Hi all, I got a java application that it's installation cd is on Windows machine where you first have to install the JVM on the machine and from that moment onwards it is a regular java application (so I understand) On my Linux machine I have installed blackdown-jre-1.4.1. Looking at the batch script (bat file) I see the line: java -jar TL53.jar This makes sens but when I try this line on the Linux machine I get: Exception in thread main java.util.zip.ZipException: No such file or directory at java.util.zip.ZipFile.open(Native Method) at java.util.zip.ZipFile.init(ZipFile.java:112) at java.util.jar.JarFile.init(JarFile.java:117) at java.util.jar.JarFile.init(JarFile.java:55) Any idea? debian cdroms
Hi all, I seem to have screwed up my cdroms. I have two cdroms one is a cdr ide which I know is scd0 the second a true scsi cdrom I somehow messed with fstab and now I don't know what it is. Additionally the cdr is flakey one time mounting a disc the next time refusing. I also get that the drive is busy and I can't umount it. 1. how do I determine what to use for my second cdrom in fstab? 2. is there a way to tweak the fstab for my cdrom? I also am using a trick in the fstab 'unhide' to play some protected cdroms, maybe that is the source of my problem. I got the unhide from Xandros I am not sure what it is from, if it is a part of mount I could just mount those cds with unhide, but I tried it and mount didn't like it and I couldn't find unhide in the man page. Problems connecting to the Technion's network through cable
Hi Today I got my cable connection working, but unfortunately I'm having problems connecting through Linux. I have a terayon tj715 modem, connected through Ethernet to my PC. I get an ip address from it's dhcp server, and I can use pptp to connect to the technion's pptp server. I even get an ip from the technion, assigned to ppp0. the problem is that at this point, I can't use the connection at all, and that after about 1 minute, it just disconnects. windows works fine. using it's builtin pptp dialer. I'm using debian sid (not so updated, since I haven't had an Internet connection in two weeks), with kernel 2.6.8. You probably need to load the fbdevhw module which you are in RH and not in Debian. The vesa driver is probably not speaking to your frame buffer. 2. I deleted the 1280x960 mode. In RedHat8.0, this mode did not cause problems. Then it shouldn't be a problem with debian, unless the newer X is trying a higher refresh rate, but I would go with my previous guess about fbdevhw 3. The monitor identifier was changed from ___: to Sony SDM-HS73, because there is a bad omen associated with colons. The RedHat8.0 configuration did not have colons in monitor identifiers. Problems connecting to the Technion's network through cable
Hi Today I got my cable connection working, but unfortunatly I'm having problems connecting through linux. I've attached the logs.
