Brian: That did it. I had it on for people to fill in missing names and dates. Re: [LegacyUG] Event formatting
Tom, Are those blanks there when you are editing the event itself? Your examples look like they are from a report and inserting blanks for missing information is a report option. When preparing the report look in the upper left of the report options. Do you see the settings for insert underlines for Missing? Make sure none of those options have a check mark. Re: [LegacyUG] Event formatting
I'm anxious to see the ideas for your question as I too have thousands of these. [LegacyUG] Event formatting
Items I have found on the internet (especially in Ancestry.com) which do not have a full date (like a census event) have a format like the following when I import them into Legacy: Noted events in his life were: • He had a residence in _-_-1910 in 896 Thomas Ave., Memphis Ward 27, Shelby, Tennessee. • He had a residence in _-_-1910 in Memphis Ward 27, Shelby, Tennessee, USA. Is there a way to revise the default format to make them look like this? Noted events in his life were: • He had a residence in 1910 at 896 Thomas Ave., Memphis Ward 27, Shelby, Tennessee. • He had a residence in 1910 at Memphis Ward 27, Shelby, Tennessee, USA. I have thousands of these and would like to find a way to clean them up. Re: [LegacyUG] Event formatting in Descendant Book Report
Firstly go to Options Customize Data defaults Check that the default units of measure have not been changed from your preference (inches or cm) If they have reset the default units and save your preferences If you had to change your default units try the report to see if that fixed the problem If that did not fix the indents Go to the Descendant Book screen and click the page layout tab You can set the indents for many of the parts of the report on that screen, including events. All of the notes and events are indented about 4 so that the left side of the page is absolutely blank (except for the title at the top the produced by statement at the bottom). I would like the indentation for Notes and Events to be about 2 inches from the left edge of the page but I see no way to change the formatting. Do other people have a similar problem? Is there a way to change the indentation?
