Re: [LegacyUG] Any Way to Print Surname Summary Report with Selection of Records?
I cannot think off-hand of a way of converting the Y-DNA and Mt-DNA type selections to at-DNA type. But if you want all those in your files who may have the DNA patterns for which you are looking, then I think it would be worth your while to have a look at the lines of multiple descent for the ancestors of the individuals concerned, i.e. think about it the other way round. I'm not able to work through it myself at present, but if you hit problems which you have difficulty in resolving, please email me off list and I'll give it a go. [LegacyUG] Any Way to Print Surname Summary Report with Selection of Records?
Is there any way to print out the Surname Summary Report (found under the Reports - Other Reports icon) and just include a selection of records? I have multiple trees in my Legacy file. I only want to print out records from one tree. In addition, I only want to print out people that have a true blood relationship to me. I plan to use the results of this report to find DNA matches. Is there any way to tag individuals and then use the tagged records in the report? Doesn't look like there's an affirmative answer to any of you questions. Best you can do is create a CSV file which can then be imported into a spreadsheet. Report doesn't appear to be a great deal of use really, since it just gives the totals of people with the same surname and a year range. -- Regards, Mike Fry (Jhb) Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyusers.com/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup@legacyfamilytree.com/ Online technical support: http://support.legacyfamilytree.com Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com). Re: [LegacyUG] Any Way to Print Surname Summary Report with Selection of Records?
I can't see what value the Surname Report would have for DNA matches. It's a count of how many people of each surname and their date range. When you have found someone that is a DNA match and has an MRCA (Most Recent Common Ancestor) of 4 or 5, then comparing surnames during specific timeframes is a good way to locate possible common ancestors.
