I only heard about switchel recently and thought about trying it, but I'm not 
very fond of vinegar unless it's made into a sweet/bread and butter pickle type 
flavor. I like the idea of using honey and lemon instead of the molasses and 
vinegar (although I do like molasses). I'm going to have to try this! 


What is your recipe?

never really get used to it. The humidity and heat combined seem to drain all 
my energy.

containers and boop up water I've picked up along the way.

Switchel is an eighteenth-century hayhand's drink consisting 
of ginger, molasses, vinegar, and optional oatmeal.  I

molasses and vinegar.

Harrumph!  The weather station says it's only 78.4 F out 
there.  But *its* thermometer is in the shade.


Shade temperatures were in the nineties a week or two back, 
which is unusual for northern Indiana.  Whenever I checked 
the weather, I got a "dangerously hot" warning and had to 
page down for the details.  My brother-in-law told me that 
he'd stopped playing tennis, but I kept on cycling.  However 
hot it is, it's not too bad with a ten-mile-an-hour wind.

is "be careful!"; that week it changed to "drink water!".

A little starch in a drink helps it get from the bowels into 
the blood stream, and ginger keeps the cold water from 
upsetting the stomach.  I think the sweet and the sour are 
just to make it taste better, but I *have* found that lemon 
water -- after squeezing a lemon, I put the spent peel into 
ice water -- goes down faster than plain water.

Found this quick summary on how to do it


  1.  Navigate to Settings. You can get there from the Start menu.
  2.  2.Select System.
  3.  Click Default apps in the left pane.
  4.  Click Microsoft Edge under the "Web browser" heading. ...
  5.  Select the new browser (ex: Chrome) in the menu that pops up.

It seems that Windows 10 (which installed itself a few months ago)
has done an update and made Explorer my preferred browser. Could SKS
