[kontact] [Bug 235690] kontact hangs when starting in summary view or after switching to summary view
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=235690 --- Comment #13 from Martin Nebe martin.n...@gmail.com --- After another day of intense testing I have some more information about this bug: - Events that do not have a DTSTART entry, i.e. no starttime, will always cause Kontact to hang if the Plugin Name 'Calendar' has it's check box marked in the Summary Selection pane, no matter what choices one makes in the Upcoming Events Summary Setup pane. (I don't know how, but my friends Google calendar had three such entries, even though they did show start times in the Google web GUI. All of them were recurrent tasks.) - The Upcoming Special Dates will cause Kontact to hang for the same reason, but only if both 'Show birthdays' check boxes are marked in the Upcoming Special Dates Summary Setup pane. (There is one such check box under 'Show these Special Dates From Your Calendar', and another one under 'Show these Special Dates From Your Contact List'.) - My theory in Comment 10 was to simple, and therefore I have to rephrase it substantially to something like the following: Plugin summaries that query corrupted calenders can cause Kontact to hang when they e.g. encounter an event that do not have a start time or whose Remote Id is not unique in Akonadi. - The processor load gets close to 100% when this occurs so I guess the query gets stuck in a rather tight loop, sometimes causing my whole system to freeze! - So the most straight forward approach to palliate this problem is perhaps to add some code that replaces the hanging with an error message showing the 'Raw Payload' of the corrupted event in addition to the associated Id, Remote Id and the calendar name. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[kmail2] [Bug 321054] New: kmail2 doesn't send emails after long uptime ...
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=321054 Bug ID: 321054 Summary: kmail2 doesn't send emails after long uptime ... Classification: Unclassified Product: kmail2 Version: 4.10.4 Platform: Archlinux Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: piedro.kul...@googlemail.com When running KDE for a long time 48+ hours the mail dispatcher agent and the mail filter agent stop working ... they can be restarted via akonadi console and they work again but this is very inconvenient and produces some undesired results ... (for example filters acting on incoming mail have not been applied and have to be reapplied manually - but this is no solution cause I don't know on which folders where to apply the filters manually - cause filtering obviously partially worked!) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. let kmail2 run for 48 hours 2. try sending a new mail 3. try to apply a filter that moves mail to a local folder e.g. spam Actual Results: - the mail is stuck in the outbox - the filter doesn't move the mail in question even on individual apply filter to a single mail Expected Results: - mail should be sent - filter should move mail as it has done after a shorter period of uptime this is really annoying as it renders kmail as productive PIM on a work machine useless - it's just still not reliable. If I can't trust filters and basic functions likesend immediately and have to double check everytime to make sure - it's a waste of time ... -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[kmail2] [Bug 279115] Standard Mailing list doesn't thread properly
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=279115 --- Comment #6 from Jonathan Marten j...@keelhaul.me.uk --- Created attachment 80486 -- https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=80486action=edit Zip archive of test messages Test case attached, public messages with no personal information included. These Bugzilla mails are unchanged apart from deleting irrelevant Received headers and removing the New: prefix from the thread starters so that the subjects are identical. To reproduce: Create a new empty folder in KMail. From within the zip archive, click on each of the files in turn to open them with KMail View. Do not do this with the 'thread2-1' message for the moment. Context menu - Copy Item To - the new folder The folder should now have five emails in it. With the aggregation options set to Standard Mailing List, observe that the 3 messages referring to bug#314981 are threaded but the 2 messages referring to bug#279188 are not. Even though the thread starter is not present, they should be grouped by subject. Then copy in the 'thread2-1' message. Observe that the second set of messages become threaded. To confirm, delete one of the thread starter messages and observe that the remaining ones become unthreaded again. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
