[korganizer] [Bug 428665] New: subscribing and syncing to remote dynamic ics web calendar not possible

2020-11-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428665

Bug ID: 428665
Summary: subscribing and syncing to remote dynamic ics web
calendar not possible
   Product: korganizer
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: je-vv@e.email
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

On Arch, I've tried subscribing remote dynamic ics web calendars, with the
purpose of automatically and periodically sync them. It ends up that's not
possible.

1st, in order to add such remote calendar, it has to be added as a file, and
then the worst part is that one gets the note:

> Select the file whose contents should be represented by this resource. If
> the file does not exist, it will be created. A URL of a remote file can also
> be specified, but note that monitoring for file changes will not work in this
> case.

That means the remote calendar is never going to be synced. As it's not synced
periodically, of course there's no configuration offer to specify how often to
sync the calendar. I need to sync some every day, and others every 15 mins,
like the RO office365 one from where I work. Those calendars need to be synced
because they are dynamic, meaning they change over time. And korganizer seems
to only add ics web static calendars. All such calendars are dynamic, but are
as well RO. So I have no issue with them being set as RO, but I need them to
sync, and I need to be able to specify how often to sync, which on the warning
message lingo, it means I need them to be monitored...

I'm not using KDE/Plasma as DE, but instead LXQt, but I've installed and used
Kontact to test what I'm mentioning.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Kontact version: 20.08.2
plasma-framework version: 5.75.0
plasma-desktop version: 5.75.0

[Akonadi] [Bug 338960] IMAP resource stop working after Internet connection on router was lost and then restored

2020-11-03 Thread Roman Odaisky
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=338960

I’ve just had this happen to me with packages from latest Ubuntu (version
5.15.1 or 20.08.1). Last night as I was going to sleep some problems started
occurring with my Internet connection. Today it was fine again, but new emails
stopped coming into one account. If I tried to synchronize it in KMail, nothing
would happen at all, the status bar would not display any activity. If I tried
to synchronize all accounts, only the other one would work, completely ignoring
the first one. In akonadiconsole, the account was shown as Ready, but
synchronizing it there likewise did nothing.

I’m sorry to say this, but Akonadi has been with us for more than ten years,
and all this time it Just Does Not Work in the most inappropriate way, by
silently stopping to receive messages at most inopportune moments. Could you
please either fix the underlying issue once and for all, or at the very least
make it display a very prominent message should it lose the connection?

[kmail2] [Bug 428641] New: Emoticons no longer converted into emojis in Kmail 5.15.2

2020-11-03 Thread B. Scheichl
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428641

Bug ID: 428641
Summary: Emoticons no longer converted into emojis in Kmail
5.15.2
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 5.15.2
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: composer
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: bernhard.schei...@tuwien.ac.at
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a new message (Rich/HTML format).
2. Type ";-)" or ":-)" or ... in text, then send.
3. Reciepient gets this as smiley/plain text -- not automatically converted!

OBSERVED RESULT

Recipient sees simple smiley as typed!

EXPECTED RESULT

Recipient expects smiley replaced by colored emoji!

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: opensUSE Tumbleweed, all latest versions
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20
KDE Frameworks Version:
Qt Version:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This worked perfectly in earlier versions, with the colored emojis in Breeze
style!
Only workaround: add an emoji from "Add Smiley" in the toolbar once emojis are
installed. By default, these are only black/white, one has to add manually
colored emojics (another nuisance). All that was never necessary in earlier
versions of KDE/Kmail (and is not the expected state-of-the art behaviour).

This is still happening to me. I am trying to integrate KDE's Phab calendar
into Korganizer, and I have the following export file:

https://phabricator.kde.org/calendar/export/ics/vz6554ndpdhjeqpea3oy/kde_public_tasks.ics

Which I can download and browse and it contains the calendar data. It also
works when integrated into a Nextclous calendar, but it does not show events on
