[kontact] [Bug 479395] New: Crash on trying to re-open draft from local folder

2024-01-04 Thread Martin Riethmayer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=479395

Bug ID: 479395
Summary: Crash on trying to re-open draft from local folder
Classification: Applications
   Product: kontact
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: rip...@freakmail.de
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kontact (5.24.3 (23.08.3))

Qt Version: 5.15.11
Frameworks Version: 5.112.0
Operating System: Linux 6.6.2-1-default x86_64
Windowing System: Wayland
Distribution: "openSUSE Tumbleweed"
DrKonqi: 5.27.9 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
When trying to re-open a draft from a local folder after sending failed, KMail
/ Kontact crashed. The draft was still available and would open at the next
start, so no data was lost.

This happened multiple times until I finally managed to have the correct SMTP
configured (which is really, really, really not intuitive if you have multiple
accounts configured...).

I could not reproduce this by simply making a draft and re-opening it.

The crash can be reproduced every time.

Sorry, I had this not happen on Neon, but updating Leap 15.1 to the current KDE

[Akonadi] [Bug 345558] INBOX is empty, all other subfolders of same account have all mails present

--- Comment #8 from Martin Riethmayer <rip...@freakmail.de> ---
Both local and server side subscriptions are turned on for all folders /
subfolders but still my INBOX doesn't show any mails.

The INBOX should have a couple of unread mails, btw, but not even the number of
unread mails is shown. In subfolders, both the correct number of unread mails
and the mails themselves are shown.

While my INBOX of the non-working folder is also translated (to german), the
same is true for the two working Inboxes. So I don't think it's an issue of the
translation itself. I'm still suspecting the server imap software (mainly
because of the comment of einar in the above linked forums thread)

[kmail2] [Bug 345558] New: INBOX is empty, all other subfolders of same account have all mails present

2015-03-26 Thread Martin Riethmayer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=345558

Bug ID: 345558
Summary: INBOX is empty, all other subfolders of same account
have all mails present
   Product: kmail2
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: rip...@freakmail.de

I have set up three e-mail accounts with Kontact / KMail on openSUSE 13.2, KDE
4.14.6

On two accounts (all IMAP, one is freenet.de, one is a self-hosted Kolab
server, one is my works E-Mail) everything is working as expected. On the
work-account however, I'm not seeing any mails in the inbox. I'm getting all
sub-folders and e-mails in those subfolders (including archives with more than
5K mails in each).

Thunderbird is displaying all mails in all accounts. I just found out that the
context menu on the working two INBOX-es seem to be very much like a sub-folder
(e.g. have an entry for folder properties) while the non-working-INBOX does
not. Does this mean the IMAP server config must be changed?

The server is courier imapd 4.3.0

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select the INBOX folder of the imap-Server in question, look for new mails

Actual Results:
No messages are displayed

Expected Results:
The messages in the INBOX should be displayed

See also https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=215t=125228

The xsession-errors file is always empty.
