If you configure a folder to be special (sent mail, trash, templates, drafts),
the special icon should appear next to the folder name. However, this doesn't
happen for most cases.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Settings Configure KMail
2. Identity, select an account, Modify
3. In the Advanced tab, click on one of the folder selection icons and select a
folder

or
1. Settings Configure KMail

trash

Actual Results:
The folder icon does not change in the folder view.

Expected Results:
The folder should get a special icon indicating its purpose.

More information: *something* happens after I tell kmail to jump. If I was
viewing an HTML message and jump to a folder with HTML turned off, the message
will redisplay in text only. And the Folder menu options change (for example, I
could not select Prefer HTML to plain text, it was greyed out)

[Bug 259083] New: [regression] Selecting a folder shows messages from the top

2010-12-07 Thread Thiago Macieira
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259083

Summary: [regression] Selecting a folder shows messages from
the top
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.0.89
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: message list
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: thi...@kde.org

Version: 2.0.89 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

In KMail 1, when you selected a folder, the message list would show either:

1) an unread or new email
2) the last message you had selected

Also, the message display would show the last selected email. This no longer
happens.

In Configure KMail Misc, the setting When entering a folder has the option
selected: Jump to last selected message.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a folder with more messages than the list view can show (that is,
scroll bars)
2. Select an email in it, one that causes the list to scroll down
3. Select another folder
4. Select the first folder (from step 1)

Actual Results:
The message list view shows the top message, the message view is empty.

Expected Results:
The message list view should scroll to the last message I had selected and the
message view should show that message.

[Bug 259104] New: [regression] Quick search field resets but doesn't get visually reset

2010-12-07 Thread Thiago Macieira
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259104

Summary: [regression] Quick search field resets but doesn't get
visually reset
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 2.0.89
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: UI
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: thi...@kde.org

Version: 2.0.89 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

The quick search field atop the message list allows one to type words and have
them searched on the fly. In KMail 1, if you changed folders while the field
was not empty, it would be cleared and the new folder's entire message list
would be shown.

In KMail2, the field's behaviour is cleared, but the field isn't visually
cleared.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a folder with messages
2. Type something in the Quick search field
3. Select another folder with messages

Actual Results:
The new folder's full message list is shown (as expected), but the quick search
field still contains the contents.

Expected Results:
The new folder's full message list should be shown and the quick search field
should be cleared.

Moreover, after this happens, it's not possible to modify visually the field.
If you click on the field and type, nothing is shown, but the message list does
react and filters.

Since the field doesn't react, it's also not possible to erase the contents
that are being shown.

What's more, the Clear icon button is missing.

It does work the way described. Unfortunately this functionality does not work
the way it is intended.

This is a configuration option and should be instantly and durably active. The
only thing that needs to be configured is wether this is a folder specific
option or a general setting. In order to make this possible we would need to
include a general setting into the KMail configuration dialogue and a rework
this setting to Use standard display options - when disabeling this option
the rest of the dialogue should get active.

That is correct. The favourite folder shows nothing at all, which means that
adding a folder has no visible result, either via dragging or via Right Click
- Add to Favourites.

If you try to re-add a folder that you've already added, you get a can't drop
icon and the menu entry in the RMB menu disappears.

Hej,

In the New Contact view, text input fields and button heights are not
properly aligned, which constitutes to an unsteady look.
This is style specific and we have no influence on this...

Furthermore, the spacing between elements is not fully even and the flap
 labels
 exceed the flaps.
Fixed already

An icon instead of X for the delete button might help.
Fixed now

The photo button has a fixed size, so we can't align it to the top _and_ the
bottom of the lineedits, so I have aligned it to the top of the name button
now.

Old issues are fixed. But with longer string in e.g. the German translation
 the
buttons on the right side are getting misaligned. Best solutions would be to
get a maximum size for the buttons and a label like Thisisalongtex
This won't help, we do not gain any new space on screen with that ;)
The problem is that the comboboxes for the phone number types are too width.
The reason for this are the long german translations for the number types. Any
chance to make them shorter?

This is caused by the problem that the KViewStateSaver does multiple
selectionModel-select(index) calls instead of one
selectionModel-select(selectionrange). This causes some ABCNV to show only the
content of the last selected collection.

[Bug 259125] New: kleopatra server features should be disabled

2010-12-07 Thread Marcus Brinkmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259125

Summary: kleopatra server features should be disabled
   Product: Kleopatra Mobile
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Windows CE
OS/Version: Windows CE
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: marcus.brinkm...@ruhr-uni-bochum.de

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Windows CE

kleo mobile is not yet used as a server and thus should not minimze itself (or
put itself in the background or whatever magic it does), because that makes
kleopatra inaccessible to the user (the windows ce device does not have a
status icon panel similar to windows). If you then switch away from the
kleopatra window, it disappears and can not be brought back, while kleopatra
keeps running in the background.

Also, kleopatra mobile should not ask for confirmation if it should be
terminated when chosing exit from the menu, because the question is not
relevant for the mobile version. And while we are at it, the location of the
exit menu entry is inconsistent with the other mobile apps (but I will make a
separate report on that).

[Bug 259128] New: menu structure inconsistent with other mobile apps

2010-12-07 Thread Marcus Brinkmann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259128

Summary: menu structure inconsistent with other mobile apps
   Product: Kleopatra Mobile

  Platform: Windows CE
OS/Version: Windows CE
Status: NEW
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: marcus.brinkm...@ruhr-uni-bochum.de

Version: unspecified (using Devel)
OS:Windows CE

other mobile apps have:

[Navigation Path (eg Home, or Folder)] - [Context specific menu items for
current navigation path]
[Other context specific menus] - [Other items]
[AppName] - [Quit, Minimize, New..., Search..., Work Offline, Configure,
Manual, Report Bug Or Request Feature, About AppName]

In contrast to that, Kleopatra currently has the following structure:

[File] - [New Certificate, Search certificate, import ,..., Quit]
[View] - [Refresh]
[Certificates] - [...]
[Tools] - [...]
[Configuration] - [Selftest, Configure...]

I think that a File menu is a bit of a misnomer, and I guess most of the
entries in that menu (at the very least the New, Search and Quit entries) would
be better in a [Kleopatra] top level menu that should also contain the
Configure... item. The selftest entry is superfluous in a mobile setting where
the environment is more controlled and failing selftests are highly
exceptional. The View, Certificates and Tools menus are unproblematic. So
something like this I guess:

[View] - ...
[Certificates] - ...
[Tools] - ...
[Kleopatra] - [Quit, Minimize, New..., Search..., Work Offline, Configure,
Manual, Report Bug Or Request Feature, About AppName]

Note: The Minimize entry here is translated with the german equivalent to
Switch Application, and it should not be the same minimization that's done by
kleopatra in server mode (which is bad on the mobile device). Here it refers
to the same function as in the other mobile apps, whatever that is.

A UI expert may have more opinions on the menu structure.

some dialogs are too small and not scrollable, specifically:

the key successfully generated in the OpenPGP cert generation wizard, the
export button appears at the bottom of the screen, and the ok etc buttons are
off screen.

the smime new cert dialog which queries the cert meta data (CN etc) is way too
big.

the german text of the you can support random by entering text dialog is cut
off (otoh, the text is probably useless on windows ce anyway)

Reproducible: Didn't try

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.85)
OS:Linux

I restarted my computer normally, on using kmail I found that recently added
addresses no longer appeared in the autocomplete list. Opening kaddressbook I
found that the list of names was replaced by a list of the vcard filenames (see
attached screenshots). Clicking on one of the filenames to try to show the
address causes a crash (backtrace - a bit bizzare - below). It is impossible to
add new addresses to either the local contacts or personal addressbook. The
files do still exist.

I am running kdepim 4.4.8 on kde sc 4.6 beta 2. Akonadi is 1.4.80.

This is a dataloss bug.

[Bug 259151] New: Moving/copying messages to folders causes redownload of the entire folder [Exchange server]

2010-12-07 Thread Thiago Macieira

Summary: Moving/copying messages to folders causes redownload

   Product: Akonadi
   Version: 1.4.80
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: IMAP resource
AssignedTo: er...@kde.org
ReportedBy: thi...@kde.org

Version: 1.4.80 (using Devel)
OS:Linux

If I copy or move an email to a different folder from KMail2 on my Exchange
2010 server (no UIDPLUS support), the IMAP resource proceeds to redownload
everything in that folder. There appears to be some faulty logic in
kdepim/runtime/resources/imap/retrieveitemstask.cpp in
RetrieveItemsTask::onFinalSelectDone.

If I apply the following patch to that file:
-kDebug(5327)  UIDNEXT check failed, refetching mailbox;
+kDebug(5327) UIDNEXT check failed (old UIDNEXT = oldNextUid
+ but current UIDNEXT = nextUid ), refetching
mailbox;

I see in my debug output:

akonadi_imap_resource_0(12064)/kdepimlibs (kimap)
RetrieveItemsTask::onFinalSelectDone: UIDNEXT check failed (old UIDNEXT = 3012
but current UIDNEXT = 3013 ), refetching mailbox

The commands conversation with the server that was logged, relating to that
mailbox is:

Taking the liberty of setting this to Major, as it makes Akonadi very hard to
use for people with servers without UIDPLUS (Exchange 2005, 2007, 2010).

Version: 1.13.5 (using KDE 4.5.3)
OS:Linux

When I create a link in kmail by selecting a piece of text and clicking the
link button, somehow the anchor tag isn't closed, so (infuriatingly) everything
I type after that gets added to the link name. If I select only the portion of
text that I want to serve as link name, then kmail automatically (and to my
great frustration and extreme brain swelling anger) selects ALL the text that
it thinks is the link name (all the text that is effectively and wrongly
linked) before opening the dialog window to edit the link. The only way to add
two consecutive links to different locations is to first type all the email
including all the links and only then add the relevant links.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add text that you want to use as link name
2. Create the link
3. Write some more text after that

Actual Results:
Everything typed (step 3 above) after adding the link (step 2) gets added to
the link name.

Expected Results:
The link name is correctly enclosed by the anchor tags and I'm able to add text
after this link without it being added to the link name

available 'sent-mail' messages for translation

From where should kmail take the translation for e.g. 'sent-mail'?

The screenshot shows only two .po[t] (kmail-migrator.po[t] and kalarm.po[t])
which contain the message 'sent-mail' in current trunk.

I do not assume the mentioned files are loaded by kmail at runtime.

But I assume there must be a i18n thinggy implemented in kmail ...

[Bug 259159] New: sometimes knode highlights message in messages list but doesn't open it

2010-12-07 Thread Arkadiusz Miskiewicz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259159

Summary: sometimes knode highlights message in messages list
but doesn't open it
   Product: knode
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: ar...@maven.pl

Created an attachment (id=54265)
 -- (http://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=54265)
the problem

Version: unspecified (using KDE 4.5.4)
OS:Linux

Sometimes knode doesn't open news message after cliking on it. It only
highlights subject of that message in messages list window but doesn't show
it's body.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open knode
2. go to some subscribed group that has list of X messages already fetched and
has new list to fetch (because there are new posts)
3. click on existing message on the list. Do that fast enough, before knode
finishes fetching list of new messages.
4. fetching of new messages list is completing but my message body is still not
displayed

Actual Results:
Message subtitle is highlighted in messages list window but body of the message
is not displayed. Message window is empty.

Expected Results:
I would expect to message be also displayed (and not only subject highlighted).

I have to click on some other message and then click back on my original
message to see it's body.

Attached image shows what happened when following steps to reproduce.

From a quick research indeed Exchange doesn't support custom flags. :(
So we need:
1) to detect if the server we are talking to supports it or not, and if not
clean the FLAGS arguments from custom flags
2) store the flags inside the mail as well, in custom headers

[Bug 259161] New: Kontact/Akonadi non-sync with Google

Qt Version: 4.7.1
Operating System: Linux 2.6.34.7-0.5-desktop x86_64

-- Information about the crash:
I was entering an event on Kontact and reviewing the Akonadi Google resource
to verify that the event was indeed entered on both calendars. Akonadi or
Kontact is not passing the event to Google. Today's crash showed me that this
lack of synchronization has been occuring for at least one week. This crash
however is the first time I noticed that events were not being entered. The
previous crashes have been marked as duplicates connected with Qt. Is that
where the error is really occuring? or is there another problem masked by a Qt
issue?

The crash can be reproduced every time.

I am wondering some parts are translated: bug 258926 ...

I can receive mails from my pop.gmx.net resource.

But I cannot send mails:
'There were problems trying to queue the message for sending: Message has
invalid sent-mail folder.'

As you see there is much work left for a working automatically migration ...

Please do not call me 'DAU'. But a migration tool must be useable by DAU
without manual adaptions ... ;-)

Status: UNCONFIRMED

ReportedBy: mar...@gkc.org.uk

Version: 1.12.4 (using KDE 1.2)
OS:Linux

Recently the checking progress bar has disappeared from the bottom right
of the main kmail window. Instead I get a string of popup messages
stacked up on the bottom left of the window which say things like
Checking account..., Retrieving messages... and so on.

These disappear after a second or two, but are very distracting:
a whole set pops up each time I change to a new folder.

I have searched all the settings and configure windows I can find,
but I can't find anything related to this! I even tried restoring kmailrc
from a backup, but that had no effect!

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
Have not been able to restore original behaviour, so cannot reproduce it!

moved them with kmail to 'Local Folders' and then back. Now mail counts are

[Bug 259178] New: KMail duplicates Mails from pop3-Account randomly

2010-12-07 Thread Joe Hurke
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259178

Summary: KMail duplicates Mails from pop3-Account randomly
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: pop3
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: joe.hu...@gmx.de

Version: 1.13.2 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS:Linux

I have NOT selected KMail to leave messages at the pop-server.
But it looks like, KMail IS leaving some messages at the pop-server.
So the next time I download eMails, these messages are downloaded again.
So they become duplicated in my eMail-folders.
I still found no rule, which messages become duplicated.
I have activated a pop-filter for messages bigger than 50KB.
But some duplicated messages are bigger, some are smaller than 50KB.
I looks like, some messages are left about a week on the server. (After that
they are no more duplicated, when downloading eMails.)
No, I have NOT selected KMail to leave messages at the pop-server.
Deleting duplicated messages is probably my most often called action with
KMail, since I tried to work with KDE4.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
This problem happend every time when downloading eMail (from my pop-accounts),
since I switched from KDE 3.5.10 to KDE 4.
KDE 3 was not affected by this problem.

OS: Linux (i686) release 2.6.32-26-generic
Compiler: cc

[Bug 259181] New: Access to AdressBook by Filters is not working

2010-12-07 Thread Joe Hurke
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259181

Summary: Access to AdressBook by Filters is not working
   Product: kmail
   Version: 1.13.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: filtering
AssignedTo: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
ReportedBy: joe.hu...@gmx.de

Version: 1.13.2 (using KDE 4.4.2)
OS:Linux

One of my KMail-Filters put all messages from senders from the KMail-AdressBook
in a special folder e.g. known senders.
But since I tried working with KDE 4, no senders are recognized any more.
On KDE 3.5.10 this was working.
The adress book is reachable from KMail, e.g. by menu item.
Other filters for putting eMails in special folders are working.
When I choose add eMail-Adress to AdressBook at an eMail-Adress, that is just
listed in the AdressBook, it gets duplicated in the AdressBook.
Perhaps there is a problem with capiTALIsation:
Some of the letters of the known adresses in the adress book are writen with
capitals. And in the arrived eMails they are all written without capitals.
Perhaps this is one reason for not working eMail-Filters based on the
AdressBook.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
It happens every time I receive eMails from known adresses since I switched
from KDE 3.5.10 to KDE 4.
KDE 3 was not affected by this problem.

Michael, I could not reproduce your workaround... I tried to perform the
steps you described and it ended up in the same spot Do you have other
ideas?

I saw that I had multiple mysqld and akonadi* processes running, killed them
all, and retried to start akonadi again. No success.

You can delete the thread using Ctrl + delete, though. But I think you are
right and deleting the top-most message on a collapsed thread should delete the
thread and not only the top-most message.
