[lace] seeking help with Brigitte Bellon pattern
Hi Ladies, I have a fellow lacemaker who is trying to make a Brigitte Bellon Model 9a page 22 of her Kloppelmuster Fur Schals Und Tischlaufer book. She has the Rose Ground area done and all 24 pairs in place. So far I think she is right but now we are stumped as to what is next. There might be instructions in the book but we can't translate. Can anyone help? Beverly in Alaska where winter has set in for a long stay. YUCK - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. Re: [lace] seeking help with Brigitte Bellon pattern
As far as I can see in the picture of the shawl, once she has finished the rose ground (don't forget to cross the last pairs to close the little square that forms the rose ground) she has to make a narrow trail of half stitch. This narrow trail borders the rose ground area, and the tricky part is the corner. As this narrow trail is worked with only 3 pairs (one being the weaver), you must change the direction of the weaver in the angle, working two times in the center, to make both trails look the same. The text in the book doesn't help much: it says that the trail is made in half stitch, and that the ending of the shawl is made with a braid. Hope this helps... Best luck Antje, in sunny Spain. - To unsubscribe send email to majord...@arachne.com containing the line: unsubscribe lace y...@address.here. For help, write to arachne.modera...@gmail.com
