I too have checked out these links. Can you please furnish us with more
information about this prestigious award?

From Jeri:

I received a private reply to my original question (below) from a lacema
ker in England.

The Angela is Angela Brown, Chair of The Lace Society.

Angela Brown's lace design from William de Morgan Tiles reminded me that I
have a book about his work. Often I mention the types of books in my
library and list other related crafts. This means crafts that can inspire
lace and embroidery designs! This is where our lace guilds, with limited
library space and funds for books, usually fall short. Still hoping to find a
sympathetic permanent home for my library, where the books will not be
de-accessioned!

 Heritage
Crafts site, and it has not been updated recently. In this case, I
 looked
at the award designation of Heritage Crafts Marsh Award and also at
News.
Your (Jean Mary Eke's) web site says only Angela.

G'day Friends,

Had to pop down to Geelong tonight (100km) for the opening of the
National Scarf Festival at the Wool Museum.

My Toender Point Ground Lace scarf in Vietnamese silk won the
Thematic Category (Rhythm of Life). It took about 4 months to make
and was 2200 hours' work. It's up for sale at AUS $2000 - wonder if it will go?

The organizers had gone round the Op Shops and bought up a heap of
old LP records which they then bent at right angles. Each of the 250
or so scarves were then draped over a record which hung from the
ceiling on a slender cord, to show it off to its best advantage.

I was duly interviewed by the Geelong Advertiser newspaper and photos
were taken. Not sure whether it will be in tomorrow's or Monday's issue.

I didn't even know what the prize would be, but it turned out to be
$100 cash plus a certificate which had been personalized on a CD
label that was then stuck on to an old 45rpm EP record. Mine happened
to be the David Bowie hit Amsterdam - appropriate some might say. I
believe the exhibition runs till some time in August and would be
well worth a visit if you can.

Hi Bev,

Thank you for your quick response. The colours are a delight even though it
is difficult to see any detail. It also shows the hard work that always
takes place behind the scenes at these shindigs, people do not always
appreciate that especially if they have never been involved with
exhibitions/competitions. Hopefully more detailed photographs will be
forthcoming now the exhibition has opened.

The exhibition is to be called Erotica Botanica, and the work

interested, there is in Australia a fungus called Dictyophora
indusiata or Maiden Veil fungus. I shall be making this in Point
