[Akonadi] [Bug 340048] New: Resource exports group akonadi:?tag=2 to other adressbooks / owncloud

2014-10-17 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340048

Bug ID: 340048
Summary: Resource exports group akonadi:?tag=2 to other
adressbooks / owncloud
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.13
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m.w...@web.de

I am not sure if this is an akonadi-bug or a bug of the dav-ressource. I have
the problems of several akonadi:?tag= with different numbers at the end
appearing in owncloud then on my android mobile.

Reproducible: Always

[Akonadi] [Bug 318966] Not all owncloud contacts are shown in Kaddressbook

2014-09-05 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318966

I need to check. I have stopped using Kaddressbook because of these problems. A
few months ago they still existed. I wont be able to tell instantly, I will
just notice when a contact is missing. I have over 1000 contacts, which makes
it a little difficult to count and compare since neither Kaddressbook nor
Owncloud have a simple counter.

[Akonadi] [Bug 323623] DAV-ressource should detect network status instead of spreading error notifications if there is no network

2013-09-03 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323623

I mainly had this when I am using my 3G connection. But also when the system
starts up and the connection is still build. I also had this problem on
wireless networks which require a login

The main annoying part is the fact that there is not one but several error
messages and also that that it makes a sound. Which of course I could turn of,
but I would consider this a general problem. If there is a problem the error
message should be less intruding, because in most of the cases it wont matter
since the network will be restored.
So my suggestion would be only to notify the user if the problem exists for a
longer time (x min). X may be 10 min. And then only one notification for all
resources. May be after another x min another and so on.

Bug ID: 323623

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.11
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages

Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m.w...@web.de

I am using the DAV-resource with Owncloud. What makes it really annoying to use
is the fact, that is obviously is not able to handle situations when there is
not network. The notifications area is spamed. I think there is no need for me
to be notified. The resource should just detect the network status and act upon
it, meaning just waiting until the network is restored. In most of the cases I
already know that the network is gone, so no notification is needed.

[akregator] [Bug 322545] New: feed password requests appear to halt feed fetching

2013-07-18 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322545

Bug ID: 322545
Summary: feed password requests appear to halt feed fetching
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: akregator
   Version: 4.10.4
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m.w...@web.de

I have some feeds in my feed list which from time to time turn password
protected as such or some single posts are posts are password protected. This
is normally changed back to normal within in 1 or 2 days. But while this exits,
there are two annoying problems:
1. It appears that Akregator halts the feed refreshing until I answer the
authentication.
This is really bad and annoying, because
2. Since I do not know the password (and do not really want to know it), I can
not get rid of the dialogue permanently. Or the only way to do this would be to
remove the feed (which I do not want, since the problem is fixed normally
within in 1-2 days).

So it would be great, if there was a kind of checkbox in those authentication
dialogues [x] ignore authentication request permanently and then that feeds are
still fetched while Akregator is waiting for the users response to the
authentication box.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 320615] New: There is no indication in which addressbook a contact is.

2013-06-02 Thread m.wege

Bug ID: 320615
Summary: There is no indication in which addressbook a contact

Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: 4.10

  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m.w...@web.de

I have more than one adressbook. Sometimes I want to move a contact between
those or want to know in which adressbook a contact is. At the moment the only
way of finding this out is to deselect other addressbook in order to find out
in which addressbook a contact is.
So I want to suggest to have an indicator to which addressbook a contact belong
in different ways:
If there is more than one addressbook
show the icon of the corresponding addressbook before the contact name.
and
also show this icon and the name of the addressbook in the column showing the
contact itself.
Furthermore there should be an indicator to which addressbook a contact belongs
when a contact is edited. It should be possible to change that addressbook
there via a dropdown menu which shows the available (and writable) addressbook.
Furthermore it would make sense having an an indicator which shows if an
addressbook/entry is not editable. At the moment there is none. One just
notices that the addressbook entry can not be changed.

For me many more contacts appeared after a recent update in Kubuntu. But still
not all contacts appear in KDE which appear perfectly in Owncloud and Android.
At the moment I have no indication which is the criteria for a contact not
appearing.
But I noticed also another bug to reappear:
X-SPOUSESNAME and other fields appears as own field.
I would help debugging, if I would be giving more information on how to debug,

I have reopened the bug, but I am not sure if I should reopen a new one

Thanks Mark for your work. Could you explain what you mean by 'large

myself and try to pinpoint it.
Since they are not synced to KDE it is hard to tell, but if you tell me where
KDE stores the elements synced from Owncloud I can tell you the minimum size
that works.

Just discovered that Thunderbird allows to use adblock. I would love to see it
in Kmail too. Blocking adds and tracking stuff while still being able to have a
look at HTML-mails sounds like a good idea. Since adblock is already part of
KDE used in Konqueror and Rekonq, would it be possile just to actived and
configure it in Kmail too? I am not sure if it is already used in Kmail since I
guess Kmail uses either webkit oder KHTML to display HTML-mails. If so, some
configuration in Kmail would make sense which for example would allow to
temporally deactivate it on per site/sender basis.

It would be very useful to have a counter which would indicate how many
contacts are shown with the filter at the moment. If there is no filter the
total number of contacts should be shown in the counter. Why is this useful. At
the moment it would be useful in helping to determining sync problems with
owncloud. I will request the same feature there. But I believe there is a
general usefulness for this since sync problems also with other servers might
appear. Knowing the number of contacts is one indicator for such a problem
especially with large addressbooks.

[Akonadi] [Bug 318966] Not all owncloud contacts are shown in Kaddressbook

2013-04-28 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318966

I just took a closer look at the contacts which are not synced and came closer
to the problem. The problem seems to be related to the size of the contacts
which is the problem. I noticed that only a relative few of the contacts which
are still shown in Kaddressbook have a contact photo. So I took a closer look
and discovered that those have a contact photo in a very small resolution.
I then made a few tests. Created a contact within in Owncloud with just a name.
This is perfectly synced to Kaddressbook. Then I added a large picture as a
contact photo from within KDE and from Owncloud. After syncing the contact is
not shown in Kadressbook anymore, but the contact still is in Owncloud (with
the picture).
After removing the picture from within Owncloud the contacts reappear, but only
after restarting Akonadi. Just resyncing does not help. This procedure also
helps to make existing contacts reappear.
I would like to empathize that I believe it is the size of the contact and not
the fact that there is a contact photo which seems to cause the problem.
Unfortunately I could not find where Akonadi caches the contacts which might
have given some indication of the size problem.

I hope this information helps to find the cause of the bug.

[Akonadi] [Bug 318966] New: Not all owncloud contacts are shown in Kaddressbook

2013-04-27 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318966

Bug ID: 318966
Summary: Not all owncloud contacts are shown in Kaddressbook
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: DAV Resource
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m.w...@web.de

I am using an owncloud-installation at owndrive.com. There I have two
addressbooks which perfectly sync themselves to Android and Thunderbird.
However in Kaddressbook only a fraction of the owncloud contacts is shown.
Unfortunately I can not count the missing ones since neither owncloud nor
Kaddressbook seems to count the addresses it shows with the current filter.

The .xsession-errors shows many of the following errors
akonadi_davgroupware_resource_18(6104)/akonadiserializer (addressee)
Akonadi::SerializerPluginAddressee::deserialize: Empty addressee object!

and

akonadi_nepomuk_feeder(6120) ItemQueue::processBatch: failed to fetch item or
item without payload: 414930

At the moment I can not determine a rule which could help to find the bug(s). I
guess it would be helpful to have more debug output. If there is a way to
compile it with more debug info I am willing to test this. I could also ask
owndrive people if they are able to give access to their debug, if this could
be helpful.
I put this as major, because in current condition the owncloud-syncing-feature
is useless.

Reproducible: Always

So, i somehow tested this patch by modifying the compilation instruction you
gave me in the other bug and handediting the above patch into the files.
Everything went through fine. It appears to work, I could not find any problems
of information put into custom fields. Although the problem still remains that
only a part of the contacts shown in Owncloud are shown in Kaddressbook. I am
not sure if this is related. I will file another bug

Bug ID: 318177

Classification: Unclassified

Kaddressbook allows to store a blogfeed in a contact. It would be nice, if
Akregator had a function to half automatically subscribe to them and also the
other way around to associate a blogfeed with a contact.
Basic idea:
- No automatic subscription, the user should be asked in Akregator if he wants
to add the feed.
- It should be easy to go through the list of existing blogfeeds in contacts
and subscribe to them, even if the user did not subscribe to them earlier.

2013-04-10 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317767

ok, unfortunately appears is the right word. I have two laptops which sync the
same address book to KDE from owncloud. One of the runs the KDE 4.10.2 package
from the sync client, the other one the package which I have compiled from your
instructions.
The one which I have compiled from your instructions. The later one shows the
contact showing the messenger information which missed before. But the 4.10.2
package shows more contacts. Is it difficult to find out which the exact
reasons are:
- It is missing a contact with an identical lastname
- It is missing 4 out of 8 contacts with the same name
- It appears to be missing contacts which just contain the name, nothing more.
- Contacts which have set to have Preferedtextformat set, have this information
resynced into custom-fields and the information is missing in its original
place.
- the name contains a German umlaut, which might be a helpful information
- one of the missing contacts has a in the organisation field, also might
be helpful.
In another example-search:
- one of the missing contacts has Name of the spouse-field synced to
own-fields as X-SPOUSENAME
- It seems like in general contacts with the full identical name are not synced
anymore.
I release that this might be a new bug or even bugs, but since this fixed
revealed or caused them, I thought it might make sense to start here.

Ok, something changed. It shows more contacts, but not all. Unfortunately I
have to compare it with owncloud directly, because my second laptop with 4.10.2
(Ubuntu Raring) without compiled package received an upgerade which appears to
have contained your earlies fixes.
Comparing with owncloud:
- Duplicate Full names are still not shown. Although the criteria may not be
the fact that they are duplicate, but that they only contain name + picture
(the origin of these is are Facebook-contacts from Android).
- MAILPREFEREDFORMATING, BLOGFEED, Y-SPOUSENAME, X-IMADRESS appear as custom
headers, but appart from X-SPOUSENAME the information is also displayed where
it should be.
Generally it has improved :-)

(In reply to comment #5)

 1. Create a new contact (with an IM entry) in an ownCloud synced address
 book.
This contact gets uploaded (no error, no warning).
But on the webinterface of ownCloud there is no IM entry visible (in the
mySQL Database it is, ownCloud bug?)
 2. Resync your local address book .
 The contact gets deleted! (local)
Where this meant as instructions for me? Or what? Because in my case the
contact containing messenger addresses are newer uploaded when coming from KDE.
It works however when comming from Android.

Just installed the new version: The problem still exits, the behaviour has only
changed in that way that the entries which should be uploaded disappear and can
not be changed (remove the messenger entry). This should be changed back, so
that in case of other syncing problems, they not synced ones can be retrieved.

I am running KDE 4.10.1 and I am using the DAV-groupware-resource to sync my
contacts with Owncloud. Unfortunately syncing fails if I add messenger (tried
with Skype and ICQ) information to the contact. I then receive a notification
that the element remains unchanged because an error occured the information on
the server remains unchanged.
I believe the problem must be in KDE since I can sync contacts from Android to
Owncloud which contain messenger information without a problem.

I am now syncing my addressbook via owncloud to my phone and visa versa.
Android allows it to give custom labels to phone numbers. For example I use it,
to use the label parents when the additional number of a contact is the one
he uses when he is at his parents. Kaddressbook unfortunately does not allow
those custom labels and does not even show the existing ones which come in via
sync.
It would be nice, if this behaviour could be changed. Showing the labels which
come from other sources would be a first step, but it would be even better, if
it would be possible to use Kaddressbook also to edit a custom label.

When I have many tabs open which each provide an rss feed which is shown with
an icon in the bottom line of Akregator, the window maximising is broken. This
means the maximised window exceeds the screen.
I will attach a screenshot which shows the several rss-feed-icons
I believe there are two problems with this. First of all I believe it does not
make much sense to show so much rss-icons. Only the rss-icon which belongs to
the active tab should be shown.
The second problem is that so much icons should not cause screen maximising to
break because there are sometimes also other (error) icons in that bar.

Suggestion: If there is no better solution and it is possible. If there are
multiple results for the same address,
- the one in the addressbook is shown only
- if there is no result in the addressbook, the multiple results are only shown
the first time. The second time, only the one result is shown, which the user
selected the first time.

From bug/comment https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259949#c308

Results from data show double results. This problem is minor, but would be nice
if there was a solution to. Examples: Liselotte Meier
liselotte.me...@ausgedachtedomain.de Liselotte Meier
liselotte.me...@ausgedachtedomain.de Liselotte Meier

liselotte.me...@ausgedachtedomain.de Dr. Liselotte Meier
liselotte.me...@ausgedachtedomain.de Even though it is all the same email
address, they all show up in results. Ideally there should be only one result
showing up and if that result is in addressbook, it should not show up at all.

4. it appears that at least old installations do not automatically activate
search completion, so it must be done manually. It would make sense if
eventually broken configurations get fixed on an update.

It would be best, if this would be fixed after all problems with autocompletion
are solved.

[kaddressbook] [Bug 315041] New: integrate WEBSMS into Kaddressbook / KDE / Plasma active

2013-02-13 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=315041

active
Classification: Unclassified

   Version: 4.10
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist

  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m.w...@web.de
CC: to...@kde.org

WEBSMS is an GPL'ed SMS software for Android which through several plugins
allows to send SMS messages via several SMS services. It would be very cool, if
WEBSMS could be integrated into Kaddressbook or KDE itself or if KDE could make
itself compatible to use the WEBSMSplugins/Connectors. I don't know which makes
technically more sense.
https://code.google.com/p/websmsdroid/
By doing this, KDE could access to a high number of those SMS services. This
could also make very much sense to for Plasma Active, so that Plasma Active
could make use of it.
I was not sure, where to add this wish. Since I am personally mostly interested
to send SMS-texts via Kaddressbook I added it here.
So it would be nice, if someone could add other appropriate people from Plasma
Active.
May be this could also be a Google Summer of Code project.

It would be very useful to be able to send and receive contacts from/to mobile

I am not sure what your question means. The basic idea would be to define a
preferred communication language in the contact. If one writes an email, the
first email address entered would set the spell check language, if other email
addresses are added as CC, they would not be tested for preferred language. It
is just meant to be as a help, not perfect. So the user can change the spell
checking language manually.

[Bug 307645] New: automatically determine the coordinates of an address

2012-09-30 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=307645

Bug ID: 307645
  Severity: wishlist
   Version: 4.9
  Priority: NOR
CC: to...@kde.org
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
Summary: automatically determine the coordinates of an address
Classification: Unclassified
OS: Linux
  Reporter: m.w...@web.de
  Hardware: Ubuntu Packages
Status: UNCONFIRMED
 Component: general
   Product: kaddressbook

Kaddressbook has a field where one can add a coordinate of where the contact is
located. This is something one normally does not know and has to lock up. So I
guess no many people really use that feature. I would be much more helpful, if
Kaddressbook would help to find the coordinates through the address. I am not
sure if there is a webservice for that, but I assume that at least the
coordinates of the city could be retrieved somewhere so determining the
coordinates would be easier. If it would be easier to add coordinates to an
address this would also allow other usages like viewing all contacts in a
certain area or country on a map.

Reproducible: Always

I have IMAP. May be that makes the difference. And it does not hapen all the
time. But I have seen it more than once. So it may need a certain condition
(which I do not have a clue at the moment).

I would suggest to reopen. Of course one can configure which browser should be
the main browser in KDE, but as I understand this wish, this is about selecting
a different browser on case to case basis which is needed when certain pages do
not work in the standard browser (but one does not want to change the standard
browser). Dolphin has an Open With in the context menu showing the other
programs capable of opening a specfic filetype. This should be implemented in
Kmail in the same way.

[Bug 172387] mail context menu: open link with firefox, konqueror, opera, other installed browser

2012-07-27 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172387

Hmm, I am not sure you understand. Its not about testing a different browser.
It is about knowing in advance that a certain page received by mail will not
work the default browser.

In my example I still have Konqueror set as my main browser because I like its
KDE integration even though it fails with some pages. It fails for example with
Ebay pages (bug is reported, not ebay as such, but there are some things which
do not work). So if I receive an email from Ebay with a link in it, I need to
open it in Firefox. An Open with - and the list of available browsers would
help very much (would save the copy and paste). At the moment the context menu
when clicking on a link contains 4 elements, a fift and then a submenu with the
available browsers would not take so much space.

Ebay is just an example. Unfortunately the web/browsers are a moving target and
at the moment it seems like utopia to have one browser for all purposes/pages.
I know of many people who use more than one browser (not really by choice, but
because it does not work otherwise).

 Component: general
   Product: akregator

I frequently surf in wireless hotspots which require a login. These hotspots
redirect any webtraffic to there start page. When I connect to such a hotspot
while akregator is restoring tabs, all these tabs are redirected to the hotspot
page. On next reboot/restart of akregator the browser history of these tabs is
lost, which means they all load the hotspot page and there is no way to reload
the original tab. It would be could if there was a way to prevent this loosing
of the tabs since I always keep many open to read or work with them later.

[Bug 259949] Kmail does not use all addressbooks for autocompletion

I really wish this bug enough priority so that would be fixed for the release
of KDE 4.9. It is very enoying and I have to admit that for most of time I am
using Thunderbird now. Mainly because of this bug (partly also because Kmail is
still very slow (much faster than in the beginning, but very slow compared to
Thunderbird)). And I really would prefer a KDE integrated mailer.

 Component: general
   Product: kmail2

Since Kmail 4.9 Beta 2 (did not test Beta1) I experience an extreme delay (10
min or more) or indefinite freezes on sending emails. Killing Kmail then is the
only solution. During those freezes I see highly cpu-usage of virtuoso-t
(25-35%). Killing virtuoso-t just leads to a restart.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Write an Email
2. Send
3. Freeeze of Kmail (either indefinitely or fdor a very long time)

I just saw that it is now possible to set prefered message format and if remote

so cool. Now I would like it also to be possible to set the prerered spell
checking language for a contact. So that when I write an email or an IM via

I quite often receive a notification about the connection to the server been
lost. This happens for example when I move from cable connection to wifi and
vica versa. Or when the internet connection is slow and the connection to the
server ist lost for a moment. The problem about this is that when the
notification has arrived, the connection has already been reestablished and is
quite useless and is distracting. I would suggest to show the notification only
when the connection is lost and can not be reestablished within a certain time
frame. I do not know what is reasonable, may be 5 or 10 seconds. In this case
the notification would only be shown when it really matters, when it is likely
that the reason for the interruption will last longer.

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/534.34 (KHTML,
like Gecko) rekonq Safari/534.34
Build Identifier:

When I edit a mail in the outgoing mail folder via right click-edit message,
the message is opened, but not removed from the outgoing folder. This means the
mail is duplicated. When finishing the editing and sending the edited mail, the
other one is still there so the edited and the unedited mail are sent. This
problem only occurs when you use send later when sending your mails.

Reproducible: Always

[Bug 295511] [regression 4.8.0 - 4.8.1] search function in sieve-filter editor not working anymore

2012-03-08 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295511

Yes, but if you have a big and complex filter, the error which is in the file,
was made during the last edit. Normally I will only edit a small part of the
filter. So I will know a search pattern, to find the place I just edited and
will be able to find the error, even though I can not find the exact line
number which was named in the error report. I had the problem with identifying
the line number of a bug also, bug I was always able to find it by searching
the area I last edited. With search gone, the problem is worse.
