-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
application works without problem but crashes when I try to close it. The
problem is persistent. The user account data has been transferred from a
different system and the file system with config and caches went full a couple
of times while application was running. I was trying to clean up caches. This
seemed to help for a short period of times but after a while the crashes came
back and stayed until now. No full filesystem and migration since cache
cleanup.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

2014-03-31 Thread Manfred
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=283682

--- Comment #76 from Manfred manfred.1...@freenet.de ---
I first deleted all filters, only left Spam and virus filters. Before I had a
filter sorting some emails by sender into a subfolder of the SENT folder. Lets
call the subfolder 123.

After manually moving emails from the SENT folder to the subfolder 123 they
reappear soon in the original SENT folder, now doubled, one in the subfolder
123, one in the SENT folder. The subfolder 123 was created a longer time ago.

Thank you for your answer. I revoked the access for akonadi, but didn't change

I am not aware of any privacy configurations which should generally prevent

2013-12-19 Thread Manfred
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=329007

Bug ID: 329007
Summary: Cant add google account - window shows grayed out
apply button
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Google Resource
  Assignee: dvra...@redhat.com
  Reporter: manfred.1...@freenet.de
CC: kdepim-bugs@kde.org

I want to add a goole resource to kaddressbook. I should be able to add one
throught kaddressbook add addressbook or via system settings add google
resource. If I choose add resource it opens a menu where I can choose add
account. Afterwards it shows a window, displaying a google window, where I can
login and see the right I will give to the resource. But now the button apply
is greyed out (actually its light blue instead of blue), so I cant click on it
to add the akonadi resource to my google account. I shows loading the web
access 100%, but even waiting a very long time it seem not to bee loaded fully
or there is something else wrong.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start adding a google addressbook resource
2. choosing add new resource
3.
Actual Results:
it shows the google page but I cant apply

Expected Results:
the apply button usable, clicking on it adding the resource to google

I am using KDE 4.12

I just realized I have another problem, not related to akonadi but to iBus. I
use an input method called fcitx for chinese input. After I installed Kubuntu
13.10 it has just the same problem like akonadi-server. It needs to get killed
and started again, afterwards just running fine.

Which means, this bug might be wrong here.

I have the same problem since updating to Kubuntu 13.10. Since I found the
pkill sequence mentioned I use it and it works. But its about 1 of 4 times I
start my computer, that akonadi doesn't work. If there is anything I could
test, please ask.

I dont know if this is related to the problem: Starting Kontact I often get a
message, that kmail incoming email filters missing an mail account to use. It
shows a window asking to choose the account, but all my accounts are not
shown. Either I click ok or esc afterwards the filter is deleted in kmail. I
was wondering if that is connected to the problem, that akonadi recources
doesn't sucessfully announce its service at the dbus.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 307645] automatically determine the coordinates of an address

2013-09-29 Thread Manfred
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307645

--- Comment #2 from Manfred manfred.1...@freenet.de ---
The former ideas needed online recources are available. KDE-SC Digikam makes
use of the technology for it's geolocalization function. I would prefer to have
an Interface, displaying a map to choose the geodata for a contact. Actually it
makes use of the googlemaps api and one can choose map or satellite view.

The second wish is available in Digikam, too. You have an Interface where you
can mark a square on a map and digikam is showing all photografies with
geolocation data of this area. Same thing in kaddressbook could filter the
contact list displaying all contacts in the choosen area.

Well, this is a wishlist. :-)

Chinese Names are written as NamePrename. There is a pattern for this order
in kaddressbook, but its adding a Space inbetween Name und Prename. As most
of my contacts have chinese names, I have to manually enter a user defined
display order for every contact.

Second I would love to get displayed a field Phonetic Name which is of use
for all non alphabet writing systems. Google has this field, but it's not in
the specified vcard fields:
X-PHONETIC-FIRST-NAME:Ru2
X-PHONETIC-MIDDLE-NAME:Bi4
X-PHONETIC-LAST-NAME:Wang1

[kmail2] [Bug 322002] New: Adding a jpeg picture into html mail results in an png attachment

2013-07-05 Thread Manfred
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322002

Bug ID: 322002
Summary: Adding a jpeg picture into html mail results in an png
attachment
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.5
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: manfred.1...@freenet.de

I added a jpg picture via the add picture button into a html mail. After
closing the picture size dialogue without changing the size the picture is
successfully added into the mails text, but the picture is changed into a png.
I checked the preferences editor automatically change pictures size change
into format jpg/png. Either I choose there change into png or jpg, it's both
adding a png-file. (My system is German, here it's called E-Mail-Editor
Bildgröße automatisch ändern Umwandeln in Format jpg/png)
I just recently installed the complete 4.10.5 update. I regulary used that
function before and had no problem with earlier versions.
Kind regards,
Marcus

Adding geodata (longitude, latitude) to a vcard now needs you to know the data.
It would be much more comfortable to have an interface. KDE software digikam
has this for its geolocation feature, you can choose from a map and add it to
exif or xml.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
open a vcard
Actual Results:
needs to add geodata longitude and latitude as numbers

Expected Results:
adding geadata using a map

If I start kmail2 or kontacts kmail2 component it starts with a window width of
more than 3000 px. My screen has 1920 px. But the width of the window cannot be
changed.
As well the folder subwindow: I can not change its width and its so small, that
I can not read the folders names. I can close the navigation bar in kontact, to
see a little more, but not the right border of the subwindow.
In kmail2rc the SearchAndHeaderWidth=3010. If I change it manually and start
kmail, rc-file is overridden and kmail opens again in a to big window.

It was a long Nepomuk tag. I deleted it and the problem is gone. But the UI
should be changed, as Nepomuk Tags should be free in lengh. I dont know, if
that is nepomuk or kmail2 related.

--- Comment #4 from Manfred Frommel manfred frommel frommel-edv de
2012-02-12 07:17:08 ---
As advised by Christophe please test again with 4.8.

Now I have updated my openSUSE 11.4 x86_64 testmachine to kde 4.8.0
from the openSUSE repositories.

This bug seems to be fixed, but now kmail crashes within a few seconds :-(
I will try to file a new bugreport when I have more specific info.

Greetings
Manfred

--- Comment #1 from Manfred Frommel manfred frommel frommel-edv de
2012-02-06 13:54:01 ---
(In reply to comment #0)
 Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.3)
 OS:Linux

Please notice that this issue is, for me, reproducible only with IMAP server
 we
have at work but not with Gmail or other IMAP server I use. But, now it is a
real stopper for me because all the sent emails are kept only locally and are
not uploaded to the server even if I move them manually to some other folder -
in fact it means it is a data loss.

It is reliably reproducible on my 2 laptops - at work and at home and
 different
 SMTP server makes no difference.

It might be related - all the incoming emails in Incoming folder (nowhere
 else)
are doubled (I have them twice); again, this happens only with the IMAP server
we have at work, nowhere else.

 Reproducible: Always

 Steps to Reproduce:
 1. have an IMAP server
 2. send an email

 or

 1. copy/move sent email to some other folder

 Actual Results:
Email is sent and moved to the Sent folder but only locally, it is not
propagated to the server. The error is:
Append failed, server replied: A000728 BAD Invalid flag specified

If I manually move/copy a sent email to another folder, the error is:
Append failed, server replied: A000731 BAD Invalid flag specified

 Expected Results:
Sent emails should be uploaded to the IMAP server.

Please, ask me for whatever information, I'm willing to help since currently I
cannot use Kmail2 because of this issue.

One more note - everything works as expected in Thunderbird.

 Thanks.

Similar here,

Version: 4.6 (kde 4.6.5)
OS: OpenSuse 11.4 x86_64

sent-Mail configured to be located on the IMAP-Server.

KMail 2.1.1 shows the Mail in the Sent-Mail-Folder, with no hint of any
error.
But the Mail is never uploaded to the IMAP-Server.

Same, if you move the Mail to some other folder
The move happens only on the cache but not on the IMAP-Server.

I would classify this Bug as critical, as I actually lost data, relying on the
(sent)mail being on the IMAP-Server, which wasn't true.

Thanks
Manfred

[Bug 284335] New: mail: Unable to append item flags unable to add former maildir to kmail - akonadi resource

2011-10-18 Thread Manfred
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=284335

Summary: mail: Unable to append item flags unable to add
former maildir to kmail - akonadi resource
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.7
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: manfred.1...@freenet.de

Version: 4.7 (using KDE 4.7.2)
OS:Linux

Problem: After upgrading to kubuntu 11.10 I can neither add a working Akonadi
ressource nor import old messages via KmailCVT.
If I add a akonadi local resource (using the former ~/.kde/share/app/kmail/mail
folder) the resource itself seems to be fine, but starting kmail I get

mail: Unknown error. (Unable to append item flags.)
Same if I try to import via KmailCVT. KmailCVT stops then and hangs, I have to
kill it and nothing was importet.

Before upgrading I had Version 4.7.1 installed (already successful using
Akonadi) After upgrading there have been no more emails in the upgraded
installation. An automatic migration didn't run during installation, as the
migration was done with 11.04 already.

Any help available? At least how to import?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
Delete Akonadi resource and make a new one - still the same
Restart Akonadi
Start import again

Actual Results:
cant use mails from version 4.7.1

Expected Results:
shouldn't make any problem

--- Comment #1 from Manfred manfred 1980 freenet de 2011-10-18 10:57:53 ---
seems's like the mailfolders have changed. I closed all akonadi needing
programs and stopped the akonadi server. Than copied all my mail folders from
~/.kde/share/app/kmail/mail/ to ~/.local/share/local-mail/. Afterwards renamed
all the Akonadi databases in ~/.local/share/akonadi adding a .bak. Than
started Akonadi server again. After starting Kmail I refreshed all the folders
in Kmail. It takes a long long time! Folder by folder it shows the imported
emails again.

Why kmail and kmailcvt were complaining about the item flags - and impossible
to regulary import or add the database - I am not shure with, but I think, the
most important was unabling the old databases and let them rebuild. So be
careful, this is just a users experience, maybe not a safe way. (actualy I had
all files backuped before)

Want to confirm:
Same here after updating to 4.7 on Kubuntu 11.4 yesterday.
Akonadi_mixedmaildir needs almost 450MB RAM.
Process is keeping running until restart the machine. opening any mail folders
in kmail and the service does start again and takes too much memory.

Akonadi_nepomuk_email_feeder takes another 720MB...
Out of 2GB on my Laptop.

I still experience that problem in trunk r865263

I attach the output from konsole to that event on my machine.

I ran that in Xephyr as kde-devel.

[Bug 163911] New: KMail filters are not working

2008-06-12 Thread Manfred Mertens
--- You are receiving this mail because: ---

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=163911
Summary: KMail filters are not working
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.9.9
  Platform: unspecified
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: mmertens global-webservice net

Version: 1.9.9 (using 3.5.9, Kubuntu (hardy) 4:3.5.9-0ubuntu7.1)
Compiler: Target: i486-linux-gnu
OS:Linux (i686) release 2.6.24-18-generic

My filters are very simple and most with the whole email address or the content
of part of these (i.e. global-webservice net) I have the filters in their own
directories that redirect the mails to directories in the main windwow in
KMail. First, all mail that was not re-directed by the filter went no more to
the Inbox, instead to a created box Listas and all worked wrong. The
filters worked fine with Kubuntu 7.10 and the failure appeared suddenly (I
perform all automated actualizations of the system). With my actual Kubuntu
8.04 the failure remains.

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=160831
Summary: filters are not working properly
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.9.6
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs kde org
ReportedBy: mmertens global-webservice net

Version: 1.9.6 (using KDE 3.5.8)
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages
OS:Linux

One month before the filters worked properly: All incoming messages were placed
in the corresponding folders indicated in the filter. Then they suddenly
finished to work well. For instance, no messages got to the Inbox, most of it
land into a box that I created for lists (Listas). A few work, but the most not.
I have activated all actualizations from Ubuntu 7.10 (I use Kuntuntu).
