mail problem

1999-12-06 Thread nir bareket

Hi,

Whenever an e-mail is sent to me i don't get it.
I check in linux and i saw that all the mail that was delivered to me is
gotten by a file name, which called "root".(its owner is "mail" user and
it's in /var/local/mail directory).
In the mail i c a message (and also the sent mail) that said:

"Subject: Returned mail: Local configuration error
Auto-Submitted: auto-generated (failure)
.
.
.
config error: mail loops back to me (MX problem?)
554 'my mail address'... Local configuration error"

what doest it mean? and how do i repair this problem

sorry adir and other people who didn't understand why i put the questions
here. U r right, that not all of the questions should be for this group,
HOWEVER, for what i understand this group purpose is to give people that
aren't sure of adopting linux OP reasons for considering it not only help
with the OP.

For example: should i write in java on linux or c++ ?
how does cgi is taking care in linux? and etc.

I didn't see him "considering to adopt Linux" as you mentioned. He
considered to ask for the "preferred OS", which for this list it would be
Linux, otherwise it wouldn't be called ILUG - correct me if I am wrong.
Well, go and recommend him about Windows 98 ;) but I'm not sure that it
is for this list - and that's why it's so inappropriate. Asking us what we
prefer is like asking us if our name is the real one (well, almost :), and
it's a wrong move from his side.

Hi,

We are a growing Internet company, which has developed a smart search method
based on the following steps:

- Receive query from user.
- Import selected html result files according to query.
- Process data coming from imported files
- Display processed results to user

We will be gracious with any piece of financial technical info dealing
with one of the following topics:

1) What is the preferable hardware configuration for this situation and
where should it be placed (US /Japan or others)?Should the hardware be
leased (through whom) or bought?

2) What is the recommended OS ?

3) What is the most efficient programming language/s for this application (
c++ / c / Java/ Perl) ?

4) Through which mechanism/s should the application run (CGI / SERVLET /ASP
) ?

5) What is the best way for managing “Click Throughs” on the net?
