I don't think anybody knows, and my guess is as good as anybody else's:
2008-2010.

[lazarus] Another OpenGL questions : re TGLCube properties

2007-07-05 Thread David Lyon

I have been trying to get Lazarus going with GLScene under windows.

Not all the TGLCube properties are available, such as Front properties etc..

is this easy to fix ?

Re: [lazarus] Working with XML: crosscompatibility

2007-07-05 Thread David Lyon

I'm following this discussion,

two logical contenters would be ms-xml and openxml...

anybody with any ideas about what their status is ? I asked on the
openxml list and apparently fpc won't compile openxml.

Not sure if this is still true.

Hi...

I have to parse xml both with Lazarus on linux (server) and Delphi
on Windows (client).

Actually, with Lazarus, I'm using the DOM, ReadXML, WriteXML units.

Is there something that I can use in Delphi with the same code? Or,
otherwise, is there some XML component compatible for both Delphi
and Lazarus?

Some time ago i ported the fpc dom unit to delphi. It was just a
matter of changing the places of const sections, no change was made
at all, if i remenber well. I can send to you but is a bit outdated.
A better option is to try to compile the most recent fpc dom version,
probably will be easy.

Hi, can you give me some tips about that cross compilation thing ?

Or maybe can you send me the unit you already ported to delphi?

I'm using DOM in the client so I'd like to have the same code on the
server...

I don't know what you mean. The GLObjects unit (where TGLCube is
declared) is exactly identical to the original version and there is no
Front property. There is a Parts property ..
What are you trying to achieve?

Well if that is the case it is probably a mistake on my part.

I will check it again...

Re: [lazarus] Subrows in grids...

2007-07-05 Thread Razvan Adrian Bogdan

The TMS Components for Delphi have a Merge Cells Feature similar to
the subrow one but which is more Excel-ish, one can choose to merge a
range of cells making them behave like a singe one or split them,
those Grids are wonderful but they are commercial, useful as a source
of ideas at some point, those grids are the best i've seen, supporting
rtf or html inside cells, theme adaptations using default theme where
supported and internal one for Win9X or custom theme everywhere, the
grids also support standard controls inside cells like radiobuttons,
checkboxes, regular buttons, etc. or any other control can be assigned
to a cell and the grid moves it around, i think they had in the past a
limited set of comps for free.

Are you asking when the next _major_ release should be out? Minor
versions get released on a regular basis.
And not to be that much of a nitpicker since your English is better than
my Italian, but I think you mean The $100,000 question (adjusted for
inflation).

FrontProperties are part of TGLMaterial to access it use
YourCube.Material.FrontProperties

exact the same way as in Delphi

[lazarus] Databases on the Wiki

2007-07-05 Thread John

I promised Joost that I would do some documentation of the database
components, but I am uncertain where to put it. There is a page at
wiki.lazarus.freepascal.org/Databases that seems to be a very good
overall guide and starting point, and seems to have been started as just
that. However, it doesn't seem to be linked from anywhere very obvious
- only from from Lazarus_Database_Tutorial. Is there somewhere more
central where it could have a link ? I can than hang my stuff from it .

cheers,
John

Can you describe how this feature works with some source code sample?
