an error that I can't understand:

diego@pc-diego:~ kbuildsycoca4
kbuildsycoca4 running...
kbuildsycoca4(9310) parseLayoutNode: The menu spec file contains a Layout or
DefaultLayout tag without the mandatory Merge tag inside. Please fix your file.
diego@pc-diego:~

what does it mean? (I had also removed the /tmp/kde-diego/ksycoca4, while I
figured out that the kbuildsycoca4 file is /var/tmp/kde-diego/ksycoca4 that I
don't have, in var directory I have /var/tmp/kdecache-diego/ksycoca4) these
directories put in different places?

Just as Thunderbird does, KMail supports these parameters:
  Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=xyz.png
  Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64
  Content-Type: image/png; name=xyz.png

Browsing my inbox, I found a mail that specifies a
  Content-Length: 49655
header for attachments.
It might be a good idea to add this one for all attachments.

However, adding creation time etc. might pose privacy risks as the sender
doesn't expect this data to be included. So if support is added, it should only
be optional.

If one works online the menu entry shows work offline, i.e. clicking on it

If one clicks on it it displays x work online, i.e. a tick and work online.
This mediates that work online is enabled (ticked) – which is obviously
wrong.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
- Open the file menu in kmail2
- click on work offline

Actual Results:
- menu entry switches to x work online

I'd say that this is a feature not a bug, and a quite useful one.

IMHO, smart mode should assume whatever is easiest to use.
If Smart mode just respected whatever is given it was no more smart.

However it might be an idea to add an As given option that displays inline
parts inline and attachment parts as icons.

Unlike attachments, inline parts usually hav no Content-Description, but if
they do, they are listed as attachments which they probably shouldn't.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
View a message with Content-Disposition: inline and Content-Description
set.

Actual Results:
The text part is correctly shown inline, but at the same time it is listed as
attachment in the attachment list.

Expected Results:
The content description IMHO shouldn't have any effect, except for being
displayed in the message structure.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291773

Summary: Improve gmail handling, labels especialy
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
AssignedTo: er...@kde.org
ReportedBy: kara...@karaluh.pl
CC: vkra...@kde.org, kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version: unspecified
OS:Linux

Either create new resource only for gmail or improve existing one to be able to
properly handle gmail labels shit. For example important label/folder
shouldn't be visible at all. Additionaly, markind e-mail as important should
copy the e-mail to the Important label/folder. Trash, Drafts and Sent Mail
should be configured automatically. All the folders/labels shouldn't be
subfolders of [Gmail]. And so on.

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:

[Bug 291796] New: Opening inbox stuck

2012-01-17 Thread Árpi
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291796

   Summary: Opening inbox stuck
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 1.99.0
  Platform: Unlisted Binaries
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: lukacs.ar...@gmail.com

Version: 1.99.0 (using KDE 4.7.3)
OS:Linux

Clicking folder Inbox on the folder list opens the message list, but if I
click a message, it cannot open the message. The status remains Synchronizing
folder Inbox forewer.
This only happens after starting up the computer. Kmail starts up after login,
and downloads new messages (via pop3) automatically. Filters move messages to
other folders. However, many messages remain in the Maildir, under inbox/new.
If I stop akonadi, remove these files, and start kmail again, it can start
normally, and open messages.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Shut down the computer with kmail running.
2. Start it up again, log in, kmail comes up.
3. Wait till kmail downloads messages, and filters file them into folders.
4. Open inbox.
5. Click a message in the message list.

Actual Results:
The message is not opened, a message is displayed that asks the user to wait.
Status remains Synchronizing folder inbox forever. Progress bar remains at 0
%.

Expected Results:
The message should be opened :)

[Bug 291801] New: KMail hangs in a futex call

2012-01-17 Thread Dan Vratil
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291801

Summary: KMail hangs in a futex call
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.8
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: d...@progdan.cz

Version: 4.8 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

When I try to open INBOX on an IMAP account KMail hangs. Strace
shows that it always hangs in a futex call.

I think it is caused by a race condition because when I run KMail
in strace, I'm unable to reproduce the issue (it's obviously running slower).
It only happens when I run KMail on it's own, strace -p `pidof kmail` of
the frozen KMail then shows

$ strace -p `pidof kmail`
Process 5672 attached - interrupt to quit
futex(0x7f546fcac8a0, FUTEX_WAIT_PRIVATE, 2, NULL

It happens only with INBOX, other folders can be opened and I can switch
between emails. It freezes sometimes when I switch between emails to
quickly (but only sometimes, does not seem to be regular).

Let me know if you need any more information.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1) run KMail with IMAP account
2) open INBOX
3) KMail freezes
4) strace -p `pidof kmail` will show it hangs in futex()

Actual Results:
KMail freezes

Expected Results:
KMail should not freeze :)

[Bug 291831] New: Akonadi hangs when KMail retrieves message containing calendar invitation

2012-01-17 Thread Matt Whitlock
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=291831

Summary: Akonadi hangs when KMail retrieves message containing
calendar invitation
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
AssignedTo: er...@kde.org
ReportedBy: k...@mattwhitlock.name
CC: vkra...@kde.org, kdepim-bugs@kde.org

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.7.4)
OS:Linux

When I receive a message containing a calendar invitation and open it in KMail,
the message displays (though the actual calendar MIME part doesn't), and then
no further communication between KMail and Akonadi is possible. I cannot view
any other messages or delete messages (even the offending message).

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Have someone send a calendar invitation to your inbox.
2. View the message in KMail.
3. Weep while you are forced to quit KMail and restart the Akonadi server.

Actual Results:
Akonadi goes out to lunch and never comes back.

Expected Results:
Akonadi returns calendar invitation to KMail and continues working properly.

Hallo all
at first thanks for the great improvements in kde 4.7.4.

I use korganizer 4.7.3 in kde 4.7.4. If I create a new event with attendees I
will get the same behaviour as described for kmail2: the recipients addresses
are not accepted by davmail, because of the extra brackets around the mail
addresses:

log from davmail:

Category:davmail
Message:Invalid recipient: RCPT TO:firstname christianname
firstname.christiann...@domainname.de
Location:
davmail.ui.tray.DavGatewayTray.displayMessage(DavGatewayTray.java:113)
Thrown:
davmail.exception.DavMailException: Invalid recipient: RCPT TO:firstname
christiannamefirstname.christiann...@domainname.de
at davmail.smtp.SmtpConnection.run(SmtpConnection.java:141)

It seems to be a bug in a library used by kmail2 and korganizer.

Maybe this helps to locate the bug.

Thank you all for your engaged work. KDE4 starts to become as good as kde
3.5.10 and will be better!

[Bug 288268] imap agents crash when network connection gets closed

2012-01-17 Thread David Faure
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288268

--- Comment #25 from David Faure faure kde org 2012-01-17 22:25:56 ---
Git commit 6d6476e80ccc3d058d0e56bab52ab8430315ba15 by David Faure.
Committed on 17/01/2012 at 23:02.
Pushed by dfaure into branch 'master'.

Rework handling of connection failures, to fix crashes.

Testcase: unplugging my network cable, waiting for timeouts, plugging it
back again later, check mail.

* Port from deprecated connectionLost to stateChanged, which has the major
benefit of not confusing failure to connect with we lost our connection
(due to KIMAP::Session emitting both signals for compat reasons).

* Failure to connect is now handled in the result slot for the LoginJob,
rather than via the connectionFailed signal, since the first one is called
anyway.

* Make sure we emit connectDone on error, even if m_initialConnectDone is true,
so that the resource sets itself to offline (rather than it attempting the
same task over and over again!).

* Don't set the resource status to Broken when it's simply offline
(login failure due to could not connect is handled separately now)

* Make sure not to pop up a password dialog when couldn't connect; this
is different from we could connect but the server refused login.

Requires kdepimlibs commit acdb0f7e50 for ERR_COULD_NOT_CONNECT.

FIXED-IN: 4.8

Set an error code when we lost connection.

Otherwise the imap resource assumes we could log in, and stores the session
that just got deleted, leading to crashes further down the road.

I just updated to fedora kernel 3.1.9-1.fc16.x86_64, rebooted and found
akonadiserver, mysql, akonadi_maildispatcher_agent using all of the cpu.
Even killing them didn't help - they restarted automatically.
I finally did
 mv /usr/bin/akonadiserver /usr/bin/akonadiserverxxx
and then killed it.
Now what?
$ akonadictl --version
Akonadi 1.6.2

Why do I want to run any of this stuff anyway?
How can I permanently disable it (even better uninstall) in fedora 16?

I want to confirm the solution comment #10 is working for kmail2 4.7.3

kmail 4.7.3 from kubuntu oneiric with debian kde 4.7.4 from debian experimental

solution from comment #10 worked by configuring folder
$HOME/.local/share/.local-mail.directory in akonadi control module.

This folder was created by the migration wizzard with correct folder structure
but no mails in it. I had 3 disconnected imap accounts in kmail 4.4.11, the old
cached mails still residing in $HOME/.kde/share/apps/kmail/dimap

Cheers and thanks for the good work
