DNS poisoning

2008-03-24 Thread Wesley Parish
Here I am, at the NN room, trying to do something with my Paradise.net webmail,
and I keep getting SSL certificates for yahoo and google.

Is anybody else having similar problems with what seems to be a case of DNS
poisoning?

For what it's worth, I eventually got my Paradise.net webmail operational again
by searching google for paradise.net.nz, and no, I am not impressed with either
google or yahoo.

RE: "Windows Secrets"

2008-03-24 Thread David Lowe
Following the advice given at the last meeting, I've set up an Ubuntu
install on a 4gig pen drive so that when I get tired of my XP machine at
work I can switch easily from the dark side for a while. It's very easy to
set up and a dream to work with. Despite the irony of this article, I reckon
it was good advice.

I had a laugh this morning when my "Windows Secrets" newsletter's main
article was about portable/mobile computing.

Their advice? Linux on a pen drive.
