[libreoffice-l10n] BASIC vs. basic

2021-03-12 Thread Tuomas Hietala

Hello all,

In LibreOffice, the programming language BASIC is mostly written as
"Basic". This is a source of some confusion for translators (and I
imagine many English-speaking users, too) as it's not always clear
whether "Basic" should be interpreted as "basic" (a normal English word)
or "BASIC" (the programming language).

Is there any particular reason for the current convention? Microsoft
seems to be doing the same, but I don't know if that's a good enough
reason for perpetuating the confusion.

Cheers,
Tuomas

This is weblate being over-careful. A push to github failed (likely
because of a network hiccup), and any repo-action-failure triggers the
automatic locking - that helps to fix issues in case of real problems,
but in this case was unnecessary

Should be OK again.

ciao
Christian

2021-03-12 Thread Mihail Balabanov
Hi Sophi,

7.1 is OK now but the master help project started exhibiting similar
behavior. :) I see lock icons for all languages but the message is a bit
different. It reads only:

The translation is temporarily closed for contributions due to maintenance,
please come back later.

(without the part about 'automatically locked'). Is this due to a routine
update in progress, or is it also out of the ordinary?

Cheers,
Mihail

[libreoffice-l10n] Re: [libreoffice-website] Using the new design for the LibreOffice Persian website

2021-03-12 Thread Hossein Noorikhah
Hi Guilhem,

Thank you. I want to know if the content of the "fa" website is up to date,
or maybe I should try
translating the main website contents. One of the strings of the main page
is:
"LibreOffice 4: the free office suite the community has been dreaming of
for twelve years."

In such a case, the problem would be that some parts of the website are
dynamically generated, and website contents are not enough.

A possible solution would be copying all the main contents into the "fa"
website.

Regards,
Hossein
