[Akonadi] [Bug 353414] New: crash of imap component

2015-10-01 Thread Hannes H
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=353414

Bug ID: 353414
   Summary: crash of imap component
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: FreeBSD Ports
OS: FreeBSD
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
  Assignee: chrig...@fastmail.fm
  Reporter: bugzi...@soulrebel.in-berlin.de
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org, vkra...@kde.org

Application: akonadi_imap_resource (4.14)
KDE Platform Version: 4.14.3
Qt Version: 4.8.7
Operating System: FreeBSD 10.2-RELEASE amd64
Distribution (Platform): FreeBSD Ports

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

Nothing special. The imap component just crashes in the background roughly
every 5min. If I restart it from the crash-manager, I can continue to use
Kontact, but it is quite annoying, as you can imaging. This has been the case
since upgrading about a month ago, I am noot sure which version change that
was, unfortunately...

- Custom settings of the application:

the server used is exchange, but it official server-side imap, not some kind of
client-side wrapper. There are more imap accounts set up, but only one of them
seems to crash (there is no incoming mail on the other ones though).

[akregator] [Bug 353412] Akregator crashed on feed item previ

2015-10-01 Thread Arruor
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=353412

--- Comment #8 from Dimiter "Arruor" Nikov ---
Steps to reproduce (in my case):
1. Start Kontact and navigate to Feeds.
2. Open item named 'Placifity 3a (Plasma Theme)' (from KDE Look feed) in new
tab.
3. In new tab click on screenshots included in article.
4. Try to navigate through available images (next or previous, with controls
from kde-look.org).

When I try to start akregator separately (ie. from Konsole) - application
crashes.
Trace and messages from command line invocation are included in attached files.
Please let me know if I could help you with something else.
Thank you in advance.

Ah that makes more sense.

The first one was for Plasma midway through configuring an IM account.

Pim devs look at the trace in comment #3

One report per bug.
The bt in comment#3 lacks debug symbols anyway (and would likely indicate
something crashed in khtml).
The one attached in comment#4 is unrelated and already reported (bug 352512)

Kmail2 can still be pretty slow at showing emails, especially ones just
downloaded, at least if "Download all messages for offline use" is UNchecked.
This is version 4.81 beta 1.

It would be nice if the recipient picker would support google groups. That way
I could select all members of a subgroup as recipients.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 353393] New: Regression kAddressbook 5: Importing vCards from kMail does not work any more

2015-10-01 Thread Gunter Ohrner
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=353393

Bug ID: 353393
Summary: Regression kAddressbook 5: Importing vCards from kMail
does not work any more
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR

  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: kdeb...@customcdrom.de
CC: to...@kde.org

I'm currently using kMail 5.0.1 and kAddressbook 5.0.1 from stable branch
(Kubuntu KDE CI Stable PPA).

Importing a vCard received as an eMail attachment does not appear to be
possible, it can be displayed in kMail, but no import button is provided (I'm
not sure if there was one in older kMail versions) and attempting to open the
vCard with kAddressbook does not seem to do anything except starting
kAddressbook...

In kMail 4.x / kAddressbook 4.x, importing of vCards definitely worked, I used
it regularly.

Reproducible: Always

*This* bug specfically concerns slowdows caused by remembered searches and can
be worked around as described above if it happens.

kMail / Akonadi currently does have other severe performance issues, though,
which can cause delays up to several minutes simply after switching folders
until kMail is fully usable again. See the following bugs for example, maybe
the behaviour you're experiencing is somehow related to one of those:

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338571
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=352604

Cionsidering the age of bug 338571 my hope's not too high that it might be
fixed anytime soon, though...
