Thanks!

I see a lot of RES files, but don't know if strings can be extracted
from them. Still investigating...

I don't know how LO handles this.
Even though it is a fork of OpenOffice.org the strings might differ a
lot now.

However, you will need to ask at LO...

So there is no way to extract the strings from this language pack, to
my knowledge the ui part is translated, the help part is not.

If I manage to get to a committed group interested, I know where to ask.

Do you know if LibreOffice also follows a similar approach to handle
localization, that way we could translate both OpenOffice and LibreOffice
to Abkhazian.

Even after giving them detailed instruction I don't hear back from them.

Fortunately, we have a number of volunteers, that do continuing work on
translation.
I am really thankful for that!

Interesting question! This is Abkhazian (ab)?

But I doubt that the strings from OOo 2.3 are really helpful for the
current translation. I never thought about extracting them from a binary.

To be able to translate Apache OpenOffice, we need to add the language
to our Pootle server:

https://translate.apache.org/projects/

The UI has about 90,000 words. If you are willing to start on that feel
free to ask here.
