[Akonadi] [Bug 323623] DAV-ressource should detect network status instead of spreading error notifications if there is no network
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=323623 --- Comment #2 from m.w...@web.de --- I mainly had this when I am using my 3G connection. But also when the system starts up and the connection is still build. I also had this problem on wireless networks which require a login The main annoying part is the fact that there is not one but several error messages and also that that it makes a sound. Which of course I could turn of, but I would consider this a general problem. If there is a problem the error message should be less intruding, because in most of the cases it wont matter since the network will be restored. So my suggestion would be only to notify the user if the problem exists for a longer time (x min). X may be 10 min. And then only one notification for all resources. May be after another x min another and so on. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

What makes it really annoying to use is the fact, that is obviously is not able to handle situations when there is not network. The notifications area is spamed. I think there is no need for me to be notified. The resource should just detect the network status and act upon it, meaning just waiting until the network is restored. [akregator] [Bug 322545] New: feed password requests appear to halt feed fetching
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322545 Bug ID: 322545 Summary: feed password requests appear to halt feed fetching Classification: Unclassified Product: akregator Version: 4.10.4 Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org Reporter: m.w...@web.de I have some feeds in my feed list which from time to time turn password protected as such or some single posts are posts are password protected. This is normally changed back to normal within in 1 or 2 days. But while this exits, there are two annoying problems: 1. It appears that Akregator halts the feed refreshing until I answer the authentication. This is really bad and annoying, because 2. Since I do not know the password (and do not really want to know it), I can not get rid of the dialogue permanently. Or the only way to do this would be to remove the feed (which I do not want, since the problem is fixed normally within in 1-2 days). So it would be great, if there was a kind of checkbox in those authentication dialogues [x] ignore authentication request permanently and then that feeds are still fetched while Akregator is waiting for the users response to the authentication box. Sometimes I want to move a contact between those or want to know in which adressbook a contact is. At the moment the only way of finding this out is to deselect other addressbook in order to find out in which addressbook a contact is. So I want to suggest to have an indicator to which addressbook a contact belong in different ways: If there is more than one addressbook show the icon of the corresponding addressbook before the contact name. and also show this icon and the name of the addressbook in the column showing the contact itself. Furthermore there should be an indicator to which addressbook a contact belongs when a contact is edited. It should be possible to change that addressbook there via a dropdown menu which shows the available (and writable) addressbook. Furthermore it would make sense having an an indicator which shows if an addressbook/entry is not editable. At the moment there is none. [Akonadi] [Bug 318966] Not all owncloud contacts are shown in Kaddressbook
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=318966 --- Comment #1 from m.w...@web.de --- I just took a closer look at the contacts which are not synced and came closer to the problem. The problem seems to be related to the size of the contacts which is the problem. I noticed that only a relative few of the contacts which are still shown in Kaddressbook have a contact photo. So I took a closer look and discovered that those have a contact photo in a very small resolution. I then made a few tests. Created a contact within in Owncloud with just a name. This is perfectly synced to Kaddressbook. Then I added a large picture as a contact photo from within KDE and from Owncloud. After syncing the contact is not shown in Kadressbook anymore, but the contact still is in Owncloud (with the picture). After removing the picture from within Owncloud the contacts reappear, but only after restarting Akonadi. Just resyncing does not help. This procedure also helps to make existing contacts reappear. I would like to empathize that I believe it is the size of the contact and not the fact that there is a contact photo which seems to cause the problem. Unfortunately I could not find where Akonadi caches the contacts which might have given some indication of the size problem. I hope this information helps to find the cause of the bug. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Akonadi] [Bug 317767] owncloud syncing fails if contact contains messenger information
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=317767 --- Comment #17 from m.w...@web.de --- ok, unfortunately appears is the right word. I have two laptops which sync the same address book to KDE from owncloud. One of the runs the KDE 4.10.2 package from the sync client, the other one the package which I have compiled from your instructions. The one which I have compiled from your instructions. The later one shows the contact showing the messenger information which missed before. But the 4.10.2 package shows more contacts. Is it difficult to find out which the exact reasons are: - It is missing a contact with an identical lastname - It is missing 4 out of 8 contacts with the same name - It appears to be missing contacts which just contain the name, nothing more. - Contacts which have set to have Preferedtextformat set, have this information resynced into custom-fields and the information is missing in its original place. - the name contains a German umlaut, which might be a helpful information - one of the missing contacts has a in the organisation field, also might be helpful. In another example-search: - one of the missing contacts has Name of the spouse-field synced to own-fields as X-SPOUSENAME - It seems like in general contacts with the full identical name are not synced anymore. I release that this might be a new bug or even bugs, but since this fixed revealed or caused them, I thought it might make sense to start here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

It would be very cool, if WEBSMS could be integrated into Kaddressbook or KDE itself or if KDE could make itself compatible to use the WEBSMSplugins/Connectors. I don't know which makes technically more sense. https://code.google.com/p/websmsdroid/ By doing this, KDE could access to a high number of those SMS services. This could also make very much sense to for Plasma Active, so that Plasma Active could make use of it. I was not sure, where to add this wish. Since I am personally mostly interested to send SMS-texts via Kaddressbook I added it here. So it would be nice, if someone could add other appropriate people from Plasma Active. [Bug 172387] mail context menu: open link with firefox, konqueror, opera, other installed browser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172387 m.w...@web.de changed: What|Removed |Added CC||m.w...@web.de --- Comment #2 from m.w...@web.de --- I would suggest to reopen. Of course one can configure which browser should be the main browser in KDE, but as I understand this wish, this is about selecting a different browser on case to case basis which is needed when certain pages do not work in the standard browser (but one does not want to change the standard browser). Dolphin has an Open With in the context menu showing the other programs capable of opening a specfic filetype. This should be implemented in Kmail in the same way. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs
[Bug 172387] mail context menu: open link with firefox, konqueror, opera, other installed browser
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=172387 --- Comment #4 from m.w...@web.de --- Hmm, I am not sure you understand. Its not about testing a different browser. It is about knowing in advance that a certain page received by mail will not work the default browser. In my example I still have Konqueror set as my main browser because I like its KDE integration even though it fails with some pages. It fails for example with Ebay pages (bug is reported, not ebay as such, but there are some things which do not work). So if I receive an email from Ebay with a link in it, I need to open it in Firefox. An Open with - and the list of available browsers would help very much (would save the copy and paste). At the moment the context menu when clicking on a link contains 4 elements, a fift and then a submenu with the available browsers would not take so much space. Ebay is just an example. Unfortunately the web/browsers are a moving target and at the moment it seems like utopia to have one browser for all purposes/pages. I know of many people who use more than one browser (not really by choice, but because it does not work otherwise). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

[Bug 259949] Kmail does not use all addressbooks for autocompletion
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259949 --- Comment #136 from m.w...@web.de --- I really wish this bug enough priority so that would be fixed for the release of KDE 4.9. It is very enoying and I have to admit that for most of time I am using Thunderbird now. Mainly because of this bug (partly also because Kmail is still very slow (much faster than in the beginning, but very slow compared to Thunderbird)). And I really would prefer a KDE integrated mailer. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. ___ Kdepim-bugs mailing list Kdepim-bugs@kde.org https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/kdepim-bugs

This happens for example when I move from cable connection to wifi and vica versa. Or when the internet connection is slow and the connection to the server ist lost for a moment. The problem about this is that when the notification has arrived, the connection has already been reestablished and is quite useless and is distracting. I would suggest to show the notification only when the connection is lost and can not be reestablished within a certain time frame. I do not know what is reasonable, may be 5 or 10 seconds. In this case the notification would only be shown when it really matters, when it is likely that the reason for the interruption will last longer. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=295511 --- Comment #4 from m.w...@web.de --- Yes, but if you have a big and complex filter, the error which is in the file, was made during the last edit. Normally I will only edit a small part of the filter.
