2013-06-02 Thread PK
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320597

Bug ID: 320597
Summary: failure when trying to file a bug in
pimsettingexporter
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kmail2
   Version: 4.10.2
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: misc
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: pieterkristen...@gmail.com

When i try to file a bug considdering the pimsettingexporter bugs.kde.org
responds Sorry, either the product pimsettingexporter does not exist or you
aren't authorized to enter a bug into it.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. startup Kmai2
2. hit in the menu /Tools/Export Kmail data
3. hit button bugfileassistent.
Actual Results:
bugs.kde.org doesn't know what to do. Therefor it is impossible to file a bug.

Expected Results:
being able to file a bug.

pimsettingexporter does nothing for me. It is useless. It puzzles me how it
windes up in the KDE sc.

[kmail2] [Bug 320597] failure when trying to file a bug in pimsettingexporter

2013-06-02 Thread PK
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320597

--- Comment #2 from PK pieterkristen...@gmail.com ---
Yes I have more infos.
I have six (imap) accounts in my kmail2 userprofile. And I changed a lot of
settings. Kmail2 is realy great!
It would save a huge amount of time when I could backup this profile with all
its settings. So I start the pimsettingexporter (b.t.w. I also have to
startup the pimsettingsEXPORTER to IMPORT a profile...). Then I follow
instructions. I use Kubuntu (KDE sc 4.10.2). The pimsettingexporter kept saying
couldn't dump mysql. I appear to have solved that by installing mysql-server
and msql-client. Is that a missing dependency on my system?
When I take the zip-file pimsettingexporter produced, and try to reproduce the
profile ONLY the identeties are reproduced correctly. The imap accounts are
turned into wrong pop3 accounts and none of the settings are reproduced.
Further I can't notice anything that has happened.
To me this is a disappointment but if you use KDE professional I think this is
unacceptable.

The imap accounts are turned into wrong pop3 accounts not good if it's
transform to pop3 account.
Is that a missing dependency on my system? you need it to reinstall it. Will
add debug info about it.

I really like to help you. I think pimsettingexporter is a great idea. But if
you say you need it to reinstall it. Will add debug info about it I suppose
by reinstall IT you mean Kmail2? And how do I add debug...
I didn't say that I use the vertical layout in Kmail2. Even that isn't
restored on my target system. Perhaps the problem is not so much EXportin as it
is IMporting.
But I will reinstall Kmail2 and see what happens.
Keep up the good work!

I had to again set up Kmail by hand. Now I have only three accounts set up.
I made a backup of the kmail-data. Here http://tinypic.com/r/3013le8/5 you see
what Ark shows. It looks completely descent.
I think it is with the restoring that everything becomes a mess.

Hello Salvo,

can you check if this problem persists with KDe/Kmail 4.10? I believe that many
old encryption bugs should be fixed in this version. Also could you give an
example how to produce such emails?

2013-06-02 Thread Christoph Lange
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=212952

--- Comment #2 from Christoph Lange lan...@web.de ---
Hi Daniel,

(In reply to comment #1)
can you check if this problem persists with KDE/Kmail 4.10?

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I'm no longer actively using Kmail and
therefore it would take me too much time to try to reproduce this bug.

 I believe that
many old encryption bugs should be fixed in this version.

I'm sure you are right, but I'm not sure what's the best way to deal with this
bug. Maybe close it, and wait whether someone else experiences such a problem
in future? (Let's hope not.)

 Also could you
give an example how to produce such emails?

I don't recall the details, but I think I was referring to a real email that
someone else had sent to me, using my public key, and most likely using a
(possibly buggy?) mail client other than Kmail.

Another update on this.

I run without CRM114 spam filter rules.

First on Ext4 to make sure its not BTRFS.

Now on BTRFS.

For weeks already.

All is safe. :)

Still just 33 broken mails that I didnĀ“t fix up yet by copying mail files
with correct message ids over.

martin@merkaba:~/.local/share/local-mail find -size 1c | wc -l
33

I hope to be able to get back to this and try to find the cause of this data
loss with a test user setup soon.

--- Comment #3 from Daniel Hornung daniel.horn...@gmx.de ---
(In reply to comment #2)
Also could you give an example how to produce such emails?
I don't recall the details, but I think I was referring to a real email that
someone else had sent to me, using my public key, and most likely using a
(possibly buggy?) mail client other than Kmail.

Hi,
knowing the client might help, maybe you can look into that email's header if
you still have it. This information may also help other users with the same
problem to find this bug report.

Thanks,
Daniel

[kaddressbook] [Bug 320615] New: There is no indication in which addressbook a contact is.

2013-06-02 Thread m.wege
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=320615

Bug ID: 320615
Summary: There is no indication in which addressbook a contact
is.
Classification: Unclassified
   Product: kaddressbook
   Version: 4.10
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-bugs@kde.org
  Reporter: m.w...@web.de
CC: to...@kde.org

I have more than one adressbook. Sometimes I want to move a contact between
those or want to know in which adressbook a contact is. At the moment the only
way of finding this out is to deselect other addressbook in order to find out
in which addressbook a contact is.
So I want to suggest to have an indicator to which addressbook a contact belong
in different ways:
If there is more than one addressbook
show the icon of the corresponding addressbook before the contact name.
and
also show this icon and the name of the addressbook in the column showing the
contact itself.
Furthermore there should be an indicator to which addressbook a contact belongs
when a contact is edited. It should be possible to change that addressbook
there via a dropdown menu which shows the available (and writable) addressbook.
Furthermore it would make sense having an an indicator which shows if an
addressbook/entry is not editable. At the moment there is none. One just
notices that the addressbook entry can not be changed.

Reproducible: Always

For me many more contacts appeared after a recent update in Kubuntu. But still
not all contacts appear in KDE which appear perfectly in Owncloud and Android.
At the moment I have no indication which is the criteria for a contact not
appearing.
But I noticed also another bug to reappear:
X-SPOUSESNAME and other fields appears as own field.
I would help debugging, if I would be giving more information on how to debug,

I have reopened the bug, but I am not sure if I should reopen a new one
instead.

  Platform: Mageia RPMs

Mageia 3, clean install. Mail stored on Googlemail, accessed by IMAP. KMail
started promisingly, but then on the second day I noticed that some of my Sent
mail had been moved to Bin. I tried to retrieve them, but each time I clicked
on a message it simply disappeared.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Potential loss of data is too great for experimentation, so KMail will not be
used again until there is good reason to try it again.
