 Open IME explained
Anyone notice the menu option Open IME in various Microsoft products?

Like the new IE7 address bar context menu for example. Chances are
when you click it you wont have anything happen. Well if this has left
you confused then read up on it at the official page:

 http://www.microsoft.com/windows/.../ime/default.mspx
In a nutshell IME is the short form of Input Method Editors. Its for
inputting complex east asian characters using a normal keyboard.

I have been using Legacy for a long time. Today I noticed if you right click

come up are select all and open IME. When I selected open IME nothing
happened. The next time I right clicked the option close IME came up. What

Anne, I see that you are in Canada. You are in a country where English
and French are used. IME is Input Method Editor - a Windows system thing
for keyboards. I suggest you search your Windows Help files for IME.

RE: [LegacyUG] IME

2008-02-12 Thread Sherry/Support
Wow! I learn something new every day! I've never heard of this before!

I went to the Microsoft site to read up on it - it's for Japanese, Korean
and Chinese characters. However, it will *not* work with Legacy because
Legacy doesn't support non-Western European fonts at this time plus it's
only for Office related programs.

The MS site says you can input Chinese, Japanese, and Korean text into any
Microsoft Office XP applications, Web forms, and e-mail messages on any
language version of Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows Millennium, Windows
98, and Windows NTR 4.0 with Service Pack 6 (SP6) or later.

It has a pretty specific usage.

Thanks for using Legacy.
