[kmail2] [Bug 345327] New: GUI freezes when selecting an email for display
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345327 Bug ID: 345327 Summary: GUI freezes when selecting an email for display Product: kmail2 Version: 4.14.2 Platform: Debian unstable OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: message list Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: marcus.ha...@iwr.fzk.de I've chosen the layout to display an email once I click on it in the message list. Sometimes the whole GUI freezes for about 10 seconds before the email is diplayed. This includes open composer windows. The akonadi new-mail notification windows does not freeze. [Akonadi] [Bug 345337] New: akonadi chokes on empty mails
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345337 Bug ID: 345337 Summary: akonadi chokes on empty mails Product: Akonadi Version: 1.13.0 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Maildir Resource Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: m...@reaktanz.de i'm currently in recovery from akonadi all of a sudden forgetting about all my local mails (see bug #345211 ). as i was trying to import those mails from backups and then moving the imported folder, some folders couldn't be moved, the error message read unable to retrieve item from resource: invalid entry. i investigated the problem and found that the error was triggered by certain mails in the respective folder which did not have a mail body any more, only the header was still there. in one folder this was the case for about 40 normal mails, while in all other folders this has exclusievly happened to unsubscribe confirmation mails from various mailing list servers. the mails were identifiable because kmail shows an error message in its status bar when selecting one of them. i was able to move all intact mails and then removing the folder containing only invalid mails. the main question is where those empty mails came from. this was an archive with mails from the part 15 years, but the most disturbing finding (normal mails without body) were from around 2012-2014. it was all mails that were transfered by kmail from IMAP to a local maildir resource. the data loss most likely happened then. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: well, this is hard to reproduce. but you might be lucky if you manually remove mail bodies from a maildir archive, import the archive with kmail and then try to move the imported folder. Actual Results: folder cannot be moved, a rather cryptic error message is shown. if broken mails are identified, they cannot be deleted -- you have to move all other mails to another folder and then delete the folder containing the invalid mails. Expected Results: at the very least, the error message should explain *why* you cannot move the folder. in addition, it shouldn't be such a painful excercise to identify the broken mails; kmail/akonadi should list the items in question. and once they're found, it should be possible to delete them. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Akonadi] [Bug 333514] Maildir items are never expired from Akonadi cache because of Baloo
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=333514 Knut Hildebrandt knut.hildebra...@gmx.de changed: What|Removed |Added CC||knut.hildebra...@gmx.de --- Comment #12 from Knut Hildebrandt knut.hildebra...@gmx.de --- Even though this bug is marked fixed I want to come back to it, since my file_db_data still keeps growing fast. And it is not only mail that is stored there and never gets erased, it's a whole bunch of different files. There are two VCARD's which are held in three different versions for weeks (in total six files). If I delete them manually the respective contacts disappear from KAddressbook and are not fetched again from my ownCloud account. BTW, both contacts hold a profile picture and are the only ones I added a picture to. There is one note from KNotes (a HTML document) already sitting in file_db_data for several days. Of this file also exist three different versions. There are six contactGroup files (XML files) sitting in the directory for about two weeks. When I delete them the respective groups disappear from KAddressbook as the afore mentioned contacts. All of the above mentioned items were not changes by me for a long time. There are dozens of strange looking plain text documents referring to old mail stuff in my mail archive hold in Local Folders. These date back to the day when I re-imported the whole archive after finding a workaround for this bug: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=344242 And there are still hundreds of mail files in the directory, some dating back to the day I had completely emptied it - see above mentioned bug report for a detailed account of the whole procedure. Many, if not all, of the mails still residing in the directory have been deleted from the IMAP server yet or were moved to the local archive. I got the impression that Akonadi has a problem with were to store data and how to cache it. And this does not only hold true for mails but all data managed by Akonadi. And as one can see from the above mentioned contact files and contactGroup files and Bug 344242 this can cause the loss of data. Thus it would be great if the root of these problems could be found and eliminated. Right now I'm running KDE and Kontact 4.14.5-1 as well as Akonadi 1.13.0-3 under Chakra Linux. My system is always kept up-to-date. The last update of KDE-Pim and Akonadii was on March 4th 2015, a day before I deleted ~/.local/share/akonadi/file_db_data. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
