Well, I can't even pull from master now, so I can't rebase my patches.
If you'd like, you could pull the diffs from Rietveld, rebase them yourself,
and use the Description fields as the commit messages:

Otherwise, you'll just have to wait for me to figure this out.

Grr.  If anyone here could help me troubleshoot ssh, that would be
greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Hi Phil,

i'm very sorry for this delay - it's due to my bad organization and
having too many things to do, not lack of respect for you!
:(

2013/6/28 Phil Holmes m...@philholmes.net:

- Original Message - From: Janek Warchoł

There is just one formal requirement: some organization or business
entity (of course it should be affiliated with LilyPond in some way)
has to provide a certificate after he finishes his work. Do you
know who could do this? This doesn't have to be anything formal -
just a note that student so-and-so worked on LilyPond during summer
for estimated x hours.

Although I suspect this will be difficult, since there are no
organisations
or business entities (AFAIK) associated with Lilypond. I would be happy
to
offer to do this personally - I'm a Fellow of the Institution of
Engineering

and Technology, and ex-CTO at BT labs and Director of Engineering at
Motorola, so could quote those as indicators of ability to endorse your
cousin?

If you'd be able to sign this certificate in the name (i'm not sure
what the correct legal term is) of the Institution of Engineering and
Technology (or Engineering Department at Motorola), that would
certainly do. If not, it may not be enough.

thanks,
Janek

I certainly couldn't reference Motorola except as a past employer. I'm a
member of the IET, not a representative, and so I don't think I could sign
in a representative capacity.

Have you tried something like git pull --verbose?

Okay, it's working now.  It asked for a password just as before,
but this time it accepted my password.  Let's hope it keeps
working.  Thanks for your help!

Re: issue 3441: banjo example should use Staff + TabStaff (issue 10935046)

2013-07-07 Thread thomasmorley65

Some thoughts, otherwise LGTM.

https://codereview.appspot.com/10935046/diff/1/Documentation/notation/fretted-strings.itely
File Documentation/notation/fretted-strings.itely (right):

https://codereview.appspot.com/10935046/diff/1/Documentation/notation/fretted-strings.itely#newcode1864
Documentation/notation/fretted-strings.itely:1864: \override
Staff.StringNumber.stencil = ##f

I'm not sure about the \override
It surely looks better.
Though, our policy seems to be to put no \override into the NR, apart
from situations where it's necassary.
One might argue it's not.

https://codereview.appspot.com/10935046/diff/1/Documentation/notation/fretted-strings.itely#newcode1870
Documentation/notation/fretted-strings.itely:1870: \new StaffGroup

Currently we have several examples with and without \new StaffGroup.
That's not consistent.
IMHO, we should group every \Staff with additional \TabStaff without
SystemStartBracket and SpanBar, i.e. omitting \new StaffGroup.

It makes a difference. At any rate, this is a case where
\omit Staff.StringNumber
would be less obscure.

At any rate, I consider it a mistake to put the sets/overrides into the
music. The problem is that they will likely create spurious staffs.
