Mails are visible during one sessin after downloading them from server, but after kmailwas restarted they disappear from list, folder become empty. Looking at ~/.kde/.../mail/My folder/new dir, they are exist on the hard drive, I could read them in any editor. There are some other folders in my tree, working fine. Reproduced: everytime. Btw. Same happens if the user does have access to the local network but needs to establish a VPN connection to get internet access. After the internet connection was established akonadi still fails to get the email, maybe because it is stuck and still waiting or because the DNS it uses for the mailbox is not valid because it was the redirected one. Clicking on check mail in kmail does not help, restarting kmail does not help either and waiting and acceptable amount of time fails as well. If one restarts akonadi it works. Since mobile people tend to not restart their notebook or KDE but suspend and resume they would have to restart akonadi each time they get a redirect on the first network access. I'm not sure how to get around this issue, but restarting akonadi does not seem to be the best solution. [Bug 208581] New: introduce unsure folder for spam filtering
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=208581 Summary: introduce unsure folder for spam filtering Product: kmail Version: unspecified Platform: SuSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: sven.burmeis...@gmx.net Version:(using KDE 4.3.1) OS:Linux Installed from:SuSE RPMs An explanation can be read in the kdepim archives: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-pimm=124195221523397w=2 Basically this is about kmail doing the wrong thing when the spam filter tool is not sure whether a message is spam or ham. There are two things that mus tnot happen: 1. If unsure, do not mark a message as spam or ham. 2. If unsure do not do nothing. 2. is very important to get spam tools going, i.e. to train them, especially the light-weight ones that do not slow down kmail. If kmail does not do anything but keep them in the inbox, the user won't act on ham, because there is no need to mark anything as ham that is already in the correct folder, i.e. the inbox. Since the user does not mark any emails as ham, the spam filtering tool cannot learn what is regarded as ham and thus not decide what should be marked as spam. If kmail would stick to the spam filtering tool's definition, i.e. move emails that it is not sure about to an unsure folder, the user would act upn those emails and mark them as either spam or ham thus training the spam filtering tool. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183402 Summary: kontact does not start with the module set to always start with, if restored as part of the KDE session Product: kontact Version: unspecified Platform: SuSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: sven.burmeis...@gmx.net Version:(using KDE 4.2.0) OS:Linux Installed from:SuSE RPMs By default kontact restores the module that was shown last, no matter whether you quit kontact and restart or whether it is quit because kde is shutting down and hence restored when the user logs back in. So if a user sets the always start with module x in kontact this should be valid for both, restart after quit and restart as part of a kde session, yet the latter does not work. At least that is what always mediates. Other use on start features such as kmail's check for new messages are applied on both start types as well, although they lack the always. So if the restart as part of a session is seen as something not included in always, then kmail should not check in that case either, which IMHO does not make sense. Expected behaviour: If start always with module x is set, show that module on every start, no matter how kontact was quit. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170904 --- Comment #1 from S. Burmeister sven burmeister gmx net 2009-01-02 12:13:50 --- There is an even easier way to reproduce with current trunk! If kontact starts, it asks for access to kwallet (allow once, always etc.), don't grant it, just leave it like that and log out. Kontact/kmail will shortly display a window that it does not have access to kwallet, which is kind of right. Although I think this dialogue is only meant if there is really no kwallet and not if it is shutting down. Anyway, the dialogue is only shown for a second anyway, after that KDE shuts down. After logging out, log back in and kmail will ask you for username and password of one of your incomming accounts, yet fail, because there is no server set. [Bug 178949] New: kontact crash on logout
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178949 Summary: kontact crash on logout Product: kontact Version: unspecified Platform: Compiled Sources OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: crash Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: sven.burmeis...@gmx.net Version:(using Devel) OS:Linux Installed from:Compiled sources If I quit my kde session kontact crashes 80% of the time. It might actually be kmail, since after the crash the pop3 account's server/username/password are gone. Since I am not sure how to reproduce I can just state what I do. [Bug 170904] New: receive accounts are deleted if kontact/kmail is killed
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=170904 Summary: receive accounts are deleted if kontact/kmail is killed Product: kmail Version: unspecified Platform: SuSE RPMs OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Version:(using KDE 4.1.1) OS:Linux Installed from:SuSE RPMs I have 3 receive accounts. If I open kontact (or it is started when logging in), kmail asks for access to kwallet. If you wait long enough, it will open dialogues asking for username (filled in already) and password. Cancel each of those dialogues. Allow kmail access to kwallet, i.e. click on allow once in the respective dialogue. Go to File Quit Kmail tells you that it does not have access to kwallet and whether it should store the password in a file. this is wrong in to ways. First, since you just allowed access to kwallet, it seems that kmail does not re-check whether it does or does not have access to kwallet. Second, if it could not get the passwords from kwallet, there is nothing to store to the config files. Now press CTRL+ALT+ESC and click on the dialogue described above in order to kill kmail. Re-open kontact and kmail will prompt for your first receive account's username and password, both blank. If you have a look at the account settings, all receive accounts but the first are completely gone. The first one only has its name but no server or any other settings. Expected behaviour: do not remove existing information from kmailrc in case of crash/kill. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugs.kde.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email --- You are receiving this mail because: --- You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
