   Version: 4.10.1
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general

KDE Platform Version: 4.10.1
Qt Version: 4.8.3
Operating System: Linux 3.5.0-25-generic x86_64
Distribution: Ubuntu 12.10

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
I generally leave Kontact running all the time, and just close it to the system
tray. Most of the time, when I try to open it when it's already running, via
any method other than clicking its tray icon, it crashes.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

Still happening (although *maybe* slightly less consistently) on KDE SC 4.6.5
with KDE-PIM/KMail 4.6.0.

I just wanted to chime in and say I've been experiencing this same problem for
quite some time on Kubuntu, in both the 4.3 and new 4.4 branch. From what I can
tell, it occurs even when there are no lost connections to my IMAP accounts
(assuming there would be some error message informing me of such). It'd be
great to see this fixed soon; Kontact is one of my favorite applications to
show off to new users, but a bug like this presents quite a hurdle for most of
them. :-\

[Bug 212482] New: Make system tray icon ignore messages in spam folders

2009-10-31 Thread Mike Vaughn
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=212482

Summary: Make system tray icon ignore messages in spam folders
   Product: kmail
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: unspecified
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: contras...@gmail.com

Version:(using KDE 4.3.2)
Installed from:Ubuntu Packages

It would make the system tray icon a lot more useful if it could be configured
to only show a message count for folders in a user-selected set of folders. For
example, I have three GMail accounts set up on KMail, two of which get a new
spam message on almost every check. I'd like to be able to tell KMail to only
show the message count for my actual inbox folders on the system tray icon,
while disregarding the messages in the spam and trash folders. This would
probably best be implemented via a checkbox-based listview under Settings -
Configure KMail - Appearance - System Tray, where the user could select which
folders' messages should be counted in the system tray icon.

Works perfect, thanks for the quick reply. Sorry for not poking around a bit
more before filing a report.

When using the icon view, the images are so small that they're virtually
useless.
