I love it!
Thank you - it's made my day: definitely one to treasure.

'April showers' weather - I'm so glad for the garden).

What a great poem Noelene. It sounds just like every lacemaker that I
know.

Keep up the good work, in lace and in poetry.

Love the poem Noelene, That's what I always say about lace making ... being
a Gemini I easily get bored with crafts once I have mastered them but after
25 years I am still learning bobbin lace of one sort or another, hence not
had time to get bored yet. Maybe in another 25 years ???

Hi Arachnids,

I so agree with Sue on both sentiment. Firstly, I loved your poem Noelene.
Secondly, as another Gemini, I have been making lace for more years than I
care to remember and have not yet stopped learning. Long live lace

Happy lacemaking,

[lace] Next Step

2012-04-16 Thread Noelene Lafferty
Next Step .

I started just with Torchon -
Cross twist, and place a pin.
Just a basic set of bobbins,
Threads I had, and I was in.

Next step was some lace books -
More bobbins, different thread.
But the basic steps were still the same,
Just more complex, as I read.

Next step was a lace book
With other types of lace.
Besides the basic Torchon
Bucks and Beds then took their place.

Then yet more books and lace types
In an ever widening scope.
I think I'll never reach an end
But where there's life, there's hope!
