Re: Any teams currently updating translations?

2017-12-28 Thread Pedro Albuquerque
Hi

Dick, thank you for your reply.

Andrea

I just checked and the pt_PT translation is 100% complete. As has been
for some time now.
As you might recall, I started translating AOO at
v.3.4 and simply completed translations in a hurry to make the v4
release. After that, I fully reviewed the UI and HELP translations and
I am still waiting for those reviews to be applied.
In all that time I translated and maintained up to date the WEBSITE and
all the RELEASE NOTES.

So, in reply to your message, please let me know what is there to
update and what must I do to see all my work made usefull.

Best regards,
Pedro

PS: if ever there will a pt_PT team, I would like to apply right now to
be the team leader with some extra privileges. After all, I'm
translating AOO for nearly 5 years completely alone. Or, if you prefer,
as a one man team.

Any teams currently updating translations?

2017-12-28 Thread Andrea Pescetti
With 4.1.5 on its way to the final release, we are working to setup
Pootle for translating 4.2.0.

This requires significant work and we are still investigating details,
see the dev list archives for more:

https://lists.apache.org/list.html?d...@openoffice.apache.org
(part of the ongoing work is also to add new languages as discussed).

What is important for us now is to know whether any language teams are
updating translations on Pootle in this period. Since we are releasing
4.1.5 and there have been no string changes for a long time, I expect
that most teams are NOT updating strings right now, and a quick look at
the Pootle statistics confirms this.

However, if your team is updating translations right now, please send a
note in reply to this message so that we can agree in detail on when we
update Pootle for your language. Of course we will try to preserve all
work done so far in Pootle, but all languages will need some updates due
to code refactoring: from my initial estimates (see the dev list for all
details) languages that are 100% translated will need to update a few
hundreds strings.

Regards,
  Andrea.

Hi

Good for Dutch but the release notes say there are no language updates.
How did you manage that?

Pedro.

sorry but I don't quite understand. ( I'm Dutch so that may have
something to do with it ;_)  )

to clarify:

I've translated the Release Notes into Dutch,

but since I already had started that a few days ago I think I've also
updated them.

I did nothing else then translate that one document

Greetings
