Nice one!
.. And, just in case someone of you would like to travel a thousand
years farther back in time from the Golden Age of Lute music for cat
inspiration, here is some piece of heroic poetry that can be chanted
with dramatic voice while plucking pentatonic improvisation on a
six-stringed lyre:

After Beowulf, now Beocat

[LUTE] Re: My cat is playing the lute! Where can I get free tabs?

2018-01-29 Thread Matthew Daillie

Does this post fall into your first category Ron?

In the past, I have observed (as I do) that the lion's share of posts
cropping up on the lute list fall into one of three categories: 1)
Selfies (look at my new video, instrument, cat...),

On 29/01/2018 17:36, Ron Andrico wrote:

Speaking of cats and music, lutenist Thomas Schall sent a photo of his

Donna's CD of Gregorian chant:

“The Lady listening to Donna Stewart’s voice on “Adoro Te” –
usually she leaves when I put on music…She seems to enjoy Donna’s
singing! It has been interesting to watch her as she seems to listen
  to the music.”

“BTW I can recommend this CD wholeheartedly – A complete recording
for voice alone. The first production of that kind I really enjoyed
  listening in one run.”

Thanks for your kind words, Tristan.
Cats always follow other cats, so by showing our cats, hopefully, you
can play some duets in the near future :D
Forget about cat gut, cats don't fully support that practice in my

Pusse should be sent for to the king
For a strange bird, or some rare thing.
Pusse should be sent to farre and neere,
As she some cunning woman were.
Pusse should be carried up and downe,
From shire to shire, from Towne to Towne,
Like to the camell, Leane as Hagg,
 The Elephant, or Apish nagg,

 But I forbeare to hurt or chide thee;
For may be pusse was melancholy
And so to make her blythe and jolly,

[LUTE] Re: My cat is playing the lute! Where can I get free tabs?

2018-01-29 Thread David Morales
   Hello,
Let me please suggest our tablatures search engine
   ([1]http://cuerdaspulsadas.es/blog/buscador-de-tablaturas/)
At this moment, only Sarge Gerbode's collection is indexed but you can
find lots of great tabs there.
And... here you have our "Cats" initiative, where cats actually
   play lutes :)

Cats are enthusiastic advocates for synthetic strings, and they
 are
likewise very interested in free tabbies.
