Christian Mollekopf has some debug output, although he cannot share it (contains data from my system) but he might be able to look for something suspicious. With akonadiconsole I discovered that Kmail/Kontact drops at least two (or up to 7) Akonadi::CollectionFetchJob per timestamp and they keep on waiting for minutes.
