Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Nonprinting Characters and AutoSpellcheck tooltips

2014-06-26 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
+1
Nice catch!

I guess we often don't notice these things because they have become part of
our technical language. However, i agree that people who don't spend all
day using these tools probably think it looks clunky and it's probably
difficult to translate into some languages, unless people have assumed it
was already the way you suggest. (Btw I think that is one reason that MTs
probably wont catch-up with human translators. They can be a good tool
sometimes but too often they get it hilariously wrong where a human can be
more creative)

Tom :)

 tooltips
 To: LibreOffice-l10n l10n@global.libreoffice.org

 Hi All,

I came across the tooltip 'Nonprinting Characters' in Writer and i think
it should be changes to 'Non-printing Characters' or 'Non-printable
Characters', as nonprinting is not a valid english word, even in
 libreoffice's spellcheck. :)

Also came across the tooltip 'AutoSpellcheck' and think it should be
changed to 'Auto Spellcheck' or 'Automatic Spellcheck'.

I'm mentioning this in the mailing list as i didnt see any means to make
suggestions for english (US) in the translation website.

It is because the actual translation server has a problem, thus all
projects using this server have a problem.

you can check the service at
https://amagama-live.translatehouse.org/

it also is unable to produce results. And if you turn on your
browser's debugging features, you see that the request for the actual
translation gives a 500 internal server errror problem..

So we have to wait until that problem is solved/cannot do anything ourselves.

2014-06-26 Thread Christian Lohmaier
Hi *,

yesterday evening pootle templates have been updated for 4.3

In helpcontent, it is only changed icons, and those occurrences have
been fixed by a script, so no changes should show up.

As for UI, there's one removed string and one
-msgid Options
+msgid %1 Options

in svtools/uiconfig/ui.pot

All languages have been updated against the templates in the commandline.

similar.

For my language I might have to change the order,

Hi,

Our Simplified Chinese (zh_CN) team is planning to migrate to the new
layout website. I am going to handle most of the string localization
work, so could someone set the username and password and set the
appropriate permission rights for me, so that I can login to

A login name suokunlong or my email address (suokunl...@gmail.com)
will be fine.

Re: [libreoffice-l10n] Translation of Sindhi

2014-06-26 Thread Elanjelian Venugopal
Hi Shan,

Just to add to Sophie's earlier note, there is already a LibO project for
Sindi (see: https://translations.documentfoundation.org/sd/ ), although it
is likely that it has stalled. Its coordinator is listed as Chandrakant
Dhutadmal, also from CDAC. His contact e-mail is listed as
cpdhutad...@yahoo.com (see:
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Language_Teams ). As you familiarise
yourself with localising LibO to Sindi, you may want to get in touch with
Chandrakant, as well.

Best of luck!
