 Hi,
it's right I saw this bug sometime ago.
 Will investigate.
But composer is not a real html editor so it can't be 100% but it's right we
 must load external image.
I worked on a real html editor but didn't have time to finish it.
 Regards

Laurent,

Thanks for the reply!

What is puzzling to me is that I could swear that composer was working
properly (with regard to this loading HTML external references issue), before
the last set of updates was released.

Having composer become a real, HTML editor would be a big plus for KDE Mail.

George

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=327926

Bug ID: 327926
Summary: Kmail 4.11.3 suddenly no longer including external
references in forwarded HTML messages
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.11.3
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: gcz...@ec.rr.com

Incoming HTML e-mail is rendered perfectly, however any attempt to forward the
e-mail inline results in an e-mail that loses all external references (e.g.
pictures, frames, etc.).

See attached images below:

#1 - perfectly rendered incoming HTML e-mail
file:///home/george/incomingmail.jpeg

#2 - improperly rendered HTML e-mail in composer window when forwarded inline
file:///home/george/forwardedmail.jpeg

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select e-mail to be forwarded
2. Select forward inline
3. View messed up message in composer window
Actual Results:
1. Select e-mail to be forwarded
2. Select forward inline
3. View messed up message in composer window

Expected Results:
Perfectly reproduced and formatted HTML e-mail in composer window

I would be happy to do that, however there have been no updated debug packages
posted for KDE 4.1.3 that I can find. The debug-updates directories are
totally empty. If installing the 4.1.2 debug packages would work, please let
me know.

OK Andres, I located updated 4.1.3 debug packages in a debug-main/testing

kdepimlibs4-debug packages?

--- Comment #8 from George Czerw gczerw comcast net 2009-01-07 22:46:08 ---

This crash will occur whenever you delete the only email address listed for
the contact. For example, if the contact has 1 email address listed, the
application will SIGSEV after you delete that address and apply the change. If
the contact has 2 email addresses listed, deleting 1 of the 2 and then saving
the contact, will result in a perfectly saved contact listing 1 email address.
If, however, you re-open that contact and delete the remaining email address,
the application will SIGSEV after you apply the change to the contact.

Here is the complete backtrace:
