[LegacyUG] Legacy gedcom to ancestry

2012-06-10 Thread Mark Wilby
Hi folks,

I have uploaded my family tree to ancestry.com but have a
problem. One Individual, marked as not Living but with a birth year and no
died date is showing as living on my ancestry.com tree. Any Ideas?

Mark,

If I remember correctly Ancestry does not recognise the “not living” field; I
suspect that the person in your file would be less than their upper life span
limit (not sure whether that is 100yrs or 100+), and is, therefore, recorded as
living.

I don’t think that there is much you can do about this other than to include an
“abt” death date in your record – you could put this in privacy brackets
[[]] so that it does not appear in your reports.
